Never played a single one. In what order should i start with? People told me to skip DS2.

Play Dark Souls 1, DS2 was basically for pVP alone and DS3 was fantastic but also has a lot of its value in nostalgia.
DS1 is an absolute story masterpeice. Read all the items and try to peice the story together.
Bloodborne arguably and I can't believe Im saying it has a better story than DS1.
Just do yourself a favor and play DS1 and then Play Bloodborne whenever. Disragard anyone who tries to tell you they are in the same universe.
Same-ish mechanics, not the same story or wold.
Start with Dark Souls 2 then Dark Souls 3 then Demons Souls then Kings Field IV then Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy then Dark Souls then Cuphead and finish with Bloodborne but only play the first half.
Play demons souls and dark souls
Everything else is cash grab filler, there’s some fags that say only demons is good but dark souls 1 is a genuinely great game too
Haven’t played BB though
The beginning, you turd
DaS1 and BB are a must.
DS2 is good. Way better than DS3 that is souless as fuck.
I recommend that you play in this order:
DS1 > DS2 > Bloodborne > DS3 > DeS
Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and BB
You can drop DS3 as well you're not missing anything special
>In what order should i start with
stop being lame, search them all up, see which game speaks the best to you, pick that one to play first.
In release order but skip Dark Souls II. 3 is okay but not worth your time.
Demon’s -> Dark Souls -> Bloodborne
The most pea brain, dented skull ass post I've read in months.
honestly skip 2 and 3. they never shouldve made them. they are soulless and ruin the magic and wonder of ds1. des is antiquated but has the best settings and lore. bb has the best combat and concepts. ds1 is a solid game.
Doesn't matter if you played one you played them all. The sequels are basically map packs with some minor changes in mechanics. Except for BB
Skip it dude.Just trust me it's uber overrated piece of shit.
More rehashed than fucking Call of Duty
DS1 -> BB it is, then ill see if the rest are worth my time thanks frens
>but dark souls 1 is a genuinely great game too
Only half of it
>DS1 is an absolute story masterpeice. Read all the items and try to peice the story together.
Nah just watch youtube videos
DaS1 and BB are the only mandatory ones.
can you recommend any ?
vaatividya is a must. hes all about lore and nothing more. enb (epicnamebro) deleted most of his shit because hes a sperg but left his ds1 playthrough which holds all the ds1 content you could need in there
Play them in order of release. And yes skip Dark Souls 2 it may as well be a parody. Not in a funny way either.
>vaatividya is a must.
These threads are so fucking fake. Same obsessed nerd souls fans making the same threads over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over again.
It's not OBJECTIVELY not that big of a franchise to warrent this kind discussion
whats wrong with him? i heard that he may have stolen some content which im not sure is true but aside from that his lore videos are great. youre not cool for liking small subscribers with shitty mics who also make lore videos
>vaatividya is a must.
Play sekiro first
All he does is take stuff from the community and dress it up with palpable production values. There are far better Souls lore figures than VaatiVidya.
there is quite literally nothing wrong with that. if i want to learn something i want to have it be displayed in the most pleasing way possible. his videos are well made and have good info and are displayed very well.
Here's a flowchart
>Do you have a PS3
Start with Demons. Otherwise, move onto Dark Souls 1.
>Hey, that was pretty good. This series has my interest.
Move to Dark Souls 3
>I can't sleep at night without thinking of Dark Souls. I'm starving for more, please just give me as much as possible.
move to Dark Souls 2
>Eh, it was alright. Feels slow and janky, not really my thing.
Move to Bloodborne or Sekiro.
Play them all
>Des is it's own self contained adventure and is essentialy the father to Dark Souls. It has varying quality across the game, but nothing bad enough to ruin the game.
>Ds1 is a partial reimagining of Des with a mix of its own unique ideas and imagery from Berserk. The quality is pretty high for most of it, but it noticeably declines near the end.
>Ds2 (Sotfs) is a different take on the gameplay formula, but it keeps the partially medieval aesthetic. This one is more fun to play with friends and it gets better later on as it adds additional enemies to the NG+ modes. The quality is far more consistent over all, but the high points don’t go quite as high as the previous games.
>Bloodborne is a different type of game entirely. It still has many of the basic concepts of souls, but it is designed with a far more agressive playstyle in mind. Unfortunatley, the quality is all over the place. Some of the areas are great, but others are bland and forgettable. Some of the Bosses are fucking fantastic, while others should have been cut from the game. Also be ready for reused enemies, Bloodborne features a lot of those.
>DS3 is mix of DES, DS1 and BB. Its more linear, but it has some great bosses and if you like pvp, then this is the game for you. Quality is consitently okay with a few spikes to high quality here and there.
>subjecting people to ds2 and ds3
dont listen to this guy. play des, bb, or ds1 in any order. they are all special in their own ways and are worth playing asap. dont burn yourself out though.
Are DS2 and 3 really that bad?
2 is a bogged down imitator of dark souls 1 under the same name and developer. it calls itself a sequel but does not even have the same designers or miyazakis name in it. just the "b-team". 3 feels like a soulless, linear, tour through the world of dark souls. it feels like "if you look to your left, you'll see [insert boss or thing from dark souls 1]. its too linear and answers questions that people raised in dark souls 1 without acknowledging that the mystery was what made dark souls lore as special as it was. it also felt too fast as the main team came back from bloodborne and apparently couldnt drop how fast bb was.
