Video Game Magazines

Do you own any video game magazines? I like to look at ads from the past and read old articles of upcoming games at the time to see how much has changed.

I miss them. I wish I looked better care of them as a kid

I wish I still had the couple I bought.
I can remember Australia's official PlayStation magazine around the PS2/3 switchover was half composed of them calling one of the magazine writers gay. Like, so many that it was just weird.

Also miss demo discs.

I have an almost complete collection of my local PCGamer ~60 issues

cont.
I love the upcoming games section they had every year and see interesting games that never came out or time forgot.

I had eight years of Game Informers but I threw them all away back in September.

>threw them away

Why not sell them or donate them?

To who? Might be able to give them away on Craigslist.

Man I don't know how to sell anything. I'm literally autistic. I threw away 2 PS3's and 2 PS4's because I bought the upgrades and didn't have any use for the old consoles, threw them straight into the dumpster the night before the trash was collected.

Donate or sell it to an antique store, sell it on craigslist, kijiji, Facebook market or eBay. I'd assume that that collection had some value.

Come on man, I traded my og PS4 for 200$ store credit. They are still taking PS3s too.

Do people really want to buy used things? I honestly thought that the only way to get rid of old stuff was to set up a yard sale.

Yes, some people are quite cheap and buy refurbished consoles to save money. Gamestop accepts consoles, controllers, and even accessories for trade. It's a big part of their business. It's also how I was able to afford some new releases, by just trading in my old shit.

Oh well that does sound much better. Thanks guy.

You can read nippongonese, or just collect?

I still have a few years worth of Nintendo Power from the latter half of the 90s in a storage unit, alongside some EGM from the early 2000s, at which point my nostalgia just dies.

But my REAL favorites are the few dozen issues of Tips & Tricks I still have sitting around here somewhere. In the years since I started reading it in 1996 I met exactly one other person who even knew what it was, sadly.

It was a magazine devoted to strategy guides and printing a fuck-ton of codes in each issue, alongside a wonderfully oddball sense of humor and the random articles about random shit from Japan. Mind you, this was all in the mid to late 90s, when cheat codes were more of a thing and videogame coverage online was spotty as hell, fake codes all over the place.

It was fairly unique among the game magazines we had here in the US at the time. I miss it.

I have a bunch of Game Informers in my closet. Mostly 6th generation stuff. I know one of them talks about Kingdom Hearts.
