I haven't gotten that far myself, but: is it possible your inventory was full, and you didn't notice it being auto-dropped on the ground?
I assume it's an adaptation of the Bachelor's plague-o-vision from the original, which they seemed quite proud of in the Kickstarter updates, but I have no idea specifically what you're talking about.
