I enjoyed it, adds quite a nice amount of variety that was needed. Dunno about you guys, but XCOM and other planetary simulators usually start becoming boring in around 3/4 of the game, then start being fun again for the last mission or two.

Wotc really needed better arenas for the chosen fights, hunter literally bunkers down and waits for a shotgun to the face.

While it may make the game a bit easier, I actually found the mod "Flawless" pretty good, since it encourages and rewards you for playing smarter. Other than voice packs, MEC Troopers and Shivs mods are the only ones I played around with.

If you played the XCom 2 vanilla game, you may want to give Long War 2 mod a chance before going to WoTC. Personally, I like the QOL changes in WOTC too much to go back to the base game and LW2, while a totally new experience really feels like the creator was just padding the shit out the original content, instead of make all new stuff, as how LW mod was to XCOM EW, but then I haven't played LW2 that long.

What do you all recommend for a first playthrough?

They'll hound you every so often until you kill them in their fortresses, but you've got a lot of work to do to get there. also they're mainly going to try to daze one of your troops and either interrogate them on the spot or kidnap them, if the latter happens you'll have to wait for an opportunity to rescue them.

After a few missions, one will start pestering you, the others will show up on other parts of the world map. They will attempt to capture your dudes, rather than killing them.

Imagine, if you will, if the Chosen and the Rulers could appear in the same mission at the same time.

Also, if you have "Lost and Abandoned" on, you'll do a special mission that introduces the Reapers, Skirmishers, and the Assassin, as well as The Lost. You'll always have the Assassin as your first Chosen and a Reaper as your first special unit.

I've only seen him run forward to fight a few times, I think maps with "horde sitreps" force him to go forward as he is the only advent on the map. He's good like that, summoing Lancers and Psi Lancers. He also has the best group daze.

Being serious, best warlock moments are when He tells you about the horrors coming in X-com 3. He says they are on par with the elders in terms of being magic beings, but they are lot more powerful than the elders. Coming from a guy who sees the elders as gods that's pretty scary. He also uses a tone for once where he doesn't mock you, but is like "shit is going to be real bad" .

Actually, the Warlock was a human child with incredible psionic ability that an Advent unit discovered. He proceeded to obliterate the unit with his powers, which drew the attention of the elders and they took him in and worked on him to make him what he became.

I think The chosen should have been the Avatars. So if you fail the ticker then those three spawn.

I haven't played the newest DLC, but isn't there a new set of pre-Xcom 2 missions or whatever where you play Central after the aliens won? It'd think we'd get proto-Firebrand or him exclusively for those missions.

definitely, the two new classes are great fun (bordering on broken). The Chose can be extremely obnoxious and sometimes straight up unfair, but they really do mix things up for the better.

Got Xcom2 for cheap right before the DLC came out, played it and loved it, got a little upset how I finished everything too qucikly and wanted more flesh from it.
See the dlc that its cheap if you already own the game, buy it

Its the best DLC out there I've come across, so worth it, almost upset I didnt get it on the first playthrough but It did end up making me play thourgh the game a whole nother time.
