>In a question regarding aesthetic and design changes to the game and some concerns that the game will deviate from what the original poster thought was an amazing gameplay reveal aesthetic, Lilayah responds that changes are super common to pretty much every single aspect, which includes art and graphic designs. This hints at some aesthetic changes for likely the better when it comes to 2077.
Hope you fucking sunposting faggots are happy, they're changing the aesthetic of the game now because of you crying so much about the goddamn sun. I swear if this game ends up looking like generic "cyberpunk" shit, I'm gonna lose my shit.
>original trailer >Yea Forums bashes it for being sunny and bright >game finally releases >Yea Forums shits on it for being yet another "grimdark" neon flooded, back alley dystopian cyberpunk game instead of something different
i fucking guarantee it
Luke Flores
>game is literally named "Cyberpunk" >Yea Forums complains when it looks like cyberpunk
Good. Sunny LA is a shit setting, cyberpunk or otherwise.
Nolan White
>cyberpunk is an aesthetic
for fuck sakes
Elijah Nelson
WHAT PART OF "DAY AND NIGHT CYCLE" DO YOU FAGGOTS NOT UNDERSTAND?
Jacob Sullivan
Fuck the sun Daylight sucks
Xavier Brooks
I love how Yea Forums dicksucks Dredd a ton, yet that movie was cyberpunk and took place entirely in sunlight fucking crybabies gonna ruin this game now
Jace Powell
>yet another "grimdark" neon flooded, back alley dystopian cyberpunk game for there to be "yet another" we'd have to have some in the first place niggeeeeeeeerrrrrr
I hope they change it to the superior 3rd person camera
Christian Bennett
wtf happened to jennifer lawrence's face?
Justin Gonzalez
Sunshine in California is a fucking overdone setting.
If it was Cyberpunk but set in the Australian Outback or some shit? I could dig it. But not that GTAV shit they showed off.
Samuel Long
Hah, you thought we were a loud minority! Yeah now they're going to do that out of spite.
Leo Flores
They've done this before. When Yennefer was first revealed incels complained that she was too ugly and so they changed her. CDPR called the revelation of their fanbase as petty retards "disappointing" at the time.
Aiden Reyes
Yea Forums is flooded with the dumbest of the dumb. Even a legit brain damaged person would look at the average Yea Forums poster and think "Well at least I'm not THAT fucking brain damaged"
Xavier Brooks
Why the sudden change? What happened?
Ethan Ramirez
Cyberpunk is a theme, you semantic sperg.
Tyler Sanders

If they keep in their forced lgbtq nonsense then i refuse to purchase and support them.

tell them to add holographic animu girls copious references to contemporary american culture as conspicuous discussions between characters about "history"
Nathan Peterson
>If it was Cyberpunk but set in the Australian Outback or some shit?
No, first person is superior, they better not cave on this or I am DONE with CDPR.
Mason Ortiz
Based. Fuck gta fags
Nathan Nguyen
Still no third-party mode?
Adam Taylor
The sun is supposed to be blocked by smog. You know, the environment is supposed to be fucked by corporations. Have you ever read a single cyberpunk book?
Michael Bennett
Fuck off nigger first person camera fucking sucks
Christian Jenkins
They better not fucking add third person.
Anthony Davis
in cyberpunk 2077 the corporations worked together to get rid of all pollution. its in the lore.
Ethan Moore
>The one change the demo did have is you could now play as male V as well. I was interested to see that regardless of the gender you always seem to wake up in the morning with a male companion.
>Weber: In this demo at least you will always wake up to another man, so we can show different kinds of relationships will be part of the game, and players will be able to choose what kind of character they want to play. now stop focusing on gay shit
Gavin Clark
Sounds like an awful choice. Cyberpunk is supposed to be a dystopia, not a utopia.
Joshua Hughes
First person makes for the best and most impactful combat
apparently pollution requires thick smog, who knew
Cameron Ross
day should be so smoggy that it doenst even seem like day
Austin Garcia
Those poor bastards at graphics departament in CDPR must be having a really good time now! (I hope they will see a real sun one day!)
Xavier Garcia
I believe they are making a sequel of sorts to beneath a square sky so you might actually get outback cyberpunk soon.
Liam Russell
I genuinely do not remember the sun ever appearing in the original Blade Runner, and I think it was in like 2 scenes in the new Blade Runner.
William Rivera
>do a lousy job trying go grasp cyberpunk using the same weather system from Witcher 3 >surprised it backfires
William Williams
In ghost in the shell they use nanomachines to clean pollution, are you gonna tell me ghost in the fucking shell ain't cyberpunk.
Robert Hall
They use it to clean pollution unsuccessfully, there is still a lot of it.
William Morgan
waste of mana
Joshua Wright
yeah much better to look like generic GTA shit that has nothing to do with cyberpunk
Carter Nguyen
not cdpr's fault that in cyberpunk 2077 the corporations are actually competent
Jacob Edwards
It is completely their fault. They wanted to appeal to the gta crowd.
Ryan Butler
no for a variety of reasons i am tired of getting into that have nothing to do with the visibility of the sun actually why the fuck do you people argue over the authenticity of this shit so frequently rather than what it is that you want
Nathan Robinson
It can still be a dystopia with a few good elements.
Charles Morgan
>he doesn't want cyberpunk in the desert >tall glass towers shining in the distance in a hundred colours >cool and pleasant within extending under ground into a labyrinth of labs and complexes >mounted sprinklers fill the air with a misty cool fog that engulfs the Oasis os the city >the poor districts stretching out from the center, hot concrete under the sun, the city bustling under the cover of cloth and roof >streets that are almost tunnels filled with the hot stench of oil and chemicals pouring from industry district >arrogant cloaked tribesmen walking in formation, back from the wastes >everybody is breathing through a filter to keep the dirt and chemicals out everybody has dark glasses because the glass towers can blind you with their reflections and the sun is actually a problem
Nicholas Sanchez
I know the medical nanomachines didn't actually work but I haven't seen the last couple episodes yet so I was unsure if they also didn't work on pollution.
Cooper Green
>I genuinely do not remember the sun ever appearing in the original Blade Runner
You don't ever really see the sun in the film but there's several scenes set during daylight. They are all interior shots so all it really means is the set is lit as if the sun is providing illumination. Here's an example so nobody can really fault you for saying you don't remember the sun ever being in the film.
So what will happen is that they will shovel dark gameplay in people's face to make retards who understand nothing buy the game then it will be the same as what was shown. A good thing I guess.
Logan Jones
How the fuck is it utopia? Do you even know what that means?
Noah Collins
I expect giant buildings that dwarf the burj khalifa surrounding everywhere like an endless forest where it’s so smoggy you can’t even see the tips of this buildings because of the dreary grey smog enveloping the jungle of skyscrapers. But instead it looks like a slightly futuristic average cityscape. They fucked up from the beginning.
Jason Fisher
Whats wrong with adding 3rd person mode?
Benjamin Robinson
yes having magic technology that eliminates pollution sux
Cyberpunk: >counter culture - dark, brooding, thoughtful, meditative, sex and drugs. paints a hopeful picture that the poor masses can overcome the rich elite. a "truthful" genre about humanity's nature
NuCyberpunk >mainstream culture - bright, tacky, shallow, cheap, flashy aesthetics with sex and drugs hidden away in favor of mainstream america's favorite thing: a lot more action & violence. paints a censored and hopeless picture that all rebellions against the ultra-rich are doomed to fail, handed down to you by ultra-rich publishers
Jack Foster
Cyberpunk is a genre about the evils of capitalism and corporations.
Modern video games are colossal blockbuster-budget items made by megacorporations that fully believe in capitalism and corporatism.
Therefore there will never be another good cyberpunk video game.
Luis Perry
no cyberpunk is not about you overthrowing capitalism
Christian Flores
Turd person ruins immersion and ruins gameplay too. Shooting in turd person is garbage, and I want a real shooter, not some uncharted shit.
It's not completely eliminated you moron. Oil run out and since then they've had to use alcohol based fuels which just happen to be cleaner. If you had actually paid any attention to the gameplay demo instead of all those dicks you were sucking you might have seen all the filth, grime and garbage everywhere.
Isaiah Peterson
So you mean it actually has a chance of looking good and like actual cyberpunk this time and not just a slightly futuristic gta v?
Evan Nelson
>not liking more action and violence in cyberpunk
The fuck you want, endless scenes of people talking about boring ass shit? Fuck that, I want bitches with katanas slicing off heads during thunderstorms inside factories.
my man cyberpunk is an explicit rejection of techno-utopianism in scifi
Cameron Lopez
>I get what I want >you get mad as fuck Man, looks like I double win.
Matthew Bell
Modern Deus Ex has made up "facts" to invent a fictional oppression as well.
Angel Price

Nathan Lee
What said. There are almost fucking none of these types of games to begin with, everyone will (rightfully) praise it. It's what everyone has wanted to begin with
I'm cool with an option for it but if they force third person I'm gonna have to pass on this one, chief I doubt they will even have an option though. It's a lot of effort to re-do all cutscenes with an optional third person perspective. Some of them were clearly designed with first person in mind (good example being the scene where V gets new eyes). They also said they want the entire game to be from the perspective of V's cybernetic right eye.
Jason Wood
>he still thinks Cyberpunk is a general idea or genre instead of a specific reference to a specific work named "Cyberpunk"
>hurr I was addressing the fact that you do see the sun directly in the film. And see and to further be BTFO
Nolan Watson
why the long face
Nathan Wood
Do you really have such a low IQ that you don't understand how megacorporations blotting out the sun with their greed is a good thematic choice for cyberpunk?
Ethan Moore
Syndicate Satellite Reign Shadowrun, and its barely cyberpunk Blood Dragon Saints Row 4 even if the game is full of quips and levity E.Y.E All Walls Must Fall Katana Zero Brigador
But sure, it does not exist at all.
Evan Wilson
It's genesis was a heavy focused on class conflict, not the dangers of technology and how it will destroy the world or any of that crap. That's what the "punk" in cyberpunk is there for. The father of cyberpunk, Philip K. Dick, was raised to be communist and a lot of that is evident in his work.
Gabriel Mitchell
>being excited for FPS GTA Yikes. Sure is normalfag in here.
It's less immersive and the game wasn't designed for it. The game is supposed to have tons of verticality, third person ruins it because it's not possible to have the camera work right when staring way up at tall structures. The camera will be up your back or in the floor.
Brayden Harris
jesus, the underage on Yea Forums really make themselves known in cyberpunk threads
Lincoln Jackson
nah reskinned gta looks more cyberpunk than that shit lol

Carter Morris
it's weird how so many are fixated on blade runner's aesthetic most of the movie takes places at night because of deckard's line of work, not because the sun is non-existent
>everyone is stupid in here great post would upvote again
Angel Adams
Sounds like you're just rehashing words without actually explaining what they mean.
>its less immersive Its less immersive to see what your character looks like? The argument seems completely arbitrary. Unless you're playing VR, it makes no sense, and this game wont be released on VR anyway.
>The game is supposed to have tons of verticality, third person ruins it because it's not possible to have the camera work right when staring way up at tall structures. The camera will be up your back or in the floor Cutscenes exist.
William Miller
It's like making a vampire movie about vampires who sparkle in the sun
Eli Butler
>the sun is non-existent Why do you keep brainlessly repeating this same line over and over when it was already refuted thousands of times?
I'm just going to start doing what you do.
The sun exists in good cyberpunk but is blocked by smog thanks to corporate greed. The sun exists in good cyberpunk but is blocked by smog thanks to corporate greed. The sun exists in good cyberpunk but is blocked by smog thanks to corporate greed. The sun exists in good cyberpunk but is blocked by smog thanks to corporate greed. Christopher Bailey
>game advertises as being fully customizable character creation >you can't see your character on screen LMAO
Colton Jackson
Play an fps. Look up as high as you want. It works fine, like your eyes in real life. Play a turd person game. Try to look up as high as you want. Oh wait, you can't, the camera has to stop or it wigs the fuck out and goes in the floor or in your character's back or even through them. It looks ugly. And combat is more immersive in first person. You don't see behind yourself when you fight, do you? Turd person creates cuckolds, its like how with porn people get so used to watching another guy's body fucking as they get aroused by it, they inevitably become cuckolds. Turd person actually cucks the player by forcing them into the observer role as a character performs the actions they wish they could be doing. First person means YOU are doing those actions.
Easton Stewart
You don't even know what that word means do you
Parker Nguyen
>hurr I'm a huge retard let me act like a twitter sperg durr Fuck off, smog is determined by the weather. It doesn't blanket the sky constantly and even if it did, it wouldn't be enough to blot out light completely unless it was catastrophe level bad and everyone would be chocking to death.

fucking lol'd at 2B showing up. here, have the excluvise reveal of the upcoming collector's edition for CB 2077
you've been corrected multiple times in this thread with evidence and your response is always to make up some bullshit headcanon to justify some stupid obsession with some dark edgy neon lights aesthetic
Bentley Foster
Ah yes, the standard teenager's gambit: when you lose an argument, just shit your pants and say "Shut up, I-I'm right"
Oliver Peterson
you have never read a book in your life philip k dick was one of the new wave authors, where you can find more than a little skepticism for meta-narratives of progress, and his work most associated with cyberpunk is "do androids dream of electronic sheep?" this is the story that bladerunner is derived from. it entails humanity ruining the earth with nuclear weapons and developing androids to be used as slaves for martian colonization and then hunting and killing them when they escape. holy yikes
Landon Gonzalez
>play fallout >neat I can look up like I normally do in 1st person mode >change to 3rd person mode >hears someone autistically screaming about how it ruins immersion in the background >"NOOOO STOP ENJOYING WHAT I DON'T ENJOY" >tune it out and immerse myself in 3rd person mode What's the issue? Other than you being an autistic retard.
Lucas Walker
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE GAME HAS NIGHT TIME????? FUCK WHAT DO WE DO SUNBROS THIS CAN'T BE HAPPPENING
Kayden Gray
The people you should avoid are those who speak in faux-apathetic lowercaps at all times. To be clear, I'm not talking about people who speak without grammar in games in order to get their messages out faster. I'm talking about those who sit down to compose an image board post with all the time in the world and willfully choose to omit punctuation and capitalization. They are not doing this to save time. In fact, they may take additional time to redact habitual grammar from their posts.
Their motivation for this style of posting is simple. They are trying to present an aura of apathy. They want to communicate: "I don't care about anything, least of all the rules of grammar." The reason they work so hard to cultivate this image of emotional invulnerability is because they are, in actual fact, extremely emotional and unstable people. If you become close to them you will catch glimpses of the volatility lurking beneath their patchwork mask of cool indifference. The lowercaps poster will silently catalog transgressions you have in its eyes committed. You will only become aware of them during the rare tantrum blowups that characterize these people. They must be avoided for your own good. The faux-apathetic lowercaps posters really could not be more pathetic.
Nicholas Jones
>The sun exists in good cyberpunk but is blocked by smog thanks to corporate greed.
That would make sense if cyberpunk was set during the height of the industrialization 150 years ago. The sun being blocked by smog is dieselpunk bullshit, not cyberpunk.
Levi Brown
The sun is racist
Leo Flores
Are you sure they aren't just fucking retards?
I mean, look at He's obviously low in IQ.
Brayden Foster
Love how you ignored the part about the camera wigging out when you try to view up at the sky or tall buildings in turd person mode.
Anyway, first person melee combat is more immersive too:
fps is best for realistic combat systems for maximum immersion, turd person gets you shit like japanese anime garbage
Gabriel Butler
ABSOLUTELY BTFO. what they meant to say was there were no popular games for normies and Yea Forums is full of normies.
Angel Jones
>how to spot a phoneposter 101

Daniel James
Exactly this. The teaser not only looked great, it actually looked like Cyberpunk. They can fuck off with the GTA V clone shit they showed last time.
Chase Gomez
How can this be....I thought cdpr was on the sunphile side.....I don't want to lose to the cuckrunners after all this time I spent shilling for CyberGTA.....
Ryder Ramirez
I doubt it. CDPR is probably going to do what they want to, just like Witcher 3.
Faggots crying about what they want are precisely that, faggots. You have to judge something for the quality of what it is rather than the delusional expectations you put on it. Nobody cares you want altered carbon the game.
Jason Edwards
The original teaser was boring and the same old "cyberpunk" shit we always seen. The music sucked too, that personal responsibility crap. The new trailer looked better with way more fitting music.
Have any of you seen that original teaser trailer recently? shit looks awful, like some cheesy deviantart wallpaper from 2007 made by somebody from moldovia or something.
I mean granted the current aesthetics are pretty lame too but it'd be even lamer with the old aesthetics.
That is a lot more immersive combat than watching nathan drake or nero punch people as you sit there like a cuckold directing them with your controller. How is turd person any different from being some white cuck telling the black bull how to fuck your wife?
Hudson Myers
i write posts like this because i know it makes autistic people angry and that is funny
Ian Moore
the camera only wigs out in turd person games, which are less immersive than first person, yes.
Aaron Thomas

Cyberpunk is almost never this. It more often than not posits there is ALWAYS going to be a class system you can't overcome no matter how much technology advances.
Mason Campbell
I'm going to fucking enjoy watching le 19% sunfags on suicide watch when the game comes out and is a massive hit.
Aaron Green
What old cyberpunk games had a 1p/3p mode?
The preeminent cyberpunk game is original deus ex, which was first person
Jackson Edwards
Only underage retards think market success and quality are the same thing.
Third person is the console camera perspective. It emphasizes simpler controls and more flashy, aesthetic-based gameplay. Good for marketing, bad for gameplay.
First person is the PC camera perspective. It emphasizes more complex controls and immersive, mechanically interesting gameplay. Good for gameplay, bad for marketing.
Isaac Martinez
>kids on Yea Forums think dude sex invented cyberpunk games
Aiden Stewart
but devil may cry 5 and sekiro have more complex controls and better more mechanically interesting gameplay than any first person pc game
Zachary Campbell
everyone knows the more developers listen to the community whiners the worse the game ends up.
Hunter King

Thats nice honey, CDPR is going to make the game they intended to and no amount of slamming your fists to the floor is going to change that.
I heard they had a huge turn over rate for employees and the CEO is a huge retard who didn't know what to do with the talent he had for the witcher 2 and the first half of witcher 3.

Blade runner is a mix of cyberpunk and film noir. Thats why its so dark.
Akira or Ghost in the Shell have normal daylight.....
Stop promoting your channel for clicks here dipshit.
Dylan Wood
To a weeb anything that looks "just like one of my Japanese animes" is automatically a good game. There's a reason why that sort of shit never sells more than a few million copies though.
Aaron Thompson
Wait you actually believe they will change the game because of the couple of spergs on mongolian ballet forum?
Jaxson Powell
lmfao it will have a photo mode
Eli Davis
Am I the only one who liked the representation of the game in the trailer?
I mean it looked like they took our world and tried to predict the future as accurately as possible which is what true Cyberpunk is.
Gabriel Rivera
It isn't even confirmed, for all we know it can be even more sunny
Jacob Hall
I like it a lot. I think if you take every shot in the trailer and play it at night it will represent what everyone already expected it to be - they purposefully did not do so because that is not all it is. I look forward to seeing it under the "artificial" lights, but it really does look good during the day.
Thomas Nguyen
i will not rest until this game looks like tegami bachi you sun fags messed with th e wrong person
Adrian Collins
You do realise that there's a day night cycle. These night city fags will get the aesthetic they want at night retards.
Zachary Taylor
In every fucking poll we've had vast majority seem to like it. All the hate comes from few contrarian retards.

HR/MD themes are just stupid. Ross highlighted it the best in his video
Phoneposters are the most valuable posters because they rarely have proper adblock
Justin Perez
I know, I am just saying all they did tell is that they will change some things, that's all. They didn't tell what exactly. I don't think they will go in the direction of blade runner, it will stay californian as it is but style can change slighty considering new pic of def character
Wow, corporation can do good things despite the society being fucked up. Totally logical and make sense. These corporations would totally spent billions of dollars to make air cleaner to appease the supposedly dystopian society that would totally care about environment and human health.

i will also waste 10kb of disk space to prove that two people from years apart have different preferences
Brayden Sanchez
Yes, Yea Forums is exactly one and the same group of people posting every day at any given time. When will people realise such arguments make no sense?
There was smog in the trailer and there is literally no reason to suspect that they'll vary it from thick to non-existent depending on the weather cycle.
Is this like when a few autists kept posting the same still image which was the one time in about a three minute drive where you couldn't see the huge cyberpunk city around you and claim it's just like GTA?
Gabriel Russell
What the hell is your retarded brain even trying to say, moron?

Jack Cooper
1. cyberpunk is exclusively western 2. the themes in cyberpunk literally do not work for some reason if there's sunlight
Someone post the quotes from the actual source books. You know the ones the game is based on? They all state quite clearly it's meant to be constantly dark, dreary, rainy, foggy, depressing etc.
Tyler James
You want the top image? Then play Remember Me. It's concept art for that game. I recall the sun being present quite often in that game though.
Gavin Hughes
>we
Ian Brown
why are there whites in california in 2077
Levi Myers
Are the people defending CDPR's blunder just intense fanboys or something? Why wouldn't you want the game to look it's best?
Thats not how smog works smoothbrain, look at China. it's not "a dark cloudy day" it looks like Silent Hill if the smog is that bad. but for very obvious reasons the devs wouldnt do that because seeing only 50 ft in any direction is not conducive to a massive open world game
Thank god, maybe it will be less fucking GTAV in the future and more fucking Cyberpunk.
Michael Sanchez
fucking idiot. This is the only settings where SJW is totally acceptable. It's a dystopia, hence everybody is morally degenerates. Also that the technology is so advanced, they can put robot penis or robot vagina to play their make believe gender bender games.

>same old cyberpunk shit we've seen nigger if you can name one decent game with that aesthetic that is open world then sign me the hell up. The main reason people want to play cyberpunk 2077 is theres not really a big budget open world cyberpunk game, especially not with the nighttime look. We've all already played gta v and watchdogs 2, we don't need another more of the same shit.
Fact is people don't want a cyberpunk game, they want Blade Runner 2049: The Game
Isaiah Ramirez
>theres not really a big budget open world cyberpunk game
Saints Row 3.
Carson Clark
Holy fuck! People STILL don't understand that this is not based on the whole fucking cyberpunk genre as a whole, but on a specific game called "Cyberpunk" with it's own setting characteristics??
Most people complaining about the lack of constant night seem to keep citing other shit. What THE FUCK!
If i rembember correctly the bits of lore i've read in cyberpunk 2020 the ecosystem is, broadly speaking, fucked beyond repair. There is a lot of acid rain and drought in the countryside. however they finally ditched oil, because it became too rare to actually turn a profit, in favor of some kind of cereal-based fuel called CHOO2 wich made agro-corp really rich to the point they ended up buying most of rural america forcing a lot of farmers to become gipsies called the nomads
Elijah Brooks
How do you breath without brain?
Aaron Smith
This. You do actually see the sun, but it only makes th rest of the world seem darker. And even when you see the sun it doesn’t look like the brightly lit world of 2077, but actually looks ominous
Parker Kelly
>don't want a game based on the genre defining movie
Ian Phillips
That's not a rule that every single piece of cyberpunk media should follow, is it? Do you people realize how limiting you are being to any creative endevour?
Alexander Allen

You're stupid.

the whole point of cyberpunk is to include LGBTQ shit. What normalfags can't wrap their head around is that this is dystopian

Nomads? Rocker boys? Those weren't in Blade Runner 2049, they can't be in Cyberpunk 2077 either!
Right,it wouldn't be enough to blot out light. People are definitely choking to death in beijing. Holy shit, even a kid is better in science than you. retard
It actually looks like Sonic Adventure 2 or Sunset Overdrive.
Brandon Roberts
1. Everyone's so starved of content updates for a game hyped like MW2 was, they're grasping at ineffectual straws making big deal out of literally anything. 2. Giving a single ever loving fuck about what Yea Forums thinks
John Martinez
What I was getting out is there is nothing wrong with people saying "I wish Cyberpunk 2077 looks like BR2049" but there IS something wrong with saying "Unless Cyberpunk 2077 looks exactly like Blade Runner it's not 'real' cyberpunk." One is an expression of preference, the other is a factually incorrect statement.
Colton Campbell
>it's weird how so many are fixated on blade runner's aesthetic It's not weird you dumb piece of shit considering the aesthetics are the movie. Ridley Scott spent so much time perfecting everything in Blade Runner.
Grayson Thompson
the setting itself, while fun to read about, never drew me in to actually play in it maybe because it was too dated, however reading about it really hyped me to play 2077 if they manage to adapt it properly it's going to be my GOTY Also I hope they give us orbital content, crystal palace looks fucking dope
Justin Carter
Honestly, after playing vtmb some more I kinda agree that the games needed a bit "darker" tone (in style and depression, not so much no sun". It just needs a more 90's grunge look that world of darkness and cyberpunk had back in the day. (or like Johnny Mnemonic)
Joshua Parker
You should have said that in the first place. I take back my anger.
OP is either a newfag who thinks "meme magic" is real, no matter how forced, or is a sunshitposter trying to subversivly pretend his shitposts hold any kind of sway and influence

not OP, but meme magic is real but in the dumbest way. See many normies and fuckers on here just live to shitpost and meme, even to the point that they never get their real opinions out just post the same damn meme just for giggles (even though no one laughs). So after doing this over and over and over, by repetition the poster actually starts to believe it and the world adjusts itself to make it real via dumbass faith. And we are in an age where more people care more to meme than to care about anything else.
tldr; memes killed the world.

You just nailed. BR2049 zoomers should all be rounded up and shot and then gassed. They're the new Nolan Batman fanboys. Fucking cancer.
>This bullshit "look" of cyberpunk didn't exist before Blade Runner. LMAO Fucking zoomer piece of trash. Blade Runner didn't invent those aesthetics, Blade Runner was inspired by Mobius' comics.
Ethan Rodriguez
Sure, but praising kek isn't why trump got elected, and /biz/ bobos isn't what crashed the crypto at the end of 2017. I was referring to the insular retards who think Yea Forums is the whole world. That said, the bains tragedy was funny for being such a massive coincidence, even if you had to stretch parts to make it fit the bane posting
Cooper Hall
Why is Yea Forums this painfully retarded? Just shit the fuck up about this surface level shit and talk about being a street samurai or whatever the fuck.
Why the fuck is Guts using a gun? Is that Griffith over by the car?
Jackson Flores
>Hope you fucking sunposting faggots are happy hell yeah
Kevin Bennett
I was specifically referring to the notion ALL cyberpunk has to look like Blade Runner because "that is what cyberpunk is". That's bullshit. Blade Runner looks the way it does mostly because of inspiration from film noir which has little to do with the cyberpunk genre in general.
Matthew Lee
Understating Ridley Scott's vision on Blade Runner is stupid. After all he was the one who chose all the location and how the movie would be shot. He decided the atmosphere and all that shit.
Luis Reyes
No, Mad Max is post apocalyptic
also all I care about is if this game lets me make Reileen from Altered Carbon
>Do Androids dream of electric sheep? Is a book from which Blade Runner deviates quite a lot from. Ridley Scott adapted the book in a movie format in a very different way. The movie is much more atmospheric and uses the film medium in unique ways which you can't do with a book.
Kevin Phillips
>This hints at some aesthetic changes for likely the better when it comes to 2077
Saying that changes "are super common" does not mean anything. Expect any changes to be minor and the game to still be GTAV on release.
Angel Turner

>noir which has little to do with the cyberpunk genre Thanks fro confirming your stupidity.
Connor Morris
No. Ridley Scott is not the sort of director that gets THAT involved in all aspects of the film production. He is very much the sort to delegate to specialists and just trust they can do the job right. All those designers, DP, key grip, etc., etc. deserve as much, if not more, credit than him. Why the fuck do you think Ridley Scott movies rarely look alike? Why do you think he's incredibly inconsistent? It's because he relies heavily on the crew and without a good crew who can work autonomously he's fucked.
Anthony Flores
>Le writing Fuck off retard. Blade Runner is more about the epic cinematography which conveys emotions/feelings rather than generic writing.

I actually can't think of a single Cyberpunk work that doesn't have at least a little Japanese/asian influence in it
Gabriel Baker
If you think cyberpunk and film noir are closely related you are a fucking idiot. You may as well be claiming sci-fi and horror are closely related and therefore ALL sci-fi MUST look exactly like Alien.
Anthony Lee
>Ridley Scott is not the sort of director that gets THAT involved in all aspects of the film production. lol He was so obsessed with getting his way on Blade Runner that the movie was in development hell for years.

>I-it's simply not feasible to create a sunless cyberpunk sett-
You don't know what you are talking about. Ridley Scott is not considered a visionary genius by anyone who actually knows anything about what he's done. He's considered a work horse. His obsession with Blade Runner mostly happened AFTER the film's release and that's probably due to it being the only thing he did until Gladiator that people would put on a pedestal as a great film. Nobody was applauding him for his "genius" work on Legend or Black Rain or GI Jane or any of the other forgettable crap he's done. Ridley Scott is a film maker who just happened to inadvertently make a few of great films but that's not so impressive when you consider he's made more than two dozen.
Carson Murphy
He's a BR2049 zoomer. That movie didn't really have much noir, it was just a generic dystopian future flick.
Cyberpunk is a combination and Dystopian Futuristic stories combined with the gritty aspects of Film Noir. It's always been that way since day one.
Evan Scott
t. actually never played original PnP just trying to fit in

It's very telling that you list of "fine neo noir cyberpunk" has only three entries of which only two are actually noir and one of them is a blatant rip off of the other.

Fuck off with your historic revisionism. You're just as bad as Anti-George Lucas fags who seek to discredit him for the OT just because he made the prequels.
Jack Taylor
New blood born with memes instead of creating them. They don't know how to act correctly and the older ones just want to fit in.
Caleb Young
Imagine wanting palm trees with sunny californian vibes instead of cozy dark dystopia with mega corporations.
>there are people too retarded to understand cyberpunk The genre is meant to depict a dystopian corporationist hellhole where the rich abuse people and the very earth to the absolute breaking point. Why do the corporations poison the air they themselves breathe? Why do the cops enforce a police state? Just to see the numbers on their bank accounts rise, and to hopefully make sure they or their children don't end up living with the peasants.
Now let's look at "cyberpunk"2077 >no pollution, the invisible hand of the free market fixed it This alone breaks the entire fucking setting. If there's no pollution, the people have no reason to migrate to megacities or to complain. If the people have no grievances, there's no reason or justification to enforce a police state on them. In fact, judging by the trailer, the only problem with 2077 los angeles is that the corporations are running a city so enticing & prosperous people are flooding in, and it's growing so fast they can't keep up. What a horrible dystopia.
Liam Ramirez
Fucking GitS opens in a perfect idyllic garden. The animu had a number of eps set in sunny countrysides
It's better if it's the plan all along. Prey suffered from some design decisions with enemies that were not meant to be fought in first person. Since they've had First Person on the mind since preplanning, it means everything will be designed around it, so it will work
Ayden Gonzalez
Go give Satellite Reign a try if you want the rainy neon style. Is good and fun coop.
Landon Gutierrez
>R. Scott went to shit over time You haven't actually seen any of his early work apart from Blade Runner and Alien, have you? He didn't get shit over time. He's produced shit films regularly from the beginnings of his career. He's a man that needs to be supplied a good script and a good crew or he's fucked. A true visionary genius doesn't rely entirely on others to prop them up. He's a work horse. Nothing more.
Lucas Thomas
But it's a shit game
Zachary Wright
Well you have to realize that modern devs want to make a game that appeals to the largest number. There are just not a lot of cyberpunk fans in the grand scheme of things, so they are going to make a cyberpunk game for people that don't really like cyberpunk in an effort to get them to buy it.
Similar to RDR2. The game literally keeps going more and more east, even ending up on Caribbean islands. No real western fan would like going further and further away from the western setting, but the game is made for people that don't like westerns since there aren't many true western fans around.
Zachary Perez
I want both, but either the palms and sun are artificial showing the fake attempts at hope, or that they are dying to show the death of hope.
Blake Morris
Except you know, the fact that "Cyberpunk" in this case doesn't refer to the genre but to an established IP
Not him but here you're implying writing is the only thing that makes or breaks a movie. It's true Scott needs a good script to produce a better product but how does that cancel out his directing abilities? Things aren't that black and white, Alien's script evolved a lot during production for example
Connor Thompson
making a game take place entirely in a dream is a fucking shit idea, it means nothing that happens in it even matters since it isn't real
Adrian Nguyen
>MUHHH DAY NIGHT CYCLE REALISTIC!! Oh no what ever would I do if the game isn't entirely realistic, or God forbid doesn't take place only at night? Here's another example for you: youtu.be/WB-ik-Bpl0c See that? That's day, yet it's not a sunny colourful scene that looks like it is straight out of GTAV. Can you name me a sunny colourful scene like you see in CP2077 from GitS or Bladerunner? No?
Remember VTMB, suncucks? Did you ever notice sunny days in that game? No?
>a game named after a genre doesn't relate to the genre The absolute fucking state of gta2077 apologists
Lucas Anderson
>Not him but here you're implying writing is the only thing that makes or breaks a movie. No. I previously referred to other key personal in film production, like your set designers, director's of photography, grips, etc., etc. Visionary geniuses can instruct these people with what they want. Ridley Scott just hopes they can make him look good because he doesn't have a clue himself.
>Alien's script evolved a lot during production for example I give Ridley Scott this. Though he may have ruined Blade Runner with his stupid Deckard was a replicant twist he was at least smart enough to realize all the sexual references in Alien were retarded and needed to go.
Gavin Rodriguez
Imagine being this mad about the sun.
Sebastian Harris
Someone post the tabletop's excerpt that describes the game's city as sunny
Angel Richardson
VTMB is garbage though.
Chase Martinez
Not mad about the sun, but I will admit I am kinda upset that retards don't understand artistic decisions and/or think realism should take precedence. It doesn't matter if it's realistic or not, if it helps set the atmosphere and immersion for the setting, you do it. Why not just have the day be a lot less saturated with colour?
Jordan Lee
It refers to it, but it isn't a new world made from scratch within it. It must follow the rules and world from 2020, that includes "no pollution". If you can't understand this, you're a fucking idiot.
>Visionary geniuses can instruct these people with what they want. Ridley Scott just hopes they can make him look good because he doesn't have a clue himself. The guy used to yell at Weaver to the point of mistakenly getting her to tears in order to get the performance he wanted. You have no idea what you're talking about, one of Scott's problems is exactly the opposite of what you're saying - he knows very well what he wants and he's too stubborn to give it up, you just mentioned yourself he messed up BR with his replicant obsession
VTMB was based on an established setting. An established setting where vampires die if exposed to the sun. 2077 is based on an established setting. An established setting where the sun exists and pollution does not.
It relates to Cyberpunk 2020 more than it does the cyberpunk genre, that's the whole point you literal inbred.
Jackson Howard
You're thinking of James Cameron and Aliens. He's notoriously abusive.
Jack Fisher
>game is called cyberpunk >"uhhhh we don't want the game to stereotypical cyberpunk haha" >THEN DONT CALL IT CYBERPUNK if this game is anything BUT stereotypical cyberpunk it'll be fucking retarded. it's like calling your game "football 2019" and making it a racing game because you "don't want it to be a stereotypical football game tee-hee!!!" these people are fucking retarded, they know their game will serve as a basis as the standard of cyberpunk games in the future, and for the new generation will probably be their go to reference to see if something is cyberpunk or not, because sure as hell little zoom zoom isn't going to read neuromancer or watch blade runner when he has games, and STILL they feel they can take "artistic liberties" with their game named after a while fucking genre??? I mean even the original cyberpunk tabletop RPG manual outlines the aesthetic of cyberpunk, and these guys go so far out of line it's not even cyberpunk anymore it's just "dystopian future #23463" and not "cyberpunk dystopian future"
>Ridley [Scott] and I were in similar positions -- he'd made one movie, The Duellists. And he cast me, this nothing, and he would do things like he'd suddenly grab me and say, "Look, I'm not giving you a fucking motivation to pick up your teacup!" And I'd go off and cry

You don't seem to understand that I put "colourful" in there for a reason. Those colours are a lot more muted/desaturated than you see in CP2077, the ones that aren't are very rare and used skillfully to create visual interest.
Jonathan Taylor
Look at all the dirt and slime that covers buildings. Look how shady everything feels. CP2077 has none of that low life grime that an average person can relate to, that's the very problem.
how is it a false equivalence? you can't just spout that even when it's not and pretent you won an argument. >call game cyberpunk >it's not cyberpunk >LMAO it's named after the tabletop game not the GENRE!!!! don't be mad!
Isaac Reyes
That's sounds to me like he's frustrated that an actress wants him to direct. You know? Directing? His job? Thanks for giving an example of how Ridley Scott doesn't know how to do anything himself and relies on everyone else being talented enough to carry him, though.
Jacob Carter
>your game "footbal 2019" is a sequel to a PnP driving sim called "footbal 1999" >retards online want you to make a sports game when the IP the game is based on is a driving sim I thought people on the Internet could read.

That's a bad strawman. Cyberpunk tabletop game is a Cyberpunk.

Ian Mitchell
>not called after what language is your mother tongue out of interest
Juan Powell
That's because I followed your original strawman which was just as bad. 2077 is based on 2020 more than it is the general idea of "cyberpunk" as a genre. 2020 may be cyberpunk but it's still a setting with specific lore that 2077 follows, including the fact that sun exists and there's no fog.
Henry Flores
>ahh the sky is clear today >this is truly a utopia
Over 4 years we were made to believe this would be game. Its their fault to change it without warning, of course people would be upset after seeing what its basically a GTAV mod
if you think that's bad, the story is so fucking awful I deleted my pirated copy within 30 mins of installing the game. It's painful to listen to.
Benjamin Reed
Night City has 6 districts, some more run down than others. V's apartment is located in a district that used to be owned by the Corporations, that's why on the surface all buildings are high tech and not shitty favelas.

Why the fuck would we want something "different" from what the game is named after and the entire reason it's being hyped up? What is wrong with you zoomers?
Jace Morgan
Man, it's gotta be annoying qualifying you're a Spaniard from actual Spain all the time. When I said I got a B in Spanish my GM asked me why British schools taught Spanish.

It's not about the sun, it's about the architecture. HL2 beta looks more like cyberpunk than 2077 with it's boring flat city.

Ayden Richardson
Nah, I just want a cyberpunk setting that enables my imagination, not a generic city with some tech scattered around.
Megacorporations =/= government Governments in cyberpunk are a feeble erectile dysfunction dick attached to a crippled old man getting fucked in the ass all day long by megacorporation powerdrill cock. They are vestigial and useless.

Why are CDProject drones so retarded. The fixation in the word Cyberpunk is absurd. No one would give a fuck if every person who was involved in any way in the creation of the genre went and said how this was their version all along, the point is it looks like fucking shit and that is a fact. Sun or not, i wanted a proper AAA RUINER looking game not another GTAV, Sunset Overdrive or Watch Dogs 2 looking piece of shit.

Daniel Gray
Cyberpunkpro here, wouldn't it make perfect sense to have an eternaly dark and neon bottom, and then a sunny and bright top of the city? With the economic division being portrayed as a literal vertical division in their homes?
Its how I always imagined cyberpunky cities. Dark in the bottom, bright at the top, and a spectrum of natural light and wealth in between, going from none to permanent.
Isaiah Thomas
No, I actually just want something that doesn't look like Saints Row the Fourth. I don't care whether it looks like Blade Runner or Akira or fucking Shimeji Simulation. And God knows I know the original Gibson novels had sun-drenched settings. I want it to look unique.
Carter Ross
Those of you that genuinely believe 2077 looks like GTA V: could you explain your points? How does it look like it, both appearance and gameplay wise? Why do you think so?
I don't see it that way, so I'm genuinely curious, not memeing.
Like Human Revolution's Hengsha or Final Fantasy's Midgar? Although the latter would be more dieselpunk than cyberpunk.
Jonathan Evans
CP2020 isn't your le sad serious brooding nightwalk aesthetic XD game. I genuinely wonder whether people here are even aware that this is based on an existing franchise.
Jaxon Turner
...
Brandon Smith
Come on man DI is the face lift the beta needed all along. There's no reason for purism as it doesn't deliver the fun or the atmosphere as much with missing lightmaps.
No, I want something to marvel at. doesn't look like standard cyberpunk meme, but it's still a unique visual design that makes you go "huh"
Samuel Lee
both games are open world happening in the city, that is enough apparently
Ethan Turner
I'm sorry, it just looks too much like cinematic mod to me. Mainly - overload on detail and terrible lightning. If he would tone down the contrast and give the maps a more flat, realistic lightning that Source does better than any other engine of it's time, it would tip the scale for me.
It's actually just how the reveal trailer was written/edited. The "city of dreams and I'm a big dreamer" thing was very Grand Theft Auto. Also because William Gibson said it looked like GTA and Yea Forums is 70% teenagers who need someone in a position of authority to tell them what their opinion is supposed to be. Never mind that he actually retracted that statement upon seeing the gameplay demo and said he really liked it.
Jaxon Powell
Also you play a criminal, also focus on driving, also full of minigames, also have branching "side quests" small self contained stories branching away from a big spine of the main plot, etc.
GTAV was a big hit about at the same time CDPR started Cyberpunk, don't think they didn't have a good look at it. Surprised they don't have MP and third person.
Anthony Morgan
Personally for me, it's because the city looks too realistic and plausible. I want mega-structures and verticality. pic only slightly related, being on the opposite side of the spectruum. Give me the middle.
