Summoning swords is the coolest shit.
Rec me games where I can attack motherfockers with swords summoned from thin air.
Swords externally
Fable has a summon ghost sword ability i think
It's a shitty musou but Fate/Extella Link has like three different characters that do that in some capacity.
Summoning a fuckload of swords really is the coolest shit and every time I remember that fact it irritates me to no end that the only games I know of that employ it are FFXV, Tales of Berseria, and Fate Stay/Night. One of those lets an enemy do it in a much cooler way, one of them you aren't even the one doing it, and the last is a god damn VN. FUCK
Blazblue has characters that do that
>Fable has a summon ghost sword ability i think
Right, and you could even mix it with other spells, IIRC.
You know all that smooth mother fucking pump Vergil does is summon swords, right?
Kingdom Hearts does it too. In Kingdom Hearts 3, for example, Sora can use the Ultima Weapon keyblade and, when he transforms it into a sword, summons a bunch of ghostly copies of the sword to fuck up enemies with. It’s pretty awesome
DMC3 is the definitive sword-summoning game.
So he turns into Final Fantasy XV Noctis?
path of exile has a spell called "bladefall" which just drops a fuckload of swords on people
FFXIV Red Mage has two abilities that summon swords, a single target and an aoe.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
After you beat the game as Leon Belmont, you can play as Joachim who uses 6 (or 8, can't remember) etheral swords that float behind his back.
Yeah I realized that when the other user mentioned Vergil, I forgot about it because unfortunately I really do not enjoy DMC's basic gameplay paradigm.
But DMC4:SE exists
FFXV, but its not a very good game
It certainly has more sword summoning but it's not as good of a game.
It all boils down to bloody palace, and Vergil in 4 is absolutely more fleshed out.
TWEWY Final Remix
Main Gaius in Xillia 2
Seriously, how come Nasu was able to come up with such a childish chuuni yet awesome idea as an ultimate spell that not only allow you to materialize weapons, but can also externalizes your inner world as an infinite field of swords that are all at your disposal and that when wielded impart some of the original users skill unto the caster.
Fuck, that's an awesome concept.
Fable is shit
At you this nigha Vergil THE TRUTH
Phantasy star online 2 as the bouncer class
I love how Type Moon is anime as fuck. The only thing I can think of that might be able to hold a candle to it is Jojo.
you're shit
The weapons look pretty silly, but the skills are pretty cool.
Might try it out.
is there a better example of fan wank than Vergil in MVC3?
Guys, my dick. Please
looks like he won't be able to attack until 30 more turns
I think there's a weapon in Custom Robo that does it
Anyone else likes the swords that extend their reach through magic? When the character uses a physical swords but the blade gets a magical edge that can extend
That was by far my favorite ninjutsu in Sekiro
KH2
KH Dream Drop Distance
KH3
DMC3
FFXV
That dark souls 3 hacker guy does a thing where he can spawn in like 100 swords and control them individually. his name is like reynauld or something to that effect
Sword summoning is up there with Microfilament Wires as some of the coolest dumb anime weapons.
Total War: Warhammer II dark elves sorceress can summon a blade vortex
Wires are just pussyboy whips.
Whips are the real anime weapon.
it was cooler when walter did it
Also has spectaral blade
What I came here to say. Too bad it's shitty but i still beat the campaign while using it.
>copying Ragna Blade from Slayers
I am the bone of my sword
The only wire weapon I actually like was the one from Akame Ga Kill since its not supposed to be for direct fights and more about constructs and utility. I think he uses it as armor, barriers, sensors, mobility, and all sorts of other shit
It's the highest form of GAR.
What about being able to control your sword(s) through force of will alone?
The way he pulled the sheath off the floating sword made my dick rock fucking hard dude
youtube.com
ave you seen this yet?
>vergil's summoned swords
Lol.
Wait really? Damn, fuck going back to find the Ultima materials though. I thought it was already cool.
I do not remember this in MVC3. Since when he did have floating swords?
>tfw this just made me realize he never has the tracing light
since forever. nobody uses them because it costs 1 whole meter to use blistering swords or sword storm when you can just use summoned swords again
aside from the sword storm anti dark phoenix tech, the sword formations are purely for styling purposes only.
Nightcaster 1 and 2 had some pretty cool sword-summoning spells
Got'em
>tfw never be an enemy of the world and get hunted down by a teenage girl's chunni alter ego
>aoi yuuki's lowest register voice will never be the last thing you hear
Was Boogiepop actually any good
New character in vindictus summons spears like Gate of Babylon. It's technically a gunner class though.
What about gun summoning?
but with more control over the ass kicking.
very
They butchered the first arc (episodes 1-3) but it picks up after that.
I'd reccomend reading the novels, personally.
Dante's summoned swords are fantastic and i love their unique flavor, but i can't wait to see what they cook up for vergil in the inevitable dlc/se. His SS kit is already more nuanced in 4SE than Dante's is in 5.
I can recommend two, kid
Drown in your ideals, and Die
My boy Firion summons and controls a whole arsenal of weapons.
definitely not and the sometimes flashy animation is worthless to save it, it's like a scuffed version of 10 different things it's trying to copy
I hope Cyberpunk comes with a monofilament whip cyberweapon option. Love using it in Shadowrun HK, and it just feels perfect for those settings. Simple to make, easy to hide, difficult to master, potentially hazardous to the user, deadly as fuck, and probably original created as a tool not a weapon. What could be more Cyberpunk than that.
also good
