Dillon, just like Chibi-Robo, has devs who were from Love-de-Lic. Every game they've ever been involved with has been anywhere from decent to really good, but has also severely underperformed.

the first game is unironically one of my favorite 3ds games, it's a genius concept

how is the most recent one? didn't buy it because I'm done with the 3ds, is the gameplay still roughly the same?

That's kind of depressing. Hope they have a big success soon.

it's not fair!

>severely underperformed
was it the case for dillon though? it was a 10 bucks eshop exclusive, I doubt it needed tons of sales to make money and it apparently did well enough to justify two sequels

Do they hold up?

sad to say but people just don't like good games user. they like hyped up games, regardless if they are any good or not. its why masterwork indies can only sell 100s of thousands if they're lucky and get highly praised, yet AAA monstrosities are bashed constantly yet sell millions.

Pretty much, sucks too because I enjoyed the games.

I woulda got it if it let me use a furry Mii on my Switch.

expansive

I got the first game and wanted to like it but just playing the first few levels scratched the FUCK out of my 3DS's screen. Neat aesthetic though.

Dead Heat doesn't require you to use the stylus to control Dillon

When did Mighty become a cowboy?

Mighty wishes he looked like Dillon

Dillon's first two games did decent. Dead Heat Breakers sold like shit because it was released at both the height of 3DS Piracy and more or less the end of its lifetime.

I hope it's up-ported to Switch. It doesn't need the touch screen.

I'm on my first playthrough of DHB right now, and it's pretty good. You can definitely tell the audio guy who worked on Moon:Remix RPG Adventure and Chibi-Robo is involved, with the speech sounds and all.

First game was shit and dissuaded me from getting the other two

he is kinda hot-looking in DH

What didn't you like about it?

It really benefits from having a map at all times though. Sometimes I don't even look at the top screen at all. That game would have been a perfect fit on the Wii U like most DS and 3DS games but alas.

Long loading times and the prep work before the wave just bored me from what I remember. Like you have a huge field and I get it’s to gather materials and get the lay of the land but it’s largely just dicking around in an empty field looking for the cotton things and caves. Then the combat just really didn’t feel rewarding either.

what kind of a completely retarded criticism is that
>yeah I get you need to gather materials, find heart pieces, build towers and learn the terrain to prepare for invasions but really you're just dicking around in an empty field

Isn't the recent one like $40 or something?

because it's a fullgame

the first one was a full game too, easily 20 hours of gameplay for ten dollarydoos

I mean it's less eshop/bite-sized in scope and length

You might like Dead Heat Breakers. Pre-wave prep is 100% optional save for assigning people to towers, and once you've gotten all you think you can get done before the wave done you can just skip the rest of the prep.
