Up until you get Rikku she's probably the nicest party member to Tidus, given that she actually believes him about Jecht and Zanarkand. They have a lot of neat scenes together like when they're together in Luca.

My Yuna was nuking shit for 9999 before I even reached the Calm Lands and I wasn't even trying particularly hard to grind either.

I've been playing through it and I haven't really had a reason to take anyone off of their main path. I'm moving Wakka into Lulu's to grab her ara spells real quick and then head back and I'm taking Khimari up through the start of Tidus's so he can have haste before he goes through Auron's, but there's really no reason for me to mix it up yet.

It'd be interesting to go completely batshit with the sphere grid as soon as you could though.

the thing about Yuna is that if she takes basically anybody's path other than her own then it basically turns all of her Aeons into monsters

Yeah, Aeon stats either scale off of Yuna's stats, OR go up by predetermined amounts after X battles if Yuna's stats are too low (which is why players on regular NSG runs abuse them for Dark Aeon battles).

No. The game calculates each stat of each Aeon twice: once based on Yuna's stats, and again based on # of battles fought. It then picks whichever is higher, they don't stack.

Yuna is a pretty well-written character IMO. The problem for her in the West is that her VA is particularly bad, even in comparison to the others.

That's because X is about her going to kill herself because that's what Spira wants Braska's daughter to do.

X-2 is about her deciding to figure out what Yuna wants to do and she wants to have a boyfriend and settle down.

She's still pure in X-2 anyway.
