Still going through Utawarerumono. After that, not sure.
Nothing. I haven't taken the time to figure out what I can really do with it since hacking it.
Fucking nothing. I loved the ride while it lasted though.
Same. I’ve completely opened it up and even put the pirated game app on it and downloaded a bunch of shit, but I never feel obligated to actually at any of it.
playing the last uncensored games, fuck Sony
kind of related but which has a more kino screen, the psp 2000 or 3000? i've been hearing shit like the 3000 has scanlines or w.e so i wanted to know
Nothing as it has no games and hacking for 3rd rate emulation isn't worth it
The PSP 3000 has an infamously bad screen.
Aren't the vita games supposed to be terrible compared to the 3ds games?
DQ1 on retroarch. its my favorite autism simulator for commuting
I've been playing a lot of DT2. Slightly more interesting with the decensor patch.
so what should I do? get the 2000 instead? but the 3000 has a lot more kino colors variants
Black Vita > White Vita
Obviously the 2000, hell even the 1000. A color isn't worth having a shitty gaming experience.
Or just get a Vita and hack it.
Vita is shit though.
doing Muramasa Fury mode
pretty nice
Just got my physical copy of Curse of the Moon, so I'm playing through that.
Played some persona after hearing so many good things
>combat is bad
>dungeons are terrible
>characters are unlikeable
>life simulation stuff is boring
>music is trash
Fuck. Is caligula a better anime high school jrpg? Or is there anything else along those lines except good?
nig
The remake is better but the ps vita version is trash like you.
is captcha fucking working now
Gayest console I've ever seen.
Replaying Soul Sacrifice Delta, missed playing this game
Shinovi Versus got boring and repetitive after a while, SK2 on 3DS kept it interesting with unique enemies and the yokai boss fights, plus the cast was contained to the Asuka crew and the Homura crew didn't let it get bloated.
Only fury mode run i haven't finished was Gonebi, hate his play style
persona 4 never could grab me, it was way too easy no matter how hard I tried to make it
3 was much more injoyable on almost every kind of thing you listed
link to patch?
SILVUH
Yea Forums, explain in detail why the vita will never be able to ps2 emulation. is it possible to have a shitty emulator(10-15fps), or would it just not work at all?
Dungeon Travelers 2, mostly. I haven't really figured out what I wanted to do with this thing since buying it two weeks ago. DT2 is pretty fun, though. I just dunno what else to play, I wanted to try some dungeon crawlers but all the Experience games feel exactly the same and I really don't like it.
Too many games user.
hacked my vita just 2 days ago
rate my set up
I wish there was a plugin to stop the Vita from compressing wallpapers so much
>ps2 emulation
>when it can't even get a good snes emulator
PS2 emulation takes more power than you'd expect. Also, there just simply isn't any devs willing to take that job on. The Vita homebrew community is small. Its a miracle that the current firmware is even hackable, if Sony ever issues a patch then its over for any newcomers.
where's a good place to purchase a vita for a reasonable price
Saw your posts in vitagen the other day.
>tfw that one fag that won't stop bitching and moaning about people hacking their systems
Nobody sees the point in SNES emulation on the Vita since the 3DS is pretty much the end all be all system for all Nintendo emulation. I would have to agree with them tbqh.
Have you guys try uncen mod for DOAX3V yet? The detail is kinda bad compare to PC mod but it's better than nothing i guess
Pic related is capture from my Vita
Were you that user asking for it before? I saw your post on reddit.
How's the duke nukem port? I feel like it would be nice to play in bed despite having to use dual analog.
> I saw your post on reddit.
i hope i never live long enough to see that posted here unironically again
Yeah the 3DS plays the NES/SNES/GB/GBC/GBA/DS/3DS + Other random systems perfectly in one package. Why bother with the Vita when that exists? The Vita has a way better screen but these are low res 2D games. The Vita is for PS1/PSP/Vita games.
Mary Skelter is ok
Compile Hearts' other crawlers are pretty bad
the Experience ones are absolutely massive asset rehashes but I liked them a lot, Stranger and Demon Gaze get a bit of a pass for having common background lore
Unless you're relying on Yea Forums to make mods, then you're gonna be diving into reddit for homebrew pretty much always. That's just the truth of it, you're only limiting yourself by denying that.
Experience are the Compile Heart of DRPG devs. That being said, SoSC was fun if a little bullshit sometimes.
I'll give Mary Skelter a shot. Stranger honestly didn't feel bad to me but noticing how across all the games its just flipping assets, it turned me off quite a bit.
Anyone wanna play COD or Killzone?
playing through the vanillaware collection
just got to cornelius in odinsphere
I'll play Killzone with you Bocchi.
I wouldn't mind playing in the future, but I don't plan on playing Killzone online until I at least finish the campaign. I'm playing other games right now, though.
I haven't been in the mood to fap so I haven't yet.
That shit was the funniest thing lol
3 and 5 are vastly superior, p4 is kind of like a slice of life anime if it was a game and is very lighthearted
>have one mostly hacked, need to bring the hacks up to date so I can actually use SD2Vita
>can't be bothered
I'll do it eventually, if only to give me more options of things to do for a possible 15 fucking hour plane flight in my near future.
felix?
Do it very soon. They'll patch 3.7 in a week or two at most and then you'll be stuck for a very long time.
Hope you like Utawarerumono and don't have it spoiled like I did. Fucking Vitagen.
>tfw one of them is still reeeee-ing even though someone proved they hacked their system but still buy games
you can't make this shit up
That was me, I find it hilarious how he straight up ignored that post too
Just recently finished Demon Gaze II (weird as shit that you get the plat with about 1/4 of the game left but...ok then), probably gonna go back and finish Hacker's memory or get back into Soul Sacrifice Delta...I miss that game.
actually, that was me, but eh.
>PS2 emulation takes more power than you'd expect
sad. hoping sony reveals a future portable that can do both ps3 and ps2.
No, it was actually me, bro
Speaking of vitagen, are there any good games missing from their chart?
replaying vlr for double achievements
help
nah m8, why do you want to be me - I suck
>buy Vita on a whim for $150 on ebay
>look at list of Vita games to decide which ones I wanna play
>Persona 4 and Uncharted are the only exclusives that caught my eye
Recommend me some games lads. Is a hacked Vita a good PS1 machine?
excellent taste in pussy and vitas
nothing can emulate ps2. it's a nightmare architecture
just go in the store, and look at most downloaded
anyone elses vita slim sticks really loose and wobbly? I bought mine brand new and its been like that since day one. they feel shit.
Not.
Enough.
Power.
And PS2 emulators aren't that good as it is. Porting them is even more difficult to do well. Alternatively, because you touch yourself at night.
Why even ask for shitty emulation?
Play some demos you casual fuck
>I bought mine brand new
thats just how they are
I'd say no. Even some of the choices are very questionable at best so if it doesn't show up on the list at all then I'd stay away. Nothing else is getting announced for it in Japan or the west either so assuming that's the most recent list there won't be any new things to add either.
>tfw left my Vita at my apartment three states away
I was in the middle of Atelier Rorona
I've been on 3.65 for years now.
Oh trust me I know Uncharted is a forgettable series. I just have autism. My reasoning is that I want good standing to give my opinion on games by playing them well beyond the regular person.
Dumb question but, do I need a second ps memory card if I'm hacking my pstv? Like one for the vita and one for tv or I can just switch them back and forth?
seriously? how is that acceptable?
most vita games control like persona 4, so precision is not required
Oh sorry. I thought you were on 3.7 and still putting it off. Carry on.
>he fell for the ''futureproof'' 2000 meme
Here's mine. Playing some Minish Cap, MMBN, and Ys Seven
tranny?
Sexy
Vanillaware are so good. Too bad it looks like we'll never get 13 Sentinels
Played Lumines Electronic Symphony and Persona 4 Golden today.
Tag force 6 full English patch where
How do the Ratchet games run on vita? And can I get them on my NA vita?
they run great except for going commando. Back when i got them i had only the 4 gig card so i imported the uk version physical, but there is no region locking
Only played through the first and the beginning of the 3rd you see there, but they run well enough. Yes, you can get the game in NA, although it's only available as a digital download.
Good to know, thanks amigos
>Too bad it looks like we'll never get 13 Sentinels
Didnt they just release a paid demo for it in japan?
i just want to experience multiplayer again
Looks like you're right. I thought I heard that development wasn't going well, but it's still slated for fall 2019 release in Japan. Vita version did get canned though
god damnit why is it upside down. whatever, you know what i'm playing
i always liked 2 better than 1 and 3
Am I the only one having fps issue with Odin Sphere? When I'm floating in the air the fps is smooth at 60, but on the ground it is not even smooth and it's quite annoying.
welcome to the ps vita
Debating either nabbing a slick PSP go or the new model Vitas. Which is more worth it? Been wanting to play all those Yu-Gi-Oh games. Can the Vita play all the psp shit?
What's the best way to buy a Vita now? Some on amazon are $270
vita has a fuckton of psp ports, and is pretty good for emulation if you want to get into it
PSP is great, but Vita is even better. You can play every PSP/PS1 game along with with Vita games of course.
Having the second analog stick makes a world of difference for games like Kingdom Hearts, MH, GTA etc. so I'd go with a vita if you can find it for a decent price.
If you're just going to play VNs and RPGs and don't care about Vita games then just get a PSP Go, it's a really comfy console also.
Man, that's a shame about that price. I got mine from a dude on Craigslist in 2013 with 4 games and 2 memory cards (4GB and 16GB) for $140. Such a fucking steal now that I think about it
This. I got an OLED model a few years back from some dude on Ebay for like $120 I think. Came with a 16gb card, a portable charger, and P4G. It was in pretty goddamn good condition too- not a scratch on it.
Only thing that sucked was that the dude had updated the firmware on it so I needed to replace the motherboard with an older one that had hackable firmware. These days I'm sure the prices on them are as unreasonable as it can get.
Cute.
>b-b-b-but pink is for girls!!!!
The fragility of masculinity
Look into the framebuffer hack for Ratchet and Clank 1. Even on stock speeds, 544p holds up pretty well (averages at 29.95FPS). It really only bogs down when flamethrowers are IMMEDIATELY in front of the camera or using the guided missile in out-of-bounds areas
I just bought a vita and sd2vita
If i put my legit psn on a hacked vita, ill get my account banned right? No way to use sd2vita and my legit purchases/trophies?
Pink is one thing. Pink and dogpaws for analog sticks? That's pretty gay. Nothing wrong with being gay though, that's just what it is.
Those are cat paws user
Even gayer.
You can still access the psn store with a dummy DNS while hacked and download/buy shit, and no ones account has been banned for playing hacked games thus far but I personally don’t risk it myself, as long as you aren’t doing stupid shit like using cheats or hacking trophies then you should be fine
Playing MHP3 and going to start MGS3 soon, I think. Want to start a JRPG but not sure which one.
Just started playing trough P3P, was comparing and deciding if it looked better on the PSP or vita, but the vita is overall more comfy to hold so I went with that. I’ve picked up odinsphere/dragon’s crown recently so I’m gonna dive into them too
I keep seeing people shill Utawarerumono, redpill me on it
In the market for a handheld lads. If I've already got a PS4 would I be better off getting a Vita or a 3DS? And can you get the regular size N3DS new anymore, or will it have to be used? Buying used handhelds bothers me, not mad on the idea of paying £100+ for something that has been soaked in weeb jizz.
PS2 emulation is a shitheap on PC as it remains now, on a Vita you're just asking for trouble.
I don't play turn-based tactics often, but I like the active timing component (Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga), rewind feature, and the fact that it doesn't drain the Vita's battery fast, especially at 544p underclocked
Underwater Ray Romano is a two-parter. First ones is super comfy but gets sad by the end.
Second one is just a feelcoster and sad as fuck all the time.
Gameplay wise First one is hot ass while Second one is only warm ass.
Well depends, do you wanna play nintendo games or weeb games? If you’re planning on hacking them vita is probably the most risk-free at the moment but 3DS has a better library
Does the 3DS not have weeb games? I'm mostly concerned that a large percentage of the Vita's decent games seem to have PS4 ports now.
3DS is almost entirely weeb games.
damn i would prefer that if there wasnt horrible ghosting, but thats in both of them so wtf
I didn't call you a girl lmao. I would never do that.
trannys arent girls though
Fragile
Where did you get the thumb grips from? I’ve been looking or some myself but I can only find PS4 ones
You guys like gravity rush?
But that would be Estival Versus user
just tell us whether or not you're a tranny. I'd like to know if I was correct
What's the consensus these days concerning whether to get a slim or standard? Is it worth just getting whateber's cheapest?
Yeah but it's probably better on PS4
Should I play neptunia? I want a cute, comfy (non dungeon crawler) jrpg and persona unexpectedly turned out to be shit.
continuing with my Disgaea 4 beatthrough. such a great console, such a shame that it didn't do too well.
Try overclocking maybe?
Get a 2k so you don't have to deal with a proprietary charging and data port.
How do I play my ps1 iso on my Vita? I can play psp iso's fine but not ps1 games.
Love the daily vita threads.
I’m not the poster, I’m just saying that you’re fragile lmao
Why is propriety charging even a problem when the console itself comes with said charger?
Is the new ds xl worth it?
are u a collector of shit?
Did it get to the point where it's emulating shit proper or is it still barely above PSP in terms of performance? I always dig the idea of having a decent handheld for emulation and honestly, I did like the PSP a lot but I don't dig how it handled some GBA and SNES games.
That's not Clownery.
This is Clownery
They like to fray and break and since that model was discontinued like 5 years ago now you're left with only cheap chinese substitutes that fray and break way more easily.
tfw no ps vita 2000 stands
so I just use the sony cam stand
FUCK. I'M NOT CRYING.
Utawarerumono spoilers..
>They like to fray and break
I've had mine since launch and it has yet to break. Also most cords are fine anyway, it's hard to fuck up a USB cable.
Micro USB is possibly the most fragile connector that exists. Vita's proprietary one is not fragile.
I went through, I shit you not, 3 official cables for the Vita 1000 before saying fuck it and buying a microUSB adapter off Amazon Japan.
It's not the connector that's the issue, it's the cheap rubber that's connected to the connector. It starts to fray REALLY quickly.
It’s not the cable but the port itself
>It’s not the cable but the port itself
Yeah, there's a reason nobody uses micro USB anymore because it's garbage.
dammit man, don't waste our time
no its because of higher speeds, for usb 2.0 micro usb is just fine
I hate all this censoring bullshit, but going out of your way just to decensor a couple images feels really autistic.
Not every device is 3.0. Micro USB is universally hated in the tech community.
im saying the only reason nobody uses it is because of 3.0+, what is the alternative?
Ape Escape and Persona 3.
I'll probably get to Megaman Legends 2 as well. That's the one game I never got to play but really really wanted to.
>going out of your way
Takes 2 minutes to do. No reason not to do it.
I'm that guy
Literally registered in reddit yesterday to ask for it
I'm glad it worked
what a fucking pleb
I meant the guy who made the patch.
Not buying a 1000 because of the cord is stupid. If you're that hard up about it, Vita to USB adapters exist.
please give me good jrpgs that are NOT dungeon crawler I fucking hate them
Already played Persona 4, Cold Steel 1-2 and Tales of Hearts
Last night's PSP/Vita thread was so comfy. I love you handheld bros.
>Vita when Switch exists and is piss easy to mod
For what purpose? Not even that much of a fan of Nintendo anymore, but for portable play and especially emulation and fucking around with homebrew, the Switch is the best system ever.
Because the Vita has games the Switch doesn't and is half the size.
Switch isn't as portable, and at least I'm not hacking my Switch until I get the hardware revision that I can transfer my data to so I can factory reset my current one before hacking it.
Maybe he did it for educational purposes. You know, to learn new things.
cute cat
>Switch
>portable
I prefer to use a d-pad.
My dude, I had to ask my gf to carry my switch in her purse since the fucking thing doesn’t fit in my pockets. When I travel, I shove it in my bookbag. Vita wins in terms of portability
Best Mega Man on the Vita.
This. I thought the Vita was a pretty chunky system too, it's on the edge of portability. The Switch doesn't even fit in your fucking pocket, the Switch needs a fucking carrying case.
would you count Muramasa?
>Because the Vita has games
Not falling for that bait
>and is half the size
This is reasonable, but Switch is still portable if you detatch the joycons and store them in a separate pocket. I do it all the time. Vita is as big as the Switch without the joycons from what I can tell.
Seriously I had buyer's remorse for the Switch until I decided to go full pirate and mod the pos. I read that they're even starting to get Gamecube emulation on the Switch, which is fucking insane if you ask me, portable Pikmin would be a dream come true.
As for Retroarch, I'm enjoying portable OOT so fucking much right now, I'm also replaying the Atelier Trilogy which I also pirated and enjoying it a lot. Still, I don't want to insult Vita owners in any way, was just curious on why would you use an inferior system if you mostly want to emulate and pirate. Superior portability is indeed a good point, but I have no issue playing outside the home with the Switch by storing the joycons separately.
not really
but game is fun, I must play dlc sometime
>Not falling for that bait
Yeah fuck off.
How does DOOM 64 run? Is that a native homebrew is it that shitty psp n64 emulator running on Adrenaline?
Vita has twice the battery of the switch
>a different opinion than mine is bait
Please stop drinking the Yea Forums kool-aid juice
Ys MoC? World of Final Fantasy? Exist Archive? Cosmic Star Heroine?
die faggot that ds lite is god tier
Can I play Uncharted on Switch? Can I play Killzone? The Sly trilogy? The Jak trilogy? The Ratchet trilogy? The God of War games? Resistance? MGS2 and 3? Ninja Gaiden? The Neptunia trilogy? Danganronpa or any of the other Vita VNs? Do I have to keep going?
Everyone hates on MM8 but I always loved it as a kid. That fucking kickball power was too much fun
terrible opinions then. most people just meme the 'jump jump, slide slide' has being 'difficult.'
Those games and everything else don't count. Vita has zero games.
It's true that Vita has no games
but only if you had a hacked Wii U. A hacked Wii U + hacked Vita are all you need in your life
Fuck meant Switch instead of Vita
You should have meant both desu
Literally no one in the world owns a Wii U
I do! I still need to play W101.
Should I play RE3, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve 2 or Silent Hill 3 on my PCtonight?
Well you should. Its good. Also i meant switch and vita.
You should
Wii U+GC+Wii all native +a lot of ports from SNES/NES/GBA/N64 and even NDS
Unironically the best way to play a lot of DS games.
Green Vita never.
Convert to eboot.
Red pill me on the vita. I have a PS4 and a switch. The switch is too large and unwealdy to play in public so it literally sits in a draw.
Nep isn't really the game you play when you're looking for a game better than Persona. It's just cute girls, some okay battle mechanics, some lewd and fun.
As other user said, convert to eboot.
Or install PKGj and download your games straight into Vita. They're already eboot and in the appropriate path to run through Adrenaline
Vita is pretty much a city abandoned by Sony, completely in ruins, while its hacking community is like the greens and nature taking over again.
So officially speaking, it is very much dead, but in actuality, it's a powerful device and kept very much alive by the community. And with the recent exploit for firmware 3.70, there will likely be a lot of development in homebrew software and improvements in emulation.
>What are you playing right now?
Nothing
>Also post your Vita.
No
haha no, vita emulation and homebrew is shit tier and everyone in the hacking scene has moved to the switch already
I already got PKGj, I wanted to convert my own JPN version of a random game. I used PSX2 to convert it.
inshallah the princess crown translation will get ported to the PSP version too, making the vita THE vanillaware machine
Native emulation buddy.
If the idea of Vita games doesn't entice you, like they don't entice me. Think of it as a portable PS1. It's comfy as fuck and like a time capsule almost of what gaming used to be. I really love it.
PKGj is great until you want to get into specifics. I learned about eboot conversion when I wanted a specific version of RE1. There's also just a bunch of games that aren't on the PSN store.
eboot conversions are worth it for this reason alone.
Seconding this, how are you playing it OP?
Guys if my vita registers a movement without me touching the control stick it's the problem with the control sticks right?
Wait, do you still get the trophies?
Switch is superior in every way
*Dabs on mad Vita trannies*
Native. Aka slower load times and lower resolution. Oh and missing/touch screen buttons.
Yikes.
So realistic, actual emulation. Really capture that PS1 feel.
>Emulation at higher resolutions isn't realistic or "actual" emulation
Oof
Every homebrew that looks interesting has some massive flaws and it seems like devs aren't really interested in it anymore. Take the half life port, it's cool that it exists but just isn't worth playing since the loading times are just awful.
can you emulate GBA games on the vita?
Nothing is really wrong with Golden Abyss, though. It's fine as an Uncharted game.
>I keep seeing people shill Utawarerumono, redpill me on it
Do you like reading? It's a VN with SRPG levels.
Only thing I give a shit about when it comes to a modded Wii U is the N64 virtual console keeping me from buying a flash cart for the 2 games I don't have.
Mind explaining why? I have a WiiU but never tried emulating DS games on it.
Yeah.
My left analog stick is donked out and constantly veers to the right on its own, how much does this cost to fix?
>70▶
>
>just tell us whether or not you're a tranny. I'd like to know if I was correct
Why are you obsessed by trannies ?
Replacement sticks aren't expensive, so probably not that much. Look up the process of replacing it.
Any recommendations for a GBA clone?
>Still no Romancing SaGa 3 release date
It's not coming. You can expect a Switch release, though. I don't know why I even bought RS2. It's bullshit.
thinking of buying Tokyo Xanadu purely to scratch the Persona itch but it doesn't actually look that interesting, so I dunno. Currently replaying Suikoden II for the nth time
Tokyo Xanadu =/= Persona. It's Ys-lite combined with Trails.
>It's not coming.
It's most definitely coming out, if they didn't follow up with their global release plan instead of doing what they did for RS2 the game would have been out since months already.
>You can expect a Switch release
No thanks, you can keep the input lag version.
If you like persona you're probably less likely to enjoy tokyo xanadu than someone else
>It's most definitely coming out
On the Vita. still?
Yes, either through the PSP emulator or RetroArch
What if I like scanlines tho?
I don't know if there are big problem games, but Retroarch cores seem to work better than people give them credit for. I emulated Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure the other day, and the only issue I had was slight sound bugs.
The Vita has been responsible for the series comeback and it's a remaster made with the Vita as the base platform, just like RS2, everything's on the official site too.
jp.square-enix.com
Sick. I'll put that back on my wishlist. Honestly thought it was dead.
You can get a barely used Japanese models on eBay for close to 120. You could also get a colored one if that fits your fancy.
Changing language to English is super easy. But the only gripe I have is the X and O button are swapped on the system. Not physically on the system itself but the function of the buttons are swapped. Meaning O is okay while X is cancel. But any english games reroutes it back the usual layout. So it'll just be home navigation with that minor inconvenience.
If you're planning on hacking it, you can change X/O back over with henkaku.
Yeah, RetroArch on Vita gets way too much shit. Never had a problem with GBA or SNES outside of minor sound issues
Or just changing it with the accessibility options.
chucked my oled vita out the window when my good goy 64gb mem card corrupted twice in 3 months years ago
That would swap the buttons in every game too though.
How often does pkgj update with new releases? I wanna check out back in 1995
