Streaming is the future

Im hyped to finally true handheld and portable full gaming experince, of course it wouldnt replace my need for console to play games on tho.

>a platform ideal for turn based and non-time-critical games
>industry moves away from turn based for action gimmicks
I'm looking at you squeenix

here's your 200ms delay bro

Ahem 5g

I dont pay more than 100$ month for unlimited and wifi costs less than 50$.

>muh 5g
congrats
you spoke like a real retard

How do you know it’s a Portable thing ?

kek

they've shown demos , basically you can stream games to any device, though it runs like shit. the biggest problem I think anyone could see from a mile away though is fucking ISP data caps, some people literally can't use this service because streaming games obliterates data. If streaming really was the future, the game industry would collapse unless internet services made a complete restructuring of their current system.

If physical media is 100% obsolete (by the industry), that is the only time I will jump ship off this fucking hobby.
Otherwise I'll just laugh at those attempting to push it.

>10000000000000 seconds of input delay is the future
might as well kill myself now

>If physical media is 100% obsolete (by the industry),
steam already made it obsolete

Oh goody, more corporate lies

>10000000000000 seconds of input delay
>kill myself

>5g
5G is not magic. It's just a faster wireless internet frequency band. It's like 4G was to 3G. Just broader bandwidth. It doesn't instantly teleport your data to the server. Latency is still a thing.

That's at least 70% of the industry.
There's still stuff that can be bought physically that is on Steam, but mostly what not on there the remaining %.

Steam is obsolete

Well fuck

5g is more than just stronger 4g, its game changer

You retard, stop misleading people

>computing as a streaming service (ie you hire CPU, GPU and storage)
The inevitable future
>gaming as a streaming service
Death of the industry

You might think it's the same but the differences are huge and will determine how future gaming would look. I just hope all attempts of game streaming would fail until we have the whole computing as a service thing

>people don't realize how terrible server side client input detection will be.
>They complain when they die around a corner online in an FPS

They can't put two and two together.

>this dumb bitch found a way to live for centuries and you're basically here getting older like some fags

Honestly you have no idea what you're talking about.

>both leading consoles will kill themselves within your lifetime
what a beautiful gen is coming up

>ISPs can barely handle video streaming and are in constant wars with streaming services over throttling issues
>Retards think gaming, a service that requires 10 times the fucking bandwidth at the absolute minimum, will be feasible.
Cloud is nothing, but a corporate wet dream. The techonology and infrastructure isn't there for it, but the incentive is. Complete control over the product, the death of piracy, ad injection, always online, data collection, the works. It's the end goal of every corporation, absolute control, but it's literally not fucking possible with the technology in its current state. Consumers value convenience above all else, and cloud isn't convenient in the least due to latency, always online, and bandwidth caps, and no amount of corporate buzzwords will solve this. What will is 20+ years of tech advancement or major overhaul of western ISPs, which won't happen.

Talk crab after you see the full thing. Latency less than 10ms, needs around 5mps.

Bro it already happened. Why do you think sony signed uo the deal? Wait till e3

Yeah, the desire of a corporation to push something beneficial to them regardless of it being feasible is proof that it's gonna be successful. Fuck off retard. Last I checked E3 was for electronic toys for children and man children, not for inventions that fucking break the laws of physics such as the transfer of data over distance at no fucking latency.

But that's what E3 exactly is; spouting lies that go against the laws of physics such as rendering graphics on a lowly console or showcasing them on much greater hardware before actual footage is shown.
The data thing, that's down the road.

I though 5G was for mobile connections.

It still latency but it will be stable and low, of course it wont be perfect but it will be fully playable. Your basing your assumptions of what small comapnies streaming sevices and google unfinished product.

They said this like 10+ years ago. It will never work. You simply can't get around the latency.
Even with in-home streaming that has sub 20ms latency you can feel the latency in games that are fast or require precise timing.

For example, playing Crash Bandicoot on my desktop is far easier than playing it on my Steamlink in the living room. Even on a cat6 connection with only 17ms latency the precise timing and platforming required on some levels becomes infuriating.

yeah, can't wait for modding to be impossible

Attached: 1548586444564.jpg (1024x730, 97K)

>bro you said something mean on our streaming service so we'll be taking your games now
>bro you're having packet loss, better take your smartphone instead
>bro you're on cable internet and its oversubcribed? Try playing in the early mornings
>bro we went bankrupt, sorry for the loss of your games

This concept is fucking stupid in so many ways. You can not defend this,

cant wait for nintendo to demo gears of war 5 and halo master chief collection streaming on the switch

>goes over data cap after 6 hours of playing a weeb game via streaming
The future!

Modding?
What's that?
Oh, you must mean the creative assistance tool with regulated pricing market?

>true
>experience
>my need

5g is just a higher frequency radio signal, which allows more bandwidth at the expense of having terrible range and obstacle penetration.
The radio waves still travel through the air at the same speed.

No one fucking wants this. Not even normalfags want this.
What the fuck.

Attached: 1558501482171.jpg (548x305, 78K)

Doesn't matter. Big publishers will shill this hard because piracy will be impossible and they will be in absolute control.

Shilling won't do anything if no one pays for it. Even normalfags will pay for madden or some other normie shit, play, go "what the fuck is all this lag this is shit" and won't pay for it.

Based retard who has no idea what he is talking about. Speed of transfer is not something you can affect, as it depends solely on the medium you use to transfer, which here is air. You would need to create vacuum to increase the speed of signal, (and good fucking luck doing that for wireless connection on any planet with an atmosphere), you will never get latency on level to support this level of streaming with 5G. You can maybe make better compression methods to send more, but the speed wont change.

>t. someone who actually studied radiotechnology

enjoy your lag bro

oh you mean tiny deals?
