Still the best Castlevania game ever made

Still the best Castlevania game ever made.
Prove me wrong losers.

SOTN is better in my opinion.

>thinking the metroidvanias are still the superior form of Castlevania

eat shit faggot

I can't, you are correct.

>Leddit spacing
You need to go back, nigger.

Best classics:
1. Akumajou Densetsu (Yes, not III, music fucking matters)
2. Bloodlines
Rondo and IV are incredibly overrated

Best Metroidvanias:
Yeah it's Aria
SoTN's too easy, Aria's much more solid as a whole game
Aria's grinding for souls can be annoying and it's still easy, but it's not as braindead as SoTN
Plus soul abilities are fun as fuck

>bloodlines
>not overrated

You fail to understand what reddit spacing is.

Aria is ugly and has shitty music. Also it's way too anime. Dracula is reincarnated as a half Japanese white haired teenager, and the castle shows up in Japan for some reason. Its fucking stupid

You never actually NEED to grind for souls in Aria unless you want to get extra content, and drop rates are extremely generous for the souls that are used to unlock said content.

Completing 100% is a total bitch, sure, but playing it blind is a much more enjoyable and less grindy experience than, say, Circle of the Moon.

Man, CoTM is tough.

I honestly think Super is such a dull entry. Bloodlines and Rondo are peak 16 but era.

It's the best Metroidvania at least. Been playing through all of them for the first time recently and it just blows away the rest of them. Dawn would almost be up there if it wasn't for all of the strange missteps it made, like the terrible artstyle change and having what look like first chapter shonen jobbers as the main villains, and FUCKING TOUCH CONTROLS. It made some improvements over Aria that I liked, though, like more weapon types and certain souls not just being straight up better versions of previous ones, namely the stat boosters

I suck too much at Classicvania to give my opinion on them. I tried playing Rondo recently, and it's really cool, but I'm fucking terrible at it.

why the fuck is this image so tiny
I haven't actually played a castlevania before

The first Castlevania is probably the best starting point desu. It's short and sweet - and really not that difficult.

by all means save state or whatever if you need to, but honestly it's one of those games I feel everyone should play to completion in some way

It's not really that tough, just poorly designed. In some runs, you get some +LUK gear, which snowballs into bunch of crazy gear and broken DSS combos that steamroll most of the game. In others, you end the game with like 3 different flavors of whips and nothing else. The fact that even potions are RNG means that you either get lucky or grind your brains out to progress.

>Also it's way too anime
thats Dawn of Sorrow.

>Aria is ugly and has shitty music. Also it's way too anime.
You're thinking of Dawn of Sorrow, that's the one with the shitty anime art. Aria has Ayami Kojima art.

Just look at this Yugioh GX Projared looking motherfucker. I hate him

yeah, dawn of sorrow was a fucking mess in the art direction, good they unfucked it on OoE

>poor man's SOTN

Unpopular opinion, but the best games have been the ones where you can use anything except the whip. Aria and Sotn are great because of it, not in spite of it
