My point is that most things you are nostalgic about was shit. I was born in '92 and I remember having 3kbps internet, jerking off to a single porn magazine for months, having only a few games, my first cellphone being some flip phone I could not do anything with other than calling people.
And I have very good memories with everything mentioned and I had a great childhood but that does not mean things were better. Kids these days have unlimited access to TBs of porn of every fetish, unlimited access to games via torrent, gigabyte internet, big TVs being the standard, emulation, access to internet 24/7 with their smartphone. These are all good things.

A better example is that a friend of mine’s brother had a friend who got suspended from a private school after someone in a group chat with him showed him jokingly calling someone a nigger. For whatever reason they put him out of school long enough that he flunked a majority of his classes and since his parents didn’t want to pay for another year at the school then they needed to, they’re sending him to public school next year.

But I’m willing to bet that in this case our country was bit ahead of the curve, because the smartphone giant of the time, Nokia, was a local company, and Finland has really good and cheap wireless networks, even back in those days.
