dir sequence then 1 to 3 buttons is the limit. if it gets to the point it's like inputing a combo or cheat code the move is trash.

No, because kinda like Dota the wide spread brokenness somehow balances itself out.
For example, Chibimoon, considered to be the worst character, can still win matches against other characters because she can win by doing a single chip damage instance and then keep cancel backdashing (which makes her invulnerable) until the end of the round but it needs extremely good execution from the player.

DBFZ isn't bad. I just found it boring and underwhelming.
