When it enrages it starts doing the damage you're dealing back to you (spike damage). The trick is to target your party members off the cables when they start to kill themselves by targetting the main body. The real best way to beat it though is to use a chain attack to just blow it up with a couple orbs. This is basically the moment where the game is trying to teach you "yes, chain attacks are amazing and you should be using them to try to one-shot bosses".

Yeah I'm kinda getting the idea that the game isn't entirely sure if it wants to treat them as one girl. Aside from already knowing the big ending spoiler for them, if Pyra is basically the 'dere' side while Mythra is the 'tsun' side, how come Mythra can be pretty dere herself at times?
But yeah I feel like Mythra, with her fairly minor screentime, has shown a bit of development and a few different sides to her. The big scene everyone uses as one of the two bad examples of how 'anime' the game is happens fairly early. By comparison, a similar scene happens at the start of Chapter 8 but she reacts in a much more subdued way. She also has a cute scene with Poppi. Pyra, in contrast, just seems kinda the same all of the time. I feel like I got everything there is about her within the first couple of chapters.
Basically, Mythra seems flawed but with more personality traits, while Pyra seems 'perfect' but with fewer traits, and I prefer flawed characters. I also found myself liking Nia more over time for the same reason.

I think they tried to kind of do something like that for Pyra, too - when Zeke talks about Mythra being the pushy one and Pyra being 'the opposite of pushy' in chapter 6, Rex says that it might look like that on the outside, but Pyra can be really stubborn too.
The problem is that the game never really makes an effort to show that outside of maybe one or two scenes, so it just comes across as being totally lopsided. It's frustrating.

Because Addam's a pussy who sealed Pyra away after the Aegis War because he was afraid of her power and couldn't truly accept her.
He justifies it as "humanity not being worthy of that power" or something, but that's a pretty damn weak.
Rex can easily accept Pyra and Mythra because he's a kid who sees their power and just thinks "Wow! Cool!" instead of "Holy fuck can I control this?" like Addam did. That mindset isn't entirely Addam's fault, mind you - his first impression of what an 'Aegis' was would've been hearing news of Malos sinking a whole continent, so it's not surprising he'd be more nervous than a kid who's had nothing but positive experiences and only really knows of how destructive their power can be through old vague stories.

Addam was afraid of her. He woke her up in the context of the other aegis having killed a continent and none of them had any way of knowing whether the one he was resonating with would be any different. He was constantly trying to restrain her and tell her what she can't do, throughout the game we see this up until the very end where he fails to prevent her from blowing up a continent in anger.
Meanwhile Rex, being just some ignorant kid, has no fucking clue about the entire world of blades and aegises and he just sees her as a pretty girl who wants his help, and while most people see elysium as some sort of superstition she sort of confirms his belief that it's real and gets him to get serious about his dream of going there.

I wish Torna's characters had gotten swimsuit alts. I don't normally use swimsuit armor because it typically looks too dumb and is just there for fanservice purposes, but the designs for XB2's swimsuits were really nice aesthetically. Would've been neat to see what they came up with for Torna's party.
I love the game, but the cringe and battle system get a lot worse before they finally get better. If just 4 hours in the cringe was too bad for you, slogging through the rest of the crappy parts might not be worth it.

What changed between 1 and 2's voice direction? 1's Voice acting was amazing. There's no way they managed it with such poor directing as only giving the script with no context.

The sad thing is that XB1's directors clearly cared a lot, based on the details we've gotten about how that dub was made. (I think one of them was a VA himself?)

That XC2's dub turned out as good as it did considering how little time, resources and efforts were put on it is actually a miracle.

In this regard, the casting is really bizarre. You've got literally whos for Rex and Pyra/Mythra, the fucking main characters, and then you've got really experienced VAs for characters like Morag, Brighid, Malos and even random rare blades like Azami.
You really wonder what the hell they were thinking. Still, casting literally whos for main characters gave us Poppi's VA, so I suppose it works out sometimes.

Honestly, it's not a bad dub. Most of it's problems come from poor directing instead of the actual voices.

Yes, most of XC1's VAs were theater actors, but I honestly don't know what training or experience the XC2 VAs had beyond Malos voicing a train on Thomas the Tank Engine so I didn't mention it.
Also worth mentioning is that XC1's VAs had a direct hand in altering some of the dialog lines so they'd feel more natural to their British ways, I'm not sure the XC2 VAs had that luxury.

Many of XC2's cast was TV and stage as well. That's just the British acting world. Many may have been less experienced with VA work specifically (this is Pyra/Mythra's first voice role), but several of them have done plenty of that too.
