Also the new Tomb Raider games are a fucking mess. They're essentially just movies with button presses and mashing every couple seconds and now you have to worry about finding ammo and all that.

Lara used to have infinite ammo and her puzzles were fun. All that was missing was the ability to strafe, which was fixed in 2006. That's why I think 2006-2008 Lara was the best. 2013 fucked it up and the classic 6 games are a little messy in the controls (but after Tomb Raider 4 it starts to get pretty comfortable). Just the controls, not the level design, which was fantastic.

Because RE2 had Maliwei777 and Tomb Raider did not. His work is incredible and he taught everyone else how to add custom meshes into the game. He made the OG Claire nude mod only 3 weeks after the game released and they all begged him to put out a guide for how he did it. Now tons of other mods just use that body as a base

Rise gave it a couple new functions, one being if you charged long enough you could pierce helmets, another being that there's an upgrade where you can shoot into specialized arrows into walls and certain wooden targets like trees if you got the upgrade which allowed for you to climb on the arrows. They also added specialized arrows, the 2013 version already had fire arrows but in this case the fire arrows basically explode and douse where you shot in fire instead of just lighting the person or object on fire, they added poison arrows which are obscenely overpowered and one-shot any animal on top of enemies and it creates a decent sized mist that lingers which kills anything walking into it, and there's explosive arrows which are better off used for puzzle solving than anything else since the damage is just mediocre.

No clue what Shadow did to it.

Shadow made the guns completely worthless toys. The pistol had a flaregun and the AR had a poison gas grenade as the secondary, that did shit. You also couldn't use them for 90% of the game or change Lara's outfit.
