Thoughts on Nier: Automata

never played the game, anyone here thinks it's good? I do like RPGs but it seems like it's more action based than RPG
Have no fucking clue though
Is it chill or am I gonna have to tryhard?

It's not a RPG it's a hack and slash.

I actually just started playing the game. It is piss easy on normal.

You play this game for “woah, philosophy” and wanting to **** 2B.
The R1 button plays the game for you.

Overhyped.
Story is boring, characters are edgy.
Combat is okay.
Great OST.

I really really really liked it. gameplay is kinda like a more fluid MGR, but the ost and story is really where it's at. Kinda spoilers here, but you do gotta play through the game 3 or 4 times to get the "true" ending which kinda sucks, but imo it's a really great game with one of the best OST's of the past generation.

Its a game is better than the sum of its individual parts.
Its a chill and easy game, with strong focus on world build. You will probably enjoy it more if you like to just walk around somewhere, explore, relax, instead of run through the story non-stop.

The execution of the game is wonderful, it hypes you pretty hard. It does get boring halfway through. Like, even i kinda dropped it for 2 weeks. But push through and it will have a good payoff

Sounds nice!
>You will probably enjoy it more if you like to just walk around somewhere, explore, relax
Literally what I was looking for desu

"Can a robot be sentient" is never brought up because its an overdone boring story, and the writer knows it.
The humanity of the characters is never even brought up, retard. In the world is completely accepted that androids are fully sentient like humans
Play the game

>Thoughts on Nier: Automata
I honestly think that it is one of the greatest games ever created, and a shiny gem of this otherwise dull generation.

The visuals are good, soundtrack superb, gameplay fun and very varied, and its story & themes can hit hard at times. Legit teared up at the very end.

Only tryhard contrarians "hate" Automata.

>gotta play through the game 3 or 4 times to get the "true" ending
This is a literal lie.
It's not like the first Nier at all. You just play the four chapters in a linear fashion, and you're done. The final two ends can be played back to back, without restarting.

I meant how like, 9S has to go thru pretty much all of 2B's story. I guess you don't really have to play it 4 times, but it kinda feels like it ^-^;

>people are so hypnotized by 2B's ass they thought this shit-anime-tier-story with extremely-repeative gameplay was good.jpg

in case you've been living under a rock, N:A is one of the most beloved and acclaimed games of this decade. And for a good reason.
I've 100% the game twice now, once on PC and once on PS4, and I can still see myself replaying it again in the near future.

The less you know before hand, the better.
One thing's for sure though: afterwards, you may really want to play the original NIER game, and then maybe dive deeper into the origin series of it all: Drakengard.

Shit game. Terrible story and unsophisticated action mechanism. Literal waifu game.
Play the original nier.

Yeah I was wondering if I should play any of the other Drakengard series games before, but apparently I've seen it's not really necessary because the plot is kinda "isolated" even if I guess the lore isn't

>9S has to go thru pretty much all of 2B's story
That's like saying that you kinda have to play through Claire's story as Leon in RE2.
The amount of brand new content and the completely different play-style are more than big enough hooks to make the B chapter engaging.
And no, it's nothing like "playing it 4 times". That's what you do in Nier1, quite literally (even if it's just the last half x4, but still), but Automata flows naturally from one chapter to the next, and is not beat until the final [E]nding rolls.

Seethe somewhere else, Incels.

Your opinion is boring
>uhh they're edgy 6/10
reductive moron

The combat is standard of a platinum game.
Normal difficulty is piss-easy, it was my first platinum game and I died a grand total of once (from a suicide bomber robot).
Hard is *hard* at first but once you get a bit further it gets to actually be fun.

N64 tier graphics
Awful map exploration
Boring and casual combat (spam dodge for invulnerability)
Awful game engine that drop resolution and fps
Megaman legends NPC tier
People drops the game after 2b route.
Quests that you need to replay the game again because " woah you didnt got it on the right time" ( aka ds3)

Awful game

2/10 only because tobby

As a filthy secondary newbie, who started with Automata just back in 2018 and afterwards played through the OG-Nier and the DoD games, I can confirm that.
Yes, you will miss tons of references and easter eggs, but overall the world and plot of Automata is very easy for new folks to get in. Hell, I'd say that would the Automata not had captivated me so deeply, I would probably never even given the original and Drakengards a shot, or at least would not have tolerated their flaws as well as I did now. Gameplay and performance-wise, N:A is the most finetuned and perfected gaming experience so far in the saga.

The way I went into the older titles was like playing an archeologist, digging through the early stages of some grand, epic lore, long lost to the times.

It's specifically made so that even people useless at action games can play it. Normal mode is not terribly difficult and if you play Easy mode with the Auto chips installed, it literally plays the game for you. You can also over-level yourself to your heart's content.

It's chill as fuck. Mash that attack button and sometimes mash dodge.

desu I haven't played it since it came out and I literally have no idea what I'm talking about ( ̄∇ ̄) also I cant remember but how long is A2's story? I completely forgot she was in the game till a second ago, her gameplay is amazing and she has taunts!!!

Attached: Astolfo11.png (524x671, 516K)

I dropped it after it made me replay an entire route with 9s. Couldn't get through it, was just so boring. The game was boring enough already.

why did it autocorrect "desu" to desu?

woah, you can't say t b h anymore?? weird

>I cant remember but how long is A2's story?
Short as fuck.

>anymore
either you're a falseflagging nufag, or you've not been here for over an half a decade.
