>inb4 he ACTUALLY names himself xX_LigmA_bAllZ_Xx Let's discuss gamertags and online names. Having a good, unique name is important. It's your identity online and can immediately reveal your personality and what to expect of you. A shitty name for example shows lack of creativity and intelligence. What do you think?
Some points to keep in mind >AdjectiveNoun variations never look good, but certain Adjectivenouns and Nounnouns that pronounce easily can be good >8 characters is arguably a hard limit because any longer shows as "Adjectiv..." instead of the full name >numbers and symbols make any name look terrible >uniqueness is highly important because ONLY Steam and Blizzard let you have the same as any other user, everyone else forces you to add or change if your exact name is taken which destroys its appearance and value >picking a good name you won't regret means saving spending hundreds of $ on name change services on every platform where it isn't free
>using the same screen name for every game Objectively correct.

I don't agree with any of this apart from the numbers and symbols making a name look terrible.

I use the titles of semi-obscure songs and albums as long as they are one word and also don't look like titles. Usually works for uniqueness and isn't just AdjectiveNoun
Gabriel Long
Could you elaborate on why?
Andrew Edwards
rude thread there are actually people suffering from ligma
Easton Parker
>I use the titles of semi-obscure songs and albums Araki?
Ethan Perry
>singleplayer game Same actual name every time. No, not my own. >multiplayer Same simple nickname thought up on a whim from an actual word. For characters after the first one I first try a few actual but obscure jap names, and if that fails, just go generate some shit for 10 minutes until I find one that sounds decent. >web accounts Just whatever comes to mind, never the same.
Blake Lopez
>not using your real name, first and last, where you live, your shitty social media links, and ssn lmao what kind of faggot values ANONYMITY
>Araki? I usually don't go for progrock names, but it's kinda like that.
Julian Allen
Isn't it terrible to have to try to renember which name you use where? Also >weeb names or even weeb sounding names eww
Dominic Morgan
>start with NiggerFaggot5000 >keep changing it slightly until I find something the game lets me get away with I've never picked a name for myself that I wouldn't end up hating in the end, so I might as well double down.

Most people I know are AdjectiveNoun, including myself. Maybe it makes me biased or something but the reason I use it is because it looks and sounds good to me? I never had any issues with this sort of thing at all.
Long names can be too much but 8 characters is absolutely nothing. Regardless, most people just call me by the Adjective part of my name instead of the full thing and it's completely fine and sounds nice.
Uniqueness is nice but honestly there's 8 billion people on this planet and new people constantly coming in so you can't hope that everything you do is going to be unique and special or change what you like just to make it so. It doesn't really matter when playing games, just when making an account name a little bit. Nicknames are usually customizable, and those are what's really important.

>Isn't it terrible to have to try to renember which name you use where? Why would I need to? I write it down for the rare instances where I have to use it to log in, don't really give a shit about everything else. >eww Sure, whatever. I don't need an ideal and perfectly neutral public image, especially since most of my shit isn't cross-traceable. Honestly, if someone just looks at my weeb name and thinks, "wow, what a faggot", I doubt that person would be worth interacting with for me.
Camden Wood
>not just using a game character's name for lols I am not ignorant to the significance of calling upon a gentleman in his room, Spyro.
Jaxson Sanchez
who /Player1/ here?
Christopher Gutierrez
I just want some completely unremarkable word that doesn't stand out. Suggestions?
Jackson Long
>being one of the first players when an MMO or a big MP game goes online and being able to steal one of the most sought after names
I used to have a username with alternating caps LiKe ThIs because my cousin told me it was a cool thing back then in my Habbo Hotel days. Nowadays I use a 4 character nickname that is never used anywhere so I never need to add numbers and shit to it
Asher Stewart
Nobody actually values anonymity it's just a meme
Kayden Clark
