I'd swap 4 and 5 but I agree otherwise.

(You)

Even pokemon has more quality than your beloved RTS/Turn-Based hybrid.

Why is it so much harder than most other SP viruses?

Nah, you're cool on my book.
When will the other board-tans be redesigned as navis?

What makes 3 better than the others?

I used to have Battle Network 1 on GBA years ago, but I never beat it. Are they worth emulating?

You're going to have to refresh my memory on this one.

Can someone post the mega link for the MMBN games

1? Not really.
The rest of the series? Absolutely.

>biggest library of chips
>tons of viable and fun folders/playstyles
>perfected the combat system
>bosses have a ton of variety and are all interesting to fight and S rank
>an absolute shitload of content from jobs to everything in the postgame
100%ing bn3 takes well in excess of 200 hours and even if you just want to finish the main game it still goes on for a while
its unironically full of soul and was meant to be the finale so it feels like it

I'm going to finally try the Star Force games. What are the differences between the versions and which should I play?

>youtu.be/o_iAmVC5GJs

Kedama is the Mettaur equivalent of Shanghai.
KedamaSP is a fast little motherfucker whose ground shockwaves turn panels into sand panels, and on top of normal attacks, is capable of attacking when it moves.

Oh, that's why it doesn't look familiar, I haven't played that one yet. What's the latest on the effort to finish it?

1 is unpolished in general
2 lacks navicust and a few styles
4 is shit
5 is dude chaos unison and random strategy segments
6 is the next best imo and some people actually like it better but it has shit i hate like uninstall in pvp

That's a hard question to answer since it isn't an organized effort. A new thread's been made in /jp/, but the user making the map editor isn't quite finished yet.

How would a battle network made in modern times be like?

Should I play them in order or nah? I was going to play 5 soon because it was the first game I ever bought that wasn't a hand-me-down, but seems like it didn't hold up much. However playing in order seems worse because 1 seems worse

Finally a BN thread. Lets throw hands.

Attached: 1558415583421.png (480x128, 5K)

Play in order but skip 1. Read a plot synopsis instead. Don't skip 4, play through it once and then drop it like the garbage it is when you realize it actually expects you to play it two more times.

Nah, all he needs is OSS english translation and he has all the QoL needed for 1

for 1 its just your favorite flavor of form
fire/ice/wood
for 2 each form is slightly different but theres a command code to input to start as any of the forms including the super form
for 3 it just determines your final form and chances of getting certain styles, but the best one you can get is in both versions (rogue)
version doesnt really matter for any of these

What are the chances these games get remade/a collection is released? I want to try them out but the are really expensive these days.

Only 1 got remade and was a Japanese exclusive that didn't sell too well. A formal collection would do nice but let's see what they have in store for E3.

Operate Shooting Star isn't a remake, just an enhanced port.

I don't really mind MMBN threads but at the rate these are going you guys might want to move over to /vg/ soon. Seems like there's a thread up almost 24/7 lately.

who is this artist? i love this drawing

I've been meaning to get into these games, which one should I play first? I tried the first one a while back but I couldn't get into it.

Attached: 184ff3c883cac1be479f8d7ed258266e.png (189x167, 29K)

>move to /vg/
>where they will die immediately
lol faggot

2 then 3.

Look up a summary of 1's plot.

Save some time, skip it all, read some of the details and pretend you played them all and talk shit here about it

1 if you are not a bitch

How in the actual fuck Megaman Ex beat Megaman Star/Geo?
Geo has a fucking black hole attack what the fuck.

Should I replay 3?
I've played them all when I was a kid but I kinda wanna have that same feeling of thinking I was in that world.

Do 100% this time if you haven't

Megaman x And battle network are my go to settings for my late night daydreaming before bed entertainment. It's pretty exploitable IMO

I WANT ROLL.EXE TO SIT ON MY FACE

Make that roll soul and we cool

Waiting for capcom to pump out a collection so I can finally try the series. Ninjago had a webgame a long time ago that was literally bn (even had a metall hidden in the files) which I adored, so I have no doubt I'll enjoy bn.
And in case anyone mentions emulation: Call me weird but I can't emulate for the life of me. I can play for like 10 minutes before realizing this doesn't feel right and quitting.

Attached: 1558659425047.png (466x416, 214K)

6 is too short to be above 3
Nothing is worse than 4. Any problem you have with 5 and 1 also exists in 4 and is probably worse there, as well as a bunch of other shit like the engrish and game breaking bugs

>Call me weird but I can't emulate for the life of me. I can play for like 10 minutes before realizing this doesn't feel right and quitting.
That's understandable, some games do that for me, especially when you have pretty much every old game at your disposal and feel overwhelmed.

Where's the full pic?

Just make sure you don't save over your old file on a physical copy unless you have both versions so you can trade the exclusive chips over.

Blows my mind that this series didn’t inspire clones, it has one of my favorite gameplay frameworks out there. I really think it’s something special.

The only bn clone I'm aware of is some old lego ninjago webgame.
Fun fact already stated but still fun: The ninjago game was such a copy that they forgot to take bn assets (like a metall) out of the code

Attached: ninjago3.png (751x503, 387K)

Get one of the original copies, i still have some of my old copies. I think even the WiiU has some of them on the eshop

How can the gameplay be transformed though?
They tweaked it a bit with each BN and it never felt out of place for me, but I don't see what any other game could bring up with the formula.

>Original copies
No gba unfortunately. Lost that thing long ago.
>Wii U
If they don't put out (or atleast announce) a collection soon then that's my plan. I'd rather have a collection so I can have them all in one place but a wii u isn't too bad.
Translation:I don't want to pull out that old wii u I think I lost the wires for

The core of the battle system is that you have a 3x6 grid and that you can pause at intervals to select from a pool of cards. Beyond that there’s a ton people could do, you could even change the core to an extent, though I think the 3x6 is just the right size.

ahem, the evolution of battle network games is already here. In fact you could say it's...Revolutionary.

Play Shanghai. The refinement is out of this world.

>2hu shit
cringe

Anyone ever mess around with desktop toys like Ukagaka/Ghosts or Rainmeter?
I'm surprised there isn't a functioning Navi Ukagaka but there is a Rainmeter imitation of a PET screen. With, of all things, an unfolding logo music player.
Aside from those two programs I've heard of Project PET which is an attempt to make a mobile tamagatchi and I saw some sort of screen conversion thing like the Rainmeter thing but for an android device.

>200 hours
Uh, no? It doesn't even take 100, it's more around 50 at worst.

Why are there hard ass viruses in BN1 when I barely have about 400 hp

I feel this. How has such a memorable series just been completely dead like this for so long? It makes no sense to me. You'd think it at least would have spawned a clone or two.

get a flashcart. then you're set for all Gameboy games.

bn1 was made for hardcore gamers like yourself

It has. Two of them were posted in this very thread.

200 hours is bullshit, that's definitely something from when you're 10 and playing it for the first time. Even then you're lucky to reach 100.
