This is the best resident evil game. period. Prove me wrong.
This is the best resident evil game. period. Prove me wrong
No, faggot.
4 exists
REmake>4>REmake2>CV>7>revelations>revelations2>5>6>0
Am I missing too much if I don-t play the DLC?
Utterly forgettable cast.
>b-but muh Jack memes
No, a damn meme won't last as much in people's memories as actual classics like William and Nemesis.
You will be missing the only actual good part of Resident Evil 7, the absurdity that is Joe Baker.
The RE fanbase loves the anime storylines, RE7 has no anime whatsoever, so the RE fanbase rejects it.
Is REmake 2 canon, or is the original? I'm really autistic about canon and don't know much about this series
What about the paid DLC?
Sadly, I bought the vanilla game and no the gold version.
RE2make and RE4 exist
But RE7 had an anime as fuck storyline with that evil monster girl that just wanted a family.
speak for yourself zoomer. Code Veronica made me want to gag when it started introducing all that cheesy anime bullshit to the series
Don't bother with the Banned Footage stuff, it's two minigames and two short scenarios that aren't worth the money. Just get Not a Hero and End of Zoe
New works in the Resident Evil lore always replace the old ones, stuff like Wesker being some ressurected super soldier was a retcon introduced in Code Veronica so Capcom has to release a series of videos to tell how Wesker survived being killed by the Tyrant and how he schemed through RE2 and RE3 in the shadows.
REmake 2 exists.
RE7's mansion is God tier.
Everything after that is.... not so much. And I say this and someone who loves RE7.
Big Joe Baker is awesome. I don't know if he's worth the full priced DLC though. But man is he awesome.
Nah. The game up until Jack's chainsaw duel is 10/10 but it drops in quality after that. Marguerite's section is like a 8/10. Lucas' is like a 7/10. Ship is like a 4/10.
I assume it's cannon to the first Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 0, but not really cannon to the older PS1 RE games, but what the hell do I know?
>RE7 has no anime whatsoever
Someone didn't get End of Zoe's DLC, can't get more anime than that, easily surpasses the damn laser dodging in RE4 and boulder punching in RE5.
The fuck? The beginning mansion was easily the worst part of the game. It was all uphill from there. Marguette and Lucas were great and the ship was decent. The only bad parts were the very beginning and from the mines until the end.
This was hinted in the OG RE1 when Weskers body disappears after the first Tyrant fight.
Both OG RE2 and the Remake follow the exact same story beats from Claire A - Leon B.Remake 2 barely overwrites a thing.
Both can be canon. The only meaningful difference is that Claire is not as concerned with immediately going off again to find her brother in the remake. That doesn't mean the events of CV couldn't still happen to nuClaire though
>FPS
>cheasy jumpscares
>Shit MC
>Shit waifus
Nah bro you have shit taste.
Who would win a fight between Wesker, Jack, Birkin, Nemesis, Saddler and Simmons, all at max power? Who would come in second after Wesker wins?
NICE CAR ETHAN
I haven't played the original but I've heard they cut a ton of interactions between Leon and Claire where their campaigns intersect.
The ship was okay. The whole story was revealed there, and the combat started to ramp up and get more exciting. The mineshaft up to the (QTE) final boss was pure combat. Basically, the latter half of the game would have been better if the combat was better, and the combat would have been better if there were more than like 3 enemy types
>This was hinted in the OG RE1 when Weskers body disappears after the first Tyrant fight.
A body disappearing is your hint? In hellhole filled with human feasting creatures? The fact Capcom even felt the need to release the Wesker Files shows well enough they initially didn't peg Wesker as a villain bigger than what he was in RE1.
I should clarify; once you get on the tanker, the game suffers a huge drop in quality. The mines are even worse, and the final boss (if you can call it that) is the worst in the entire series. I liked the early part of the mansion, where Jack is chasing you around. Unless you're talking about the little cabin where the game starts, which I suppose isn't too bad.
Different opinions.
>I haven't played the original but I've heard they cut a ton of interactions between Leon and Claire where their campaigns intersect.
They did. It's one of the my main disappointments with the remake. In OG RE2 both Claire and Leon have a radio, which they talk over (well I'm fairly certain they do. It's been a while), and meet at various points throughout. This is mainly fluff dialogue though and doesn't actually impact the plot at all.
The remake has Claire and Leon only interact at the start of the game then at the very end. It's like they have the bare minimum conversations which were for the plot.
Pretty sure it gets pointed out in a cutscene in Jill's route as well iirc, that Wesker went missing.
AAARREEARRRGHHHHHH
Why is Mia only cute when she becomes a deadite?
Too much hide and seek and scripted events
I can kind of agree that the mansion was decent. The little house where you do the beginning sequence is terrible. As well as the final boss, which is also terrible. Not as bad as the bosses in the old fixed camera REs though. I didn't have a huge problem with the tanker. I thought the whole elevator puzzle was pretty cool. It was after you get off the tanker that things went down hill for me
It's certainly a contender for best. REmake 1, 2, REmake 2 and 4 are all viable options as well.
>mansion is good, everything else is bad
that opinion isn't controversial at all. i've seen the same sentiment echoed in basically every re7 thread.
> REmake 1
> Fixed camera
> Ink ribbons
> 6 or 8 inventory slots
> Door animations take up 25% of the time you spend playing the game
> "Best"
3 of the things you listed are things that real horror fans like
That's a bunch of gatekeeping bullshit. All of these things only serve to make the game more frustrating and tedious. They don't make the game any scarier and are in no way good game design decisions.
it was a really good game to be honest
A bit like Outlast 2 should have been
cringe
Then go play some fucking third person shooter games you fucking pleb.
Zoe a cute! CUTE!
Game should have ended with Ethan and Zoe making passionate love on the boat.
Cringe and bluepilled.
With Mia watching?
Go play your ancient PS1 games you crusty old boomers. I'll be enjoying RE7, RE2Make, and every future Resident Evil game because Capcon has moved on and will never make an old-style Resident Evil again. And that's a good thing.
Finally, someone says it. Unironically based, fuck boomers and fuck old games
do people actually care about waifus in a swamp cannibal goo monster horror game?
I think 4 is better because it has the same quality and a wider scope, but 7 is definitely the second best in the series. It was genuinely scary and had plenty of moments that really surprised me. Fantastic game.
>
apparently
Waifus and horror go hand in hand. The contrast between pretty girls and disgusting horror shit is always so good.
It's why scream queens are a thing
Sequel never ever
A sequel that would fix all the issues RE7 has would be GOTYAY
I'd be content with them just releasing the VR edition on PC
Why the fuck is it still stuck on PS4 only? It's like the VR killer-app
Personally I'd rather see RE8 be:
> OTS REMake 2 style perspective
> A protagonist that doesn't have the personality of a damp cardboard box
> Return of zombies as the primary enemy type
> Less on-rails "pure" horror sections with no real gameplay
>> Return of zombies as the primary enemy type
no thanks, we got RE3R coming up for that, and RE2R just came out. Plus I don't know how they can make them better for RE3. They are already great, but everyone's going to already be bored of them from playing Remake 2
