Can the beat 'em up work in 2019? If so what is the best way to make it sell? Personally I would love to see another great RPG style beat 'em up.

Almost user. In fairness it does get repetitive after awhile in a way more so than even most in the genre I would say but that is probably also partly because it is lengthier I would imagine. I would have liked to see the characters have more variety and weapons have more uniqueness too even if it meant getting less of these things. Definitely their best game at least. A true classic.

I think streets of rage is going to suck unless they have a 5 dollar release or absolutely no fucking DLC. Do you have any fucking Idea how easy a Beat Em Up is to make? Its literally one of the genres entry level programmers use as practice. If those stupid fucks only put in 2 character because they plan on added the rest as DLC the whole genre has to burn.

Least i got through Scott Pilgrim

It's a good genre for local coop.
Mario party games are still being sold in big numbers, so i'd say there is a niche for these type of games.

Any game with DLC is not allowed to be "peak". Try the streets of rage remaster.

Sure but its either going to work, or its going to sell, you cant have both. Castle Crashers and its ilk are terrible examples, bad enemy AI extremely braindead combat, shitty tacked on rpg mechanics that undermine any skill based aspects, dumb co op revival system that encourages mindless play, etc. Capcom arcade beat em ups and things like Fight N Rage are proper beat em ups but they have no wide appeal because they are arcade games, they require you to go for 1cc to truly have fun and they are far too difficult and punishing for most people 5o enjoy them. The Takeover is another modern beat em up that looks alright but I haven't played it.

Well it has enemy juggling so I think it kind of already sucks. The old games didn't have any need for this and are regarded as some of the best games ever made so why they need juggling who the hell knows. Seems completely counter to the great gameplay of SOR2 to me.

Because for some reason casuals love juggling, no matter how easy it is or how little purpose it served. I don't get it either, juggling is cool when it requires good set up and skill and when it isn't overpowered but by the looks of it, the SoR4 system is none of that. I like juggling in Fight N Rage, helps that the amount of juggling you'll do depends on the character there and Ricardo can get by with no juggling at all.
