Every good game is under $25.

2012 ugh

Is Grim Dawn worth 7 bucks?

based

Man, this game was fun. I didn't expect to get so into it.

Not even if it's free, you'll fucking sleep on it

I had just forgotten about so many of these games.

Not even free

Alien Robot Monsters

If you've ever wanted to play a tower defense game where you use space marines instead of the usual fantasy knights and wizards shit, get this

Attached: ARM.jpg (1283x985, 332K)

>Dead Cells
>Plague Inc
>This War of Mine

if you like arpg's it's worth full price
if you don't like arpg's it's worth nothing

That cute red line there is an orbital laser blast

Frostpunk is $30 but I imagine it will probably go on sale regularly
Subnautica

this game fucking rocks

Attached: e91611a2fdd38e8dce349cc5a84b8af0ed909028.jpg (616x353, 66K)

Path of Exile is pretty good.

>tfw you will never play MRutM for the first time ever again

Attached: 1436768470585.jpg (640x480, 17K)

Luna nights

touhou luna nights did turn out pretty well

Just get it on GOG when it's on sale and use a Russian VPN to buy the Eternal Edition for less than $20

Attached: dv2.png (512x512, 560K)

Steamworld games

Attached: steamworld-heist-review-chatting-with-the-crew.jpg (1920x1080, 234K)

Is it really good? I dropped it after the first boss.

are there any robo-babes in that game?

Attached: Pixel Knight.jpg (750x640, 32K)

Attached: Enter the Gungeon.jpg (600x800, 557K)

The main character Piper is about as "attractive" as fembots in that game get.

Grim Dawn is the best ARPG currently available.

not him but it's just okay. movement is lame and bosses are fairly simple but can be satisfying to exploit. exploration is barebones. environmental aesthetic was good though.all in all it was a 6/10

2012 ugh, fuck yeah
>Before the indie game explosion.
>Before indie devs spent more time on marketing than development because early freeware games were labors of love.
>Before Steam green-lit anyone with $100.

What similar games would you recommend instead?

>all this soul
I'm a bit disappointed barkley isn't in the top 5 there though.

You say that like you haven't fantasized about Chop Sue picking you apart, piece by piece, and gently yet firmly welding you into a super robotic monster. I mean, how could you not?

Go play Miasmata if you like exploration and mapping.
Comfy as fuck, and the monster roaming makes it a little comfier when you're in safe areas.

>finally 100% the game the other day
Now I'll drop it and never touch it again goddamn what a slog that game is.

Not that user but some games that I enjoyed were Hyper Light Drifter and Touhou Luna Nights

Looks interesting but a bit too vanilla. I'd rather explore strange and alien places than what appears to be a fairly standard jungle.

It's free on GOG.

Attached: jill.png (454x600, 644K)

Already played HLD. TLN seems interesting but the visuals are kind of a turn-off.

>this game fucking rocks

I can attest to this as well.
Deep Rock Galactic is deceptively fucking good.

Seconding this. Dig 2 is one of the best metroidvanias ever made IMO. Gotta get Quest soon.

>putt putt
holy fuck that's a blast from the past.

No but there's a cute mage with nice legs in Steamworld Quest

How's the character customization/progression?

Terraria
Symphony of the night
Final fantasy vii
Rogue legacy
Hotline miami
Guacamelee
Okami
Yakuza 0 on PS4
Stronghold crusaders
I can go on and on

Attached: header.jpg (460x215, 61K)

I need an abandonware edition of this graphic. Also, play Noctis IV

I wonder what an updated version of this would look like

Fallout New Vegas is 10 bucks on Steam. Underrail is 15 bucks. OG XCOM is 5 bucks. These are base not on sale prices.

>there will never ever be a 3d game similar to Elona.
feels bad

Would there even be that much more worthwhile games? Lots of games that would have been freeware in the past are now commercial indies.

>old desktop dungeons
god tier taste

I see what you did there

Had fun playing Momodora, though it's not as good as Hollow Knight and it's difficult not to compare them.

Iconoclasts is great.

Loved Heist.

Attached: iconoclasts-0002.png (1920x1080, 176K)

"freeware" doesn't really exist in the way it used to

Grim Dawn. The best arpg that doesn't rely on a trade economy and has mods. Its free to try right now too.

github is brimming with great freeware though. I guess freeware games aren't the same because tons of monetized shit is "free" so free doesn't really have the same meaning.

>Before the indie game explosion.
that happened around 2008

Yeah, itā€™s hard to go in blind though. Lots of unnecessary grinding.

Is the paid version worth the money?

any 2d metroid game, hollow knight, and guacamelee are all great games. rabi-ribi is alright but not excellent. I'm sure I know more but they aren't coming to mind right now, sorry

Dang, I already played all of those except rabi ribi because I don' like the visuals.

>The Desolate Hope isn't in the list
>Super Mario Wars is """indie"""

Ruined the list.

Attached: yeah OP is on the loose.jpg (234x216, 13K)

damn, sorry user. I can attest to that other guy's recommendation of Touhou Luna Nights though; that game's just damn cool

How's the character progression/customization? I'm not really a fan of how the game looks but I can stomach it.

>because I don' like the visuals.
Gay. Give it a chance anyway, it's got great gameplay and super intense bosses, probably the most difficult metroidvania out there.

I don't really care how hard a game is. I'd much rather play a relatively easy game with good visuals, gameplay and exploration rather than a difficult one with medicore visuals. gamplay and exploration.

all of them

thanks i buy some of these when i get money

weeb shit

What genres do you like OP?

Oh, so what you really mean is that all you care about is visuals and you don't care about gameplay, because everything I was talking about was purely gameplay oriented and you could've inferred at least decent exploration from the fact that I said a metroidvania had good gameplay as that is one of the core components of the genre. Well, you're in luck, games with nice pixel art and zero substance are a dime a dozen.

Not him but I like pretty much anything that's not turn based, puzzle or VN.

DARKWOOD

Is Blazing Beaks any good?

I think DOOM (2016) is like 15 bucks on every platform except switch right now. Play it if you haven't already

i finally got it on the humble sale currently even though horror games aren't really my thing, fucking loved it

Attached: tAH0bfQ.png (246x115, 40K)

>Executing robot pirates point blank
>Satisfying sound of a piece of shit robot being blasted to pieces
I fucking love this game. The Steamworld devs are the some of the best indie devs we have these days.

No all you said that it's hard and has good gameplay which is vague and subjective. And it's not even about the pixel art itself which is somewhat passable. It's the game being a visual mess overall especially with the awful UI. Also not a fan of the zoom level at all.

on sale right now?

give me good and fun indie games that also have great writing/stories

Degrees of Lewdity

pyre

Action, rpg

action as in shooting or melee combat?

>tfw opening it in notepad doesn't actually work

Like I said, multiple things can be inferred from those points, like how you should assume that good exploration is a given in a good metroidvania or that difficulty comes from thoughtful design and not bad, broken gameplay. I could go into more depth on what makes the game good, but ultimately it's mostly all subjective anyway so if you won't listen to "it's good" then I don't see why you would listen to a review.

Hypnospace Outlaw doesn't have much of a plot but the writing is pretty good and there are a few nice twists. The pacing is kind of fucked though. The gameplay isn't for everyone either.

It's got a free weekend right now, why not try it and find out for yourself?
Mind you I got it in a $12 bundle and still feel ripped off, but that's me.
A bunch of these have paid equivalents now, sadly. Cavestory, spelunky, Dwarf Fortress, DCSS, La Mulana, N, Yume Nikki all come to mind...

Also I fucking love Gang Garrison 2 and I'm glad Soldat is still on the list. Battle foe Wesnoth has just gotten better. Warsow I actually logged into and played the other day. I love how it says "new" on the image though. Dead as fuck like all arena shooters but I still managed to play 3 duels. Was fun. But I prefer Reflex nowadays.

It would have to have Zero K on it; pic related. If you ever played Supreme Commander and liked it, you'd love this.

It would probably also have Mechwarrior Living Legends on it...
(NOT mechwarrior online...lol)

This is quite true not even counting steam sales...
Technically.

Rain World
Risk of Rain
Factorio
Underrated pick desu

Underrail
ATOM RPG

Maybe Furi, Brigador, HyperLightDrifter, Ruiner

Any, really

There' a big difference between just saying something is good and explaining why its good.

>N
Don't lump that in with the rest. N+ was around long before that image was made and every version of N is its own game with unique levels and features. N was still getting updates well after the release of N+ too.

Is Steamworld Quest worth the price tag?

DEADBOLT

Attached: 1457989045910.png (909x1078, 419K)

I dont even care to sell myself out as a phone poster
Why the FUCK does my phone heavily compress this image when I open it? Even opened, it is so heavilly compressed. God damnit, whats the point of being able to open an image if they look worse than the thumbnail. Doesnt matter if I use desktop mode or mobile. The outcome is the same.

Fuck phones.

Thanks for the recommendation user.
I'll pick TLN up on sale

I played Dig 2 and it was amazing. Quest is a snorefest in comparison. Couldn't last 30 minutes. Not related to dig games in any way. Avoid.

Sure, but I'm not gonna start with an essay when you're not interested to begin with, and instead of just asking why it's good you decided to start arguing semantics, which to me only confirms that I was right in my initial assessment that you weren't going to hear me out either way.

Bayonetta
Crimzon Clover
Cuphead
Sonic Mania
Vanquish

The individual Steamworld games are literally named after their core gimmicks, what did you expect? It's not like Dig because it's not a Dig game. Do you normally like card based RPGs? Did you play/enjoy Heist for that matter?

I didn't expect it to be the same, but I did expect that I would like it the same way I liked Dig. I don't mind card games (Hearthstone/shadowverse/mabinogi) but in combination with walking on the map this seems too slow for me. Heist I couldn't get in either but maybe sometime in future I will try it again.

I mean I'll hear you out. I can't infer everything you like about it and it's strong point's from just "it's good"

I love a good metroidvania, but the fact that the game refuses to work with any other controller I own save the xbox 360's is a huge load of lazy bullshit.

>cave story

it's hard

>liero
how old is this chart?
i played that shit at least 10 years ago

It says 2012 in picture, and Liero is actually 21 years old game.

It don't matter. Going in with rando dorfs is just fine.

Its fucking dogshit

>liero is old enough to drink

I'm currently playing Underrail, how is ATOM?

EDF 4.1

Ok, fair enough. You've got a point there and I overlooked that.
I got bayonetta + vanquish for like $30 preordered cheapo bonus thing
blood is fucking great, all build engine games are, really. Do you seriously use a fucking weapon wheel though?

not bad for off the top of your head
i honestly forgot about VVVVVV
snipperclips i can vouch for if you have a friend to play it with, not sure about the rest really.

for?

>21 years old
I miss the stupid little games of that era. Turboraketti and various other cave shooters with subtle little differences. Triplane Turmoil. Minebombers. Tapan Kaikki 3.

And above all else, I miss having friends to play all this with.

after looking up dildo tank and facade I knew this list is shit. There are so good flash games and adult games, this list is mocking good free games...

>under $25
lmao

With the exception of paying $10 for Shovel Knight, I can't remember the last time I paid more than $5 for a game. My backlog is out of control just from getting free games and buying bundles and other assorted classics/indies for $1 to $5. With more games than I'll have time to play before I'm dead, why would I spend more the price of a sandwich on fucking anything?

Give me indie games with cute waifus. Bonus points if monster girls

see

Played that one. But it is good

A Rose in the Twilight is absolutely amazing, my favorite NIS game

What's that in the OP image? Momodoro or whatever?

Yes. Momodora - Reverie Under the Moonlight.

Crosscode
Monolith
Kero Blaster
Environmental Station Alpha
Lovely Planet
Momodora: RUtM, yeah.

Sunless Sea

I don't have friends willing to buy it

CrossCode is pretty good.
If anyone recommends you Owlboy, ignore them.

Half of these are interesting for 10 minutes then you either complete it or the novelty wears off. What an ass list

Wrong.

Zineth was a ton of fun.

No, this game really isn't worth it even for free. I have it on PS3 and it's terrible
Concept is awesome but holy shit it is bad.

imagine having such shit taste
Owlboy was OK I got it in a humble monthly I wouldnt have paid for it otherwise but $12 for like 8 games and one of them was owlboy i didnt feel too jewed
Odallus the dark call

>tfw the creator tried to redo zineth's speed gaining/rewind gimmick later as early access but it was in first person and didn't have the phone

Hello Charlotte

Based, thanks user

I find the replayability is not great. Missions could use some diversity.

Great devs, constant updates and great price though, overall I do recommend.

Being a Finnish kid was so cool in the demo era. God bless Mikrobitti hupi and hyƶty.

I love this game but jesus it pulls some autistic shit on me every so often that tilts me beyond believe. I'm talking levels of salt equal to having completely retarded teammates when you are really really trying your ass off to win in a long ass match like cs:go or dota.

I know you niggers who really really like Lobotomy Corp are lurking in this thread. I want to ask you if you like its world more than SCP, and more importantly why? pre tranny takeover of course.

It takes a while to get used to.
Once you do get used to it, you can consistently avoid losing virginity without even having a chastity belt. All while being a tiny boylet who can't even beat up his peers in school without using pepper spray.

Oh don't get me wrong I have over 100 hours in that shit by now I know the ins and outs, but one small slip and some bad rng sets you from fine to leaking cum from all orifices and basically mind broken. I'm glad Willpower is a thing how to help fight off the uselessness of being a qt shota trap nigger but still sometimes you get a bad hand dealt to you.

Not really
If you don't do risky shit, you can keep the trauma below 50% at all times.
Steal, beat up+demand singles, mock doubleteaming rapists and you can keep control above 50% except for extreme cases.
I haven't been to asylum since hard mode got added. And hard mode means no +50% control daily from just being a slut.

I played through it once and got a bad end and unlocked the insane difficulty. Is it worth going through it again or is it just the same experience but with more arrow spamming and dodging random attack patterns?

This shit right here. It's the complete package
-Good ass gameplay
-Slamming music
-An unforgettable story & characters
And it's dirt cheap also there's no anti-piracy so there's literally no excuse you aren't playing this right now.
what the fuck are you waiting for go download it
