Like most long running mmos, they lost their way without endless casualization and steamlining to add more billions to their revenue. DFO lost a lot of execution and challenge through mechanical depth and resource management.
And then they replaced that difficulty with MAXIMUM OVERGRINDING and the standard mmo schlock "Do this thing at this moment or you or your teammates drop dead" style mechanics. Which many developers default to since it gives an illusion of depth without actually requiring much more than research, memorization, and time investment.

Enchantress is a bit different compared to other Crusaders.
Male Crusader stacks SPR/VIT (same shit after his rework, so just stack either of those), abuse additional stat increase from his Lv.85 Skill and cast equal big buffs on whole party. Considered as best Crusader in current Korean endgame Raid (Prey-Isys, aka KFC Raid) due to his overall better buffs and 10 revives per dungeon.
Female Crusader stacks INT, can hold and cast equal good buffs on whole party. With Lv.50 Skill reset being killed since Lv.95 cap, Crusaders can no longer spam it, and so F.Crusader is no longer better than M.Crusader (her Lv.50 Skill transfered across rooms while M.Crusader's Lv.50 Skill stayed in one room). She is still good (and a top tier waifu), but she needs additional investment to be as good as M.Crusader.
Enchantress is a bit tricky type of Crusader - unlike other two, she doesn't cast equal buffs on whole party. She cast ok buffs, but she can cast Favoritism on only one party member (even herself) and greatly improve her buff values, thus parties with 1 dealer carry and 2 synergy players benefit a ton from her compared to other Crusaders. She is also, in my opinion, much more fun to play than other Crusaders (especially in solo farming - F.Crusader is just trash while M.Crusader needs a completely different right side of equipment for his Battle build).

And yeah, endgame still sucks - run one Raid two times per week for months and then wait for next Raid to do the same shit. With how steamlined the gearing process is now, you can go from Lv.1 to Lv.95 in 12/12 Harlem (Lv.95) Epics in less than two months. Farm Taybers dungeon six times per week to get better Epics, and after getting them do Fiend War two times per week. Wait until October where new Raid will be released... to do the same process. Korea has some filler content being added, but it's a short-term one and doesn't make the game any better in the long run.

It's because the gore is an aspect of it, not the focus. The series pretty much revolves around Guts being a badass and wrecking face whenever possible. Goblin Slayer is mostly focused on how awful goblins are so that's really what you're getting out of it.

Yeah, grind is real - these days you run Total Eclipse (new gold farming dungeon, akin to Grandine in Power Station) and Disaster Area (where you farm Terranium, and these days you need a ton of this stuff, and by a ton I mean A TON - each Refined Terranium cost 10 Terranium, and you need more than 300 Refined Terranium for endgame upgrades, not to mention Raid entry cost and endgsme dungeons entry cost). Include the fact that you'll run out of Clear Cubes in Lv.95 cap very fast, and that adds up another problem to spend gold on.

Ele was dead ever since Lv.90 cap (aka Shadow build nerf), and every endgame content since Beast shows how bad she has it. At least she's not Witch, who got three major reworks last year and is STILL bottom of the barrel.
Blame the new system of dealing damage in Raids - it's the reason some classes will stay forever trash (like Berserker) unless their whole gameplay concept gets reworked.

The witch reworks were more about making her fun than good. Being able to blow up your shit and FINALLY getting permanent showtime did wonders for her enjoyment.

I think the whole Raid system (especially Anton) fucked up DFO hard, and it never recovered.
It was the same endgame dungeon for THREE YEARS in Korea, and a lot of subclasses were suffering due to not fitting its metagame (because of how subclasses were designed), so a lot of time was spent on slow ass release of 2nd Awakenings (which were hit-or-miss anyway, because some classes were STILL dead after getting it). It's clear as a day that Koreans cared only about getting those 2a buffs - just look at Knight's initial reveal and community's reception (when people were expecting Female Gunner 2a instead of new class). Adding Lv.86 cap as a small boost to classes who wouldn't get 2a for a while didn't help much, so they still suffered.
It's during these three years that DFO went from beat 'em up to your usual modern Korean MMO. Lv.90 cap added more power creep (Earrings) and Luke Raid has shown the disbalance between Physical and Magic class performance, Beast was a big fuck you to burst damage classes, Fiend War was a big fuck you to sustained damage classes, and now Isys Raid is a big fuck you to classes who don't perform well in both burst AND sustained damage dealing.

Iron Beast had 5 moves total, about 100 years of iframes, and was only threatening due to how badly it could run down the clock.
Iron Aim was a normal dungeon boss. Iron Beast was a raid boss.
A beefed up Iron Aim would have been a fun thing to fight. Iron Beast was only second to Haboob (or bondage chick if you had retards) in terms of the "literally why" bosses.

There's so much weird shit in the design philosophy of new DFO. Like they keep adding new content tiers and totally invalidating the last year of work by making it piss-easy to get stronger stuff than you already had. Or how all the content is either pathetically easy oneshots or completely impossible.

I remember when I used to actually use fucking Rising Cut and Shining Cut on my Rogue. Now if you're pressing any button that doesn't suck up cubes, you're doing 0 damage.

Nothing really stood out about the game. Literally just do story until finished, grind raid for gear and done. Pvp wasn't popular or refined either. With nothing else to do but fish its not really shocking it died. Sucks because some of the class concepts were cool and the monk subs actually felt like how monks should play in a game.

Monks are the best class in any game

The ideal scenario is that a solution surprises you but makes a lot of sense immediately because all of the pieces were placed down leading up to it, and their connection just wasn't clear. Good writing portrays intelligent characters by giving you the tools they're working with and revealing the logic about how they found a solution. Goblin Slayer isn't that, he arrives at a solution by introducing new elements that weren't a part of the story before.
And honestly even the magic beam scenario can be better if it lines up with the themes of the story. Dragon Ball establishes everything it needs to to explain why being angry has an effect on a fight. In that case it's not making any attempts at being clever but it still forms a coherent narrative.

Anyways, if you need to know why Goblin Slayer isn't clever, then you just need to write Dungeon Meshi. It pulls the same dungeon crawling with thoughtful solutions thing off way better.
