Elder Scrolls 6 Expectations

what are, realistically speaking, best and worst case scenarios?

Best case: few areas that you will be traveling across, two or three, each will be the size of Cyrodill map from Oblivion, you will start as a 'nobody' building your way up to eventualy become the king/ruler of one of the areas, this part of game will be your typical Bethesda RPG, once you become the king, the gameplay will shift to mount and blade style where you will be ruling over your kingdom and have an army with which you will be riding around to eventualy conquer whole of playable areas, in the meantime Daedra or some other 'evil' will try to destroy you, so you will have to play on 2 fronts, on one side managing your kingdom, on other fighting other kingdoms/daedra. The end of game will be once you defeat everyone or unite with other kingdoms and defeat daedra

Worst case: FO4-76 elder scroll

The best case scenario is Todd dies
There is no other way

that's the worst, the besi is Pete Hines dies and Todd is finally free

worst case they make the RPG systems even worse like in Fallout 4, make combat somehow worse, have shit quests, and the map is completely uninteresting.

Best case is they have a well-designed map with distinct dungeons and cities, interesting and varied quests (especially the guild quests), and a deeper RPG system.
I don't think we can expect a big change in the general concept.

I just really hope they don't fucking dumb down the dialogue like the shift from FO3 or FONV to FO4. Also I kind of want birthsigns back.

best case: how best to monetize this extremely popular IP we have but with 2011 mindset

worst case: how best to monetize this extremely popular IP we have

Best case scenario: Fallout 4 without guns

I don't think there's a best case scenario here, they already announced they're not switching engines.
In before that crazy retard who always accuses people of not knowing what a game engine is.

Look at the results they get with an engine they have decades of experience with, new engine wouldn't change anything.

They've been hacking together that monstrosity over the years to support modern effects and such, it's simply not suited for their purposes anymore.

>best case scenario
it's broken in a lot of fun ways that allow for a lot of freedom of customization of your character to allow it to be extremely over powered in fun ways like morrowind and oblivion

>worst case scenario
it's a broken mess built on top of another broken mess like fo76 with a lot of scummy practices built in to run stupid people for their change

They will get rid of the rest of the skills/leveling system. They should just stick to the action based combat more because lets face it, Bethesda wants to appela to larger audience meaning simplifying their mechanics.

All though I expect that I will still be disappointed.

Best case scenario is the game has one quest and dungeon that isnt complete shit. Worst case scenario is we get your standard garden variety Bethesda title. Bugs galore, boring story, hilarious voice acting, human centric and devoid of any memorable lore.

Kill Todd?
What a grand, intoxicating innocence.

The next game will almost surely take place in high rock or Hammerfell, or both, so we’re getting another human game

Basically just a pure action game; not even any rpg elements left

>Todd dies
Impossible. Todd dying is only delayed.

>best case
disappointment wrapped in a servicable base for mods that outshine the game in every regard
>worst case
skyrim 76 with only creation club

I would like to see them get rid of crafting entirely. Stuff like armor should only be able to be made by skilled artisans

Best case scenario, Todd acknowledges that with Skyrim, FO4, and FO76, people are tired of such shallow and half-baked experiences that feel the same each time. They restructure combat, world and NPC interactivity, and create actual living, breathing cities and towns that don't require load screens. Dungeons are much more than just the same copy/pasted shit with the same claw puzzle. Emil is fired or removed from lead writer, and someone with actual passion and fucks to give is put in place.

Worst case scenario, we get Skyrim 2: Watered Down Boogaloo.

The devs are simply not suited for game developing purposes anymore.

user, please; he's the one interesting guy left during E3. I wouldn't be able to stand it if he was gone.

I think at this point best case scenario is just another copy of skyrim with slightly nicer looking lighting.
after seeing them do pretty much nothing to "improve upon" fallout 4 compared to 3 I just don´t think that Bethesda has any talent left to innovate. i am starting to doubt that they even have the talent left to make none shitty game at this point

best:
overhauled melee combat that takes inspiration from mount&blade or mordhau. return of the ditched magic schools and spells like levitation. ditched the "everything has to be synched" crap that makes me listen to hourlong npc rants when I could read over it in a minute.

worst (which will happen more likely):
less spells. less perks. mandatory mobile companion app. mtx. genderfluid characters in every town and the same boring combat that we already had in skyrim

Best scenario: Skyrim 2

Worst: Literally anything else

>best case
It never gets released.
>worst case
Fallout 76 gameplay except with no multiplayer

Todd is unironically one of the best things about Bethesda. Killing off Pete Hines and the board of Zenimax would probably result in a flawed, overpromised, and overambitious but still great game

I like to add to the best case scenario:
full fetched party system similar to dragons dogma but more intuitive where each npc party member fulfill an important role. fighters try to protect spell casters and archer for example, make shield walls, archers target weak spots of enemies which make them slower, magic users heal and cast protective shields etc

Elder scrolls never had good dialog. Morrowind was just topics like "little secret" and npcs would utter some tourist guide shit. Oblivion only had "rumors" and "city". Skyrim was a little better than oblivion but still not good.

worst case, fallout 76 fantasy edition with day one creation club lusty argonian maid outfit

best case, we gt a game with an unskippable 3 hour tutorial setting up our character and then maybe another 2 hours of content outside of exploring copy/pasted dungeons with 3 weapons and 4 spells.

Nothing

I'm hoping the F76 fiasco has made them reconsider their current practice of releasing something half finished and patching it for years after. I know a lot of Skyrim normies who were pretty disillusioned by F4 and then F76 made them turn on Bethesda altogether.

Long gone are the days that they can just sweep how shit the engine is under the rug. Back when Skyrim came out it was, at the time, too much of a spectacle for people to care and it being buggy just became a beloved meme rather than controversy.
76 showed that "hehe it just works hoho" doesn't fucking fly anymore. ES6 is even allowed to be at skyrim levels at this point - the faith in bethesda from their non-drone audience is too far shaken AND they know it's 100% bethesda fault.
It's beyond me why they won't just use another engine/build one from scratch. I'd like to think they're so fucking useless that they've literally got no one in house skilled enough to make a new one, but odds are it's because ZeniMax is too fucking jewish to fund it/purchase rights to another one.

Fuck Robert Altman.

They don't even have to spend a ton of money. You could make a better looking Elder Scrolls/Fallout game on UE4 or even fucking Unity at this point. These games look so dated they belong in a previous gen.

>UE4

The only thing that keeps these games afloat are mods, that's why. If they change engine, people will forget about their games after a week.

All I expect is disappointment.

>mount&blade
>No Dark Messiah of Might and Magic combat.

Please...

Attached: 122.png (398x307, 189K)

How did it get to the point where Todd is the only thing trying to make the games good and yet at the same time he's getting it all fucked up because of outside influences? How can he be both redeemer and destroyer of this fucking franchise

>best
skyrim 2
>worst case
blades 2

All I really want are dungeons that arent fucking shit. Give me cool places to explore with unique loot and stories to tell.

>full fetched

There's no disappointment, because Oblivion will always be the biggest disappointment, ever. I was dying to have another RPG like Morrowind and my dreams were shattered when Oblivion was released. Skyrim didn't let me down because I expected it to be like Oblivion.

They own id software.

bad take you homo

Worst case scenario is it's skyrim 2 and people actually buy it and best case scenario is it's Bethesda's Anthem and they get shut down forever.
They haven't made a good game since morrowind and they haven't ever made a game that isn't a buggy mess.
