I'm saying that in the context of having only 5 clans (which in itself is a fucking mistake like this user points out ) If it were up to me I'd have 6-7 at least.

Nosferatu and Malkavians are quite unique gameplay wise. Looking at VTMB1 and assuming they'd hypothetically want to do something similar with said clans in 2: one is a walking masquerade violation and the other has unique lines of dialog for nearly every interaction they had (and a few very unique exclusive interactions) due to their clan weakness.

Personally I'd rather have either Ventrue or Toreador be added in later and have both Malkavian and Nosferatu playable in the base game than the other way around simply because they are more interesting to me from a gameplay standpoint. There's more overlap between Ventrue and Toreador, they're more... vanilla. Just my 2 cents.

Hmmm, Seattle is actually a good choice for the game. The city actually has a pretty strange and crooked history that's little-known to most people.

The idea is that Vampires have less to redistribute and all the time in the world, and there's far fewer of them (like 1 for every 100,000 humans in big cities). Theoretically, redistribution of power and resources could work in such a small population but there's, admittedly, no real reason it would work and no real reason why people wouldn't still be controlling dicks to each other in such a system.

This guy. Gratiano de Veronese diablerized the Lasombra antediluvian. Allegedly. There were no eye witnesses. But he led the renegade Lasombra and hired Assamites in assaulting Lasombras castle and he's the reason most Lasombra joined the Sabbat. Yet oddly he's merely the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro rather then leader of the Sabbat or anything. Still he's done a very good job making Rio a highly Lasombra city.

This is a possibility. That Lasombra let himself die so he can go into the realm of the Abyss and attain the highest levels of Abyssal Mysticism. it is what Gehenna used. But then again, Gehenna is no longer canon.
Also while tzimisce fooled his own clan with a trick that anyone with even the slightest knowledge of vicissitude would watch out for. Cappadocius is dead, Augustus took his generation. He is still a spirit. But any vampire can become a spirit when dead. Especially any necromancer vampire.
Perhpas Augustus was lucky. Tremere devoured Saulot's body and spirit and the result was possession.

A human character starts the game with identical stats to a vampire starting character minus disciplines though, so you're not only wrong, you're stupid too. If you dump all your points into brawl and strength as a human you can certainly stake a vampire, it boils down to who goes first, but if you kit the vampire out the exact same and give him disciplines, especially celerity or potence, then the vampire should obviously win.

I was never a fan of playing Nosferatu but I get where you're coming from and I wouldn't blame you. It makes no difference to me. I'd prefer to play gangrel but I was always alright with most anything.

The Nosferatu were when you started so that's 4 more, plus your sire. In total we're looking at 12 Camarilla that we met, excluding side quests.

Gangrel are all but guaranteed as DLC.

Wrong. Hunter and Mage characters start with less Attributes and Abilities than Vampires do in oWoD, maybe they changed that for your 5v. Either way you're forgetting a vampire can Blood Buff as a free action so their physical stats are pumped to high hell even if they're normally garbage. And again, soak. The vampire can soak lethal (a stake), the human cannot. So if it's 3 strength +1 stake for damage (4d10) against 3 stamina and 0 fortitude (3d10) odds are you will not deal the 3 successes you need to stake them, not anywhere near it.

I was always displeased with the treatment of the person that turned me and that guided my decisions. I may not have known who they were to me but that didn't change that I may have had some attachment to them. Your abilities change as well come to think of it. One of the clans has significantly more charisma than the others and allows you to feed off of the people you're dancing with at a club or whatever rather than feeding off a hooker or a junkie. You also open with more dialog options with them. It's mostly stat based but the HARD changes come from Malkavian or Nosferatu. Where you're either so ugly that you can't be in public or you're so fucked in the head that your dialogue choices don't make sense to anybody (mostly) but other Malkavians.

I believe one of the Disciplines (Auspex I think?) can detect diseased mortals, but you're right that it's pretty unbelievable that most vampires of any significant age wouldn't be carrying around every manner of blood borne disease, especially in modern nights and feeding off city dwellers.

That in no way means there are instinctual ties between clan members; if we assume it's true that kindred are subject to unconscious suggestion by their ancestors, then it just means they would tend to act in ways that further their ancestors' plans. It isn't necessary to stick close to your clan to carry out ancient plots.

Also, if we assume Kindred are controlled by their ancestors, then that's all the more reason to be opposed to hierarchical organizations like the Camarilla, as a way to at least make it more difficult to sway behavior.

No because vampires are even less equal to one another than humans. Unlike humans who gain power with money or connections, vampires gain real, physical power that allows them to do whatever they want to their lesser kin.

A single 4th gen Methuselah basically took over Russia and one sidedly slaughtered all other vampires who opposed her, only being stopped by another, older and more powerful Methuselah.

There is no way to equalize that. The sheer difference in the top 1% of vampires means they will always rule if they wish to.
