They removed the "tank stance" and the dps stance. Now you just have a toggle to activate if you're actually the tank or not and need to generate aggro/threat/enmity. They're replaced with a trait that passively reduces the damage you take and increases your HP. Aggro combos are also removed. Doing dungeons/stuff is literally the same as before.

TL;DR nothing changed

That's assuming Flare in Umbral Ice 3 costs 0MP now, making it worth it over Fire 3, but it looks like it's keeping the "All" text in Umbral Ice 3, so that might not be the case and we may still need to use F3.

Fire IV does not grant astral fire. Functionally not much has changed for BLM. They can just swap for free when at 0 MP, have single target flares and fouls, and have a skill called Umbral soul which they can use to refresh Umbral Ice while granting an umbral heart, basically used for maintaining enochian between pulls/phases

I'm actually really excited for the removal of the aggro combo in general gameplay, since the actual aggro-combo weaponskills are still there. Threat management in this game is the same as Protect. Hit it once then threat no longer matters. Same with tank stances.

this desu, i'm not sure why tanks kneejerk freaked the fuck out about stance-dancing being removed when all that actually changed in that regard is "dps stance" is now turning your tank stance off

except no? You don't get a DPS increase for being out of tank stance. You do the same damage in or out of it, and take less damage regardless. The only difference is tank stance = you generate more emnity. that's IT.

Because much like protect it was a set it and forget it sort of spell that only the the hardest of the hardcore utilized effectively. if it gets retooled i'd like to have it back too, but the original version is just kind of a shitty shield.

I doubt it. According to the LL they only stated they would balance out barrier/pure healing. They stated that SCH would remain mostly the same, and based on the leaks they would have plenty of dots. I think it's safe to say SCH will still have the most offensive spells for healers.
