No thanks, lol.
>mfw still on a 3570k
Is it time to upgrade yet?
Only if the single core performance is good.
There's so many emulators that still require good single core perf
And stuff like CSGO that runs like shit on Ryzens.
>new entry level Zen 2 chip faster than 2700X
Holy shit Intel literally on suicide watch. Tomorrow will be a great day.
wccftech.com
I'm going to wait until Black Friday, and then maybe.
I got a mobo that supports them, but I'm fine for now.
At some point I might though.
>Only if the single core performance is good.
it will be
i just want a 16/32 for mass encoding, when does that come out, or is going to be hedt only
intel is fucking dead
Leaks are saying that the Ryzen 3700/X will be 12c/24t, so it seems like you'll still need Threadripper if you want more. If the leaks about the 3700 are true, though, I could only image how crazy the Zen 2 Threadrippers will be.
Proofs?
Your crystal ball? Your ass?
Currently none of the Ryzens go above about 2000 on this.
I like playing every console game in existence for free. So I go console, my man.
Intel is finished and bankrupt
Fuck, I mean Intel
>entry level Ryzen 3 is around 3% slower than 8700K
>while clocked nearly 1ghz lower
>at $100
>also doesn't draw 95W
Holy shit lads Intel is literally over. I can't wait to see 3700X benchmarks.
4670k here, still no need to upgrade
zen2 gonna be more impactful than nehalem
I hope 3700X will hit 5Ghz, but even if it's around 4.7Ghz it will be huge and BTFO 9900K. Especially if they're supposedly pulling this off with 4Ghz.
Yes I'm ready, my old 6600k is just holding me back already just fucking release the in-game performance tests, that's the only thing that keeps me from upgrading
Relax bud the reveal is tomorrow at Computex.
How long will my 2600 last?
If these benchmarks are to be believed, it's already obsolete.
AMD literally couldn't have asked for better marketing than Intel's exploit that requires folks to disable HT to fully mitigate it getting detailed the week before Computex.
Good lord what I wouldn't do to be a fly on the wall at Intel HQ right about now.
Yeah but what games are going to actually use that power? My gpu is the bottleneck in all the games I play while my cpu sits at 30% usage, I think rage manage to push it into the 40s but thats it.
*rage 2
>PS5 rumored to be on Zen 2
>ENTRY level Zen 2 chip better than their top end 2700X chip
>PS5 will have a chip that's at least 2700X level
Anything under that is worthless. I'm glad I waited.
Tempted, but 6700k is still fine for 21:9 1440p. I
first need new gpu to replace 1070
You'll be fine for a good while
So when is it coming out already? I have been holding off my upgrade for too long and it's starting to be a pain.
>upgrade to 1080ti
>sure just plug it in
>get more RAM
>sure just plug it in
>get m.2 1TB SSD
>sure just plug it in
>want to upgrade CPU
>will also have to upgrade motherboard
>will have to deal with backups and reinstalling windows
>will have to tell with all that cable mess
Just thinking about it gets me anxious. Will hold on to my i7 6700K just a little bit longer.
>tfw AMD and solar stock
Thanks for the free CPU fellow AMDchads
Tomorrow is the reveal so expect a date tomorrow. My guess is mid June release.
>>will have to deal with backups and reinstalling windows
Tfw Linux
Also you only have to buy a new Windows license, not reinstall Windows.
You being scared of this means you don't have a nice case or cable management.
Oh yes, I can't wait to spend money on the latest pc technology when there is not a single game that will require it or take advantage of it.
>Tfw Linux
>buy a new Windows license
cringe
Damn.
Just bought a 2600 because by previous machine died and I needed a new one for work.
2600k here and dont see the need to upgrade yet
the difference isn't that significant don't worry user.
Looking at the comparison charts it wouldn't even be a noticeable difference.
Upgrade your PC when it no longer suits your needs, not when somebody else tells you to upgrade it
My i5 4690 should be enough for now
>On a gtx 970 and i7 3770k
>upgrading because new games I cant 144fps at max
>had to buy a new monitor cause lmao DVI is dead
Going big is expensive
I have the same hardware but my 1070 couldn't handle the upgrade from 2560x1080/60hz to 3440x1440p 120hz. So I got an used 1080ti still on warranty.
displaylet detected. 120 fps or 4k needs beefy shit unless you're playing on medium settings.
same here lad
don't know, the cost of a new motherboard+ram+cpu for like a 10% increase in performance just seems retarded to me
>DVI
>mfw 8350K @ 5.2GHz and B-die RAM @ 4,400MHz
Would I really gain any gaming performance by upgrading to a chip with more than 4 cores? I haven't noticed any performance issues on modern games at least.
Least im not one of those gays still on 1366x768
It's been getting there, 4 cores just won't be enough very, very soon.
yes and no. I had to because the stuff I was playing ran like dicks on 4 cores. The two biggest offenders I see right now are The Div 2 and AC:Odyssey.
Going forward though, expect game makers to really expect you to have 6 minimum.
Nah not for 60hz
Waiting for B550 motherboards and possibly some affordable PCIe 4 NVMe SSDs before I do a full system upgrade to 3700X
>60Hz
2011 called
>It’s very important to point out that Geekbench is Geekbench
While I'm all-in on Zen 2 and drank the AdoredTV kool-aid months ago, I must say I'm glad to see one of these fucking websites even hint at how fucking worthless Gookbench is.
>but 6700k is still fine for 21:9 1440p
Resolution is not CPU-bound.
>tfw even the next athlon would be an upgrade for me
>tfw I have no face
these core counts are insane
>buying a new monitor instead of a $10 adapter
>have literally everything but the case, mobo, and cpu
i need
the best airflow case
i have the shittiest 2080 ti
please tell me
i was thinking either of these

don't forget to thank mommy Lisa
Eh works for me
My responses in:
Yea Forums - I play at 1440p with a gtx1080, my gpu can barely hold 70+fps. I don't need it anytime soon.
/g/ - I do encode/edit a lot of videos, drastically reducing the time it takes would allow for more free time to play vidya.
Yes actually
Been waiting for these chips to upgrade my 4690k
amdfags
how is the 2700x on emulators
Fine for everything but the most demanding shit on RPCS3, really.
>5.2 ghz
fugg
Are the release X570 motherboards a meme?
I'm just going to get a 2700x. If I need more than that I'll go intel.
I'l have a 21:9 1440p @120hz monitor and a UHD TV. I struggle to get both with some newer FPS because of my CPU. 4x, fighters, and platformers all run great though which is what I originally bought my 1700x for on top of video editing
computex is going to be a holocaust
>meme lights
No thank you
Is the July7 date a rumor or actually able to buy then?
I am just about to build a PC with 2700x in mind but is it worth to wait longer?
I can't wait to see all intelcucks killing themselves
but the huge fucking fans
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
INT(C)EL IS FUCKING DEAD
yes i am
Oh hey that's cool and everything but WHERE THE FUCK IS NAVI?
I mean I know I'm just going to be disappointed anyway but I'd rather get the disappointment out of the way quickly.
>upgrading my PC
>in 2019
there is literally nothing good to upgrade for. My SLI 970s and 4690K still play everything just fine and AAA games look worse and worse by the year.
t. brainlet
In multicore benchmarks 2700x is ~35% faster than 2600x. Geekbench only shows 16%.
Geekbench is useless.
Comparing 3300 to 2600x in that benchmark is more useful. If you do the math and assume the wccftech rumored clock rates that's a ~9% IPC increase in both benchmarks.
Does it run MH4U at 4x res or higher on Citra without dropping frames during monster roars?
Pish posh, anything above full HD is a meme. My 2600 handles that swimmingly.
Resolution is not CPU bound.
It's definitely in the cards given the setup they have for this next line of processor, but there's speculation as to whether they'll launch the 16-core parts right away or hold off for a couple of months.
pcpartpicker.com
I just wanna know one thing: which Keyboard/Mouse combo is best for this setup?
no, I'll wait for fall 2021 intel's
I will probably get 3600 or 3600X but I'll wait to ensure AMD didn't fuck up again. I don't want to have issues with memory or something like that.
Stil got my 486, no need to upgrade.
>144hz 1440p
>with a 2060
wut
Also the K&M is whatever you feel the most comfortable. After 6 years I still use the Model M I got from the garbage.
Look up hand placements on mouse - palm, grip, claw - do find what suits you.
>will also have to upgrade motherboard
>he fell for jewtel's socket an year keeps goyim in fear
I can upgrade my r5 1600 to the zen2 just fine.
Very happy with my 1600X, this monster is going to serve me for 7-8 years
Also on a 2600. if you arent playing ARMA 3 or arent trying to get 120hz then stick with it for now. if it aint broke don't fix it. (for the record i am looking at getting a new cpu but im also a 120hz-tard
>AMD
>increase in performance
m8
what gpu do you got with it?
well, what cpu would you recommend for that monitor?
I've been OCing an FX-8350 for awhile
Should probably upgrade soon
No thanks, I already got a 2600 recently.
By a combination of IPC improvements through architecture and higher clocks. Also, if you look at this there is the part where the rumoured lower end and logically lower binned, thus lower clocked SKU outperforms AMD's previous top SKU. Not by a wide margin, but a comfortable one.
Why the fuck would I want a downgrade.
A grandfathered trusty Radeon RX480 4GB from my earlier rig
I would like it if the 3700X was all just architecture improvements to IPC at around 30% compared to 2700X and really low power, at around 1.12V to hit 4GHz, but since that is unrealistic, yeah.
>intelcucks
Is there a consolewar for pc components as well? Wouldn't you just use the superior part?
yes, it's a bloodbath on /g/
>RAM prices are finally good
>Zen2 is coming
God, I hope this time AMD won't fuck up. I really need a good CPU which will last for years. But to be honest those 4/4.8 leaks for 3600X look kinda unrealistic.
As of this year, rumour is that AMD will have 6 cores as the absolute entry level SKU. Which will probably be retained for another year after that, with Zen3 at 7nm with EUV, that will provide a good reduction in power consumption. But these will be around the $150 mark, which isn't a huge price point and actually a lot cheaper than what 2600 sold for on release. Combine that with improvements in architecture and power consumption and you've got quite the margin. If you have no immediate need for an upgrade, I'd hold off either until 7nm EUV in 2020.
My dad's Q6600 got friend last year, so I gave him my FX-8320 that I wanted to retire, either way and got myself a 2600X as a mid step. So now the plan is to retire the FX-8320, either way, give my dad the 2600X and make myself a new 3700X 12 core 5GHz system, as was the plan from the start. Oh man, the specs are insane. Just give us a good price tag, AMD, please.
>AMD
No thanks, I don't want my house to burn.
is intel gonna be stuck on 14nm for the rest of 2019? isn't this kinda bad for them if Zen2 gets launched uncontested?
I really don't care about Ayymd, just hope that the prices get a bit lower for the very high end stuff like i9 9900k.
Intel never lowers their prices for their CPUs.
The 7700k and 8700k are still selling for sticker prices with almost negligible price cuts.
The meme that Intel will lower prices because of AMD is not and never true.
>Intel ever lowering the price of their shit
Zoomers will never be able to run 60hz 1080p in the current year and be blown away because it took you 20 years to update your CRT
>sips
Feels good
AMD is poor people hardware. They don't have a single piece of equipment that would be the fastest. The only reason they exist is because most people can't afford high end hardware.
Ryzen 3000 comes with PCIE 4.0, the SSD speeds on that will be insane
This. Poor man's hardware. Yes you can have decent performance compared to your budget but intel will always win in performance.
I'm still on FX-8350 and have waited for the next generation since fucking meltdown last year stopped me from upgrading to anything that was out at the time.
PCIE is a meme so who gives a shit
>And stuff like CSGO that runs like shit on Ryzens.
wrong
t. ryzen owner
Fuck yeah. Im ready
>tfw still have an fx8150 and 7970
>480p is all you need bro
Modern gaming means you arent missing out on much
The 9700k and 9900k shits on the 2700X hard that AMDrones use 8700k benchmarks to cope with this fact.
Even if the newest Ryzens shit on the 9700k and 9900k it won't be long until Intel coughs up a better chip. It'll be expensive, but it will be better.
>Does it run MH4U at 4x res or higher on Citra without dropping frames during monster roars?
lmao what, so if im not emulating then why the fuck should i get intel? fuck off shill
Really? The 4670K bottlenecks for me in many games.
>because you cant oc a 8700k
Kek
i've been using an i7-3820 forever now, should i upgrade?
>buy a new Windows license
>Buy Windows
are you that tech illiterate?
Guess you're retarded, user. Whole point is to get best price/performance ratio.
muh price/performance
It's like 1 bux, I paid less for my windows that what I donated to Majaro.
>muh price/performance
yes thats the idea retard, imagine saying to someone trying to find a decent deal on a car to just buy a lambo bro
I'm glad I didn't go bonkers on a mad 1950X Threadripper just to rub it on the penniless betas that buy an overpriced Incel i5, since the main usage for my PC is lurking, browsing, shitposting and playing VNs
I own a 2080 and 1440p G-sync monitor, I don't give a shit about price/performance.
Price/performance are for budget builds, not for every build.
Running 4460+1060 6gb, if i only play at 1080p/60Hz should i upgrade?
Price/Performance is for every build you just move bias towards performance more. Imagine being retarded like this guy.
Price/performance is a buzzword for coping poorfags.
I'm sticking with Incel because I support our greatest ally
Depends do they have 16 cores pre hyperthreading?
I just bought a GTX 1660 Ti for my first PC
what won't I be able to play? Was this a good move? Bad move? I just wanna play modded games on high settings
I just wanna have a fun time playing video games
why would I?
good move
.
>Having a massive security hole for a CPU
>what won't I be able to play? Was this a good move? Bad move? I just wanna play modded games on high settings
why the fuck didnt you research that shit before you bought it? fuck i hate fags like you. in a few months you fags wont get the performance you expected, then bitch about how PC gaming is complicated then you'll go back to your ps4 or Ps5
I don't know much about processors but I was wondering if some of these ryzen 3000s will have the integrated vega graphics like the 2200g and 2400g does and if so, what kind of performance could be expected?
Price/Performance is equation that determinants quality.
it's a solid gpu, will last you years unless you're the type of autist that can't stand lowering a setting from ultra once in a while
Are you just going to insult me or is there any value to your post beyond saying I should have wasted a fuckton of money on RTX 2090 or whatever
I've seen footage, the graphics card I bought seems to run games good
and it's not like in a few months the games I'd play now are going to get incredibly difficult to render or something
Bullshit you don't, I had 2600k before I upgraded to 2600, no pun intended, and even it is better than aging 7-8yo processor line. 2600k was fine for a long time but it bottlenecked my 1080ti too much. I find it funny how some even say that 2500k is still fine, like, nigger, it's barely fine to do any kind of multitasking without heavy load, as soon as you open the game you get 100% CPU usage regardless and everything else starts to chug.
No, they've separated their CPU and APU lineups. So mainline ryzen CPUs won't have integrated gpus.
sounds like you got a faulty cpu
Yes, can't wait. Still have a 2500k from 2010 when they first released.
Sounds like you don't use it to do any heavy loads, let alone have a >60hz screen
>6600k
>old
Faggot
You're all delusional if you think these things are going to be cheaper then the current ryzen lineup
So now that cpus are almost out, do i wait for new AMD gpu?
I didn't suspect they would but my 6700k is not keeping up with my usage I need more cores over clocking will do nothing for me
as is usual, you only upgrade when you need to. If you need to upgrade right now, then waiting wont do any good.
Yeah but wait until these ryzens come out
For 144hz my 9600k + 1070ti is doing way better than my 3570k + 970
9400f is still best buy for gaming.
It's definitely more than 10 percent
