Stop buying games. Only retards buy games when you could just pirate them instead. There's literally no reason to pay for video games, and anyone who buys a video game for any reason is an idiot.
>but it's like stealing!! Wrong. A pirate was never going to buy the game anyway, so there's no lost sale. That's why I'm determined to convince people who are about to buy games to cancel their orders and pirate those games instead. There's nothing wrong with it because piracy can't possibly decrease sales at all.
>but developers deserve money for their work!! This would be true, except for one thing: Most developers put DRM in their games. I refuse to support that. Why would you pay for DRM? It even makes legal copies more difficult to play. I hate DRM even more as a pirate, because some games aren't cracked immediately. Fortunately, some sites like GOG release DRM-free games which are easy to pirate, so I can just pirate those right away and play them without even cracking them.
>but you should support good developers so they make more good games!! Pirates have a more positive effect on the industry than paying customers do. We pirate games to try them, and then buy them later if they're good. We also advertise games through word of mouth, and tell our friends to buy them. But go ahead, tell me again about how piracy is wrong.
>We pirate games to try them, and then buy them later if they're good.
Pffffffft AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Ethan Hernandez
Without paying customers you wouldn't be able to pirate; or videogames wouldn't exist in the first place. Trying to convince customers into becoming pirates will harm you in the long run.
Josiah Hernandez
you would buy my game right user? I would never use drm, when you buy your copy it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it(except making copies of it then selling it), if you pirate my game I'm fine with that too at least you were curious about my game.
Sebastian Turner
Fuck off poor fag
Justin Williams
I was a dumbass when I was young and fucked up an old PC with viruses. While it wasn't related to piracy itself that just has me paranoid about doing piracy out of fear of fucking everything up again. Not sure how I could actually guarantee not just getting a bit coin miner or something else.
Dylan Adams
Imagine how great it would be for the video game industry to die. You're hurting the buyfag cause saying stuff like that. If the monetary incentive to release a bunch of shitty throwaway games was removed, we'd actually get people who enjoy making games making them. It'd be like the period after the '83 crash all over again. No way to guarantee but downloading scene releases only from trusted uploaders and making liberal use of virustotal on exes and dlls can go a long way. You could possibly do even more elaborate tinfoil hat shit like using a Linux host for a Windows VM with GPU passthrough.
Jaxson Gutierrez
>Imagine how great it would be for the video game industry to die It wouldn't be great because I love videogames and every year I get a bunch of games worth playing. I'll support this hobby as much as I can.
Ryan Kelly
Loving video games is specifically why you'd want the industry to die though.
Christian Bailey
Man, it's been years since I even thought about this but thanks for reminding me OP
>A pirate was never going to buy the game anyway You are retarded if you think this.
One of the reasons why deal sites are so counter productive is because they help ruin sales 10x faster than if it was never mentioned. A majority of the people that jump on the deals had no intention of buying the games that suddenly. The same goes for piracy. Scumbags with 0 morals will always try to steal, even the games they originally dreamed of supporting.
Carter Brooks
Why would I want to destroy something I love? Just because you're depressed and bored? Try changing your lifestyle instead.
>Pirates everything, even free games Gets me every time. Funnily enough, I'm latin american. I'm just fortunate enough to be able to spend money in games.
William Davis
Huh, funny this thread just came up. I just pirated Steins;Gate linear bounded phenogram. I maybe would have bought it too if you didn't HAVE to buy a shitty version of the original game to get it.
Levi Ortiz
>There's literally no reason to pay for video games, and anyone who buys a video game for any reason is an idiot. You're an idiot. Piracy only works BECAUSE people pay for games. If literally everyone doesn't buy videogames anymore because they aren't "idiots" then videogame design and creation stops being a survivable occupation. People will fuck off to paying jobs rather than work for free, and you'll be left with only old games to play.
David Clark
>underage faggot thinks hes a genius for pirating Eventually you realise there is no point. 99% of games are trash and when you download a game out of spite you are literally digesting trash like a shit eater.
Asher Wood
OP is no different than a compulsive buyer. Pirating for the sake of pirating is retarded and just shows how much of an addict you are.
You're even more of a faggot because you admit that you just don't want to pay for your games and tell other to support the hobby you want to kill.
You are clearly intentionally misrepresenting the posts you're replying to. It's either that or you have no idea how to read. I'll choose the more charitable possibility.
Jonathan Robinson
OP's reply for this post will be >Independent developers with a passion for games will make them Cool and everything but given how that people will only work on their game on their free time with their personal resources, better be ready to expect just one game every five years (at most) and it will be a cheap pixel game.
Robert Phillips
Oh no, I'm not misrepresenting them. His idea is: >Games are shit and the industry needs to die so good games get made again I disagree with such an idea and therefore don't support it. It's as simple as that.
Carson Murphy
To be fair we need a hard reset for big companies like EA, Activation, Ubisoft, act...
Gavin Carter
but what about multiplayer games? it's not the early 00's anymore, when you could just find multiplayer servers in pirated games because dedicated servers were a thing.
or is it? I don't fucking know anymore, I kind of stopped playing videogames after GW2 first year
Lincoln Bennett
I don't consume their current products so I don't care about them. Granted, they're the owners of some of my favorite games and are doing nothing with them / making low effort cash grab games, but such a thing doesn't concern me. It doesn't magically delete the older games or the enjoyment I got from them, and I understand that things coming to an end is part of life.
