All Primals are is extreme amounts of aether given form by the fervent prayers of a group, or a powerful individual.
It's like the Ixali have a collective idea of what "Garuda" is, and with enough crystals to provide the fuel (aether) to form it from this idea, Garuda is "summoned".

They're almost certainly just mortal inventions, the difference being the major races don't think about summoning their gods the way the beastmen do. There's the Little Ala Mhigo band that tries to gather the crystals to summon Rhalgr, for instance, and Gaius does assert that the Twelve are just eikons and used Louisoix invoking their power at Cartenaeu as evidence.

Another thing to note is that all that aether that composes the Primal doesn't necessarily need to compose the form all on it's own.
It can also elevate another individual into a primal, like Thordan and Shiva.
If you wanna talk about Primals being gods though, the primal Alexander could move freely through time and could calculate every possible timeline, only to decide that the best course of action would be to do absolutely nothing at all, since it was aware that jumping through time so much would drain the planet of it's aether, destroying it

We don't know one way or the other for sure, but we do know at least that some of their myths are incorrect. Midgardsormr's covenant is not with Althyk and Nymeia, but with Hydaelyn. Seal Rock is an Allagan weapons facility, not a magical island that Llymlaen bound Thalaos to. The Moon is Zodiark, not Menphina.

In the case of people turning into Primals, the aether that composes their form would likely just take in the excess injected into the "summoning" process, and then the form of the individual would change in accordance with the aether absorbed. It's not like a person is inside the primal like some weird flesh/spirit-mecha.

She was never "removed" from Shiva.

Tried this game for a few months. I enjoyed Heavensward content, but I don't have much desire to play every day. There's no carrot, just glamour stuff and that system is pretty limited. If you enjoy pvp at all, this definitely isn't the game for you. The textures are really, really bad and the weird lighting doesn't help.

It's unlikely that XIV will end after 7.x is complete, but whatever plans they will have to extend XIV's life will be without the benefit of a Yoshida developed 10 year plan. In fact, I assume Yoshida will have stepped down somewhere around the 10 year make as FFXIV will likely be entering its twilight years after that point if it already hasn't. Of course, it could be that FFXIV's popularly continues to grow and new plans are made to considerably expand it. However, I think technology has a way of catching up to things in the video game field, even one's like MMOs that are meant to last years and years.

My most optimistic expectation is that FFXIV continues under Yoshida's leadership via Studio Head but that operations are largely if not entirely handled by a dedicated FFXIV team, which by then will likely be a B or C team. FF16 is currently in full production and it's likely between now and 4 years from now when FFXIV hits 10 years, there'll be at least one more big AAA tier project that enters full production under Yoshida's watch as Studio head. And I imagine it could be a FFXIV successor, which if it launched at the 10 year mark since 2.0 dropped would be almost 13 years since 1.0 dropped. Which seems like a reasonable amount of time to pass between successive MMORPGs.

That is fun until the first patch where BLM gets the nerf bat and put "more in line with other DPS" to be "fair" to everyone else and they return back to being a shitty turret in a movement based game.

BLM mains would be fine if they just removed every spell except fire 4 while increasing its potency to 700. The rest of us feel that the gameplay would be a bit stale, but the BLM mains wouldn't mind since they are happy with their big numbers
