Shadow did have a decent character in the game, no doubt. He was a bit over the top with the whole "I'm better than you" attitude, but he was able to back up his claims at times. He had an actual backstory so he wasn't a literal who random motherfucker with convoluted story elements like most of the new Sonic characters, and he had a simple yet memorable design. One of the better animals they've introduced since going 3D, no doubt.
