They created a VR game based on the urban legends about their fast food chain. They scanned the scrapped mother boards to give the game versions the actual personalities of yhe animatronics. They hired Jeremy to bera test the vr game. (It was really to scan his brain for memories from fnaf2 though).
And Afton's soul has escaped hell and is now inside vr game as Glitchy the Rabbit.
It's a new beginning for a new series set in vr.
