stop asking stupid questions and release the new one, Rocksteady

Enjoyable games with a great atmosphere and cancerous combat that only works in these games, I don't feel anything special towards them though, I think Arkham City was the peak.

>cancerous combat

City > Asylum > Origins > Knight
Knight was ruined by the batmobile and the predictable twist.

Arkham Beyond FUCKING WHEN?

I bought Arkham City on a whim the other day, it's an alright game

Arkham Asylum is the best and City is decent. The open world severely lowered my enjoyment of the games after Asylum.

I got the 3 pack a long time ago.
tried playing arkham knight recently until they forced me to do that cancerous vehicle combat shit. uninstalled it shortly after

i liked more Knight than Origins, but Origins crime scenes were neat.

City/Origins>Knight>Asylum
The core gameplay only gets better, Knight only loses due to lack of bosses.

>deathstroke is a vehicle fight
Batmobile was a mistake. It was some real monkey paw shit.

>Thoughts on the Arkham series?
Good stuff, though imperfect. The series never really expanded on what made it cool as much as I wanted it to. Puzzles got better as the series went along (it surprised me how much the series could occasionally feel like a Zelda game), but the combat didn't improve that much and neither did the stealth sections or bosses. Meanwhile, Arkham Knight outright made things worse with its Batmobile. The story got worse with each game, too.

City > Asylum = Knight

Never played Origins.

What the fuck happened to Rocksteady? Are they even working on anything?

Arkham Knight had the best batsuit ever. I liked how it blended future tech bullshit with his typical super spandex and how neat it looked. Too bad about that godforsaken story. ITS NOT JASON GUYS SERIOUSLY. Yea Forums's Arkham Knight story was better.

I don't mind the bat-tank segments, some of them could be fun. But missing a slade fight is unforgivable.

Asylum. City is quite good and has a lot of variety, but it starts to get into the collectathon business and it's showing a bit of laziness. Asylum was this thing that came at a time at which it would just be considered another licensed game and surprised quite a few people, and it's pretty well structured, with the only real flaw being the use of titans as the default boss. They definitely fixed that on City I feel.

I never tried Origins, because it kinda looked samey, but I'll probably will at some point. I tried Knight and I couldn't get into the batmobile thing, or having this feature where you take down multiple enemies at once like it's fucking assassin's creed all over again. It's yet another example of how destructive it is to open up a world for the sake of opening it.

Asylum is my favourite but I wish it was longer and had a bit more, Arkham City was pretty good also but it had a lot of pacing issues, one minute you are after the joker, the next minute you are after Ra's then you are after some satelites I don't know, it was a bit all over the place in terms of plot. Arkham knight had the same problem for me, the joker was the best part of the game, its just everything else was meh, I just wish they learned from the previous game where to focus everything, even the main villains of the story get shafted.
One thing I love about the entire series is the changing worldscape as the game progresses, really just a small thing that isn't done a lot in many open world games.

City > Origins > Asylum > Knight

Asylum
Anyone who is into batman knows the best part is the atmosphere and the slow burn mystery stories that the comics are known for. Asylum has the best atmosphere, so its an instant win, not to mention the scarecrow segments, less obnoxious stealth segments, and tighter level design

Asylum = City = Origins = Knight

they all good 6/10 games (on a normal scale, 8.5 on IGN scale)

every entry does something better than the rest and something worse

asylum - compactness and pacing
city - story
origins - boss fights
knight - gameplay diversity and cinematography

>Yea Forums's Arkham Knight story was better.
what?

>Arkham 4
>Rape every villain
I like.

You'd have to surf the archives, I'm not going to recant a wall of text. It's been several years and I didn't save the post on this PC. Batman successor storyline still, but it actually redeems the Arkham Knight in the end and was a completely different story based on the first trailers.
