>thinking aaa publishers will allow their games to be hosted DRM free
They'll stop this before it hits open beta

If they did they would try implementing standard api for downloading and updating games from publishers that were bought in whatever store.
So far it looks like they're promising some sort of framework that lunches games from other platforms who knows how it's going to work. Especially with other stores/publishers that don't want to share their market like Steam.

They are just trying to hype it before cyberpunk release. It will die like it did after witcher 3

They don't need to.

As long as GOG wants no DRM, they'll only get a trickle of games coming into their store.

They haven't explained how it works really yet but it doesn't seem very different from adding non-steam games to your steam library. Not exactly a revolution.

wasn't this literally an april fools joke? lol

>thinking the games will be launched DRM-free
are you retarded? you still need all those launchers installed, GOGalaxy will just launch them for you

>gog has been struggling to get games on their store
>now they've just given up and become a glorified desktop shortcut launcher

They don't compete. You people are retarded. This isn't some magic standalone platform that bypasses the DRM of other platforms. Its literally just an interface that loads up other platforms. You still have to have Steam installed. You still have to have Epic's spyware platform installed. Clicking a Steam or Epic games BRINGS UP THEIR LAUNCHER so this basically changes nothing except maybe a bit of convenience. It doesn't solve the problem of Epic selling your information or risk losing it.

>literally a launcher launcher
this is how bad its become

I use Playnite as my game launcher since I have a bunch of pirated/emulated games. I like it, but if Galaxy is better, I'll switch.

It apparently brings up the launcher minimized so at least you dont have to see it.

Would this then require all launchers to be open at once? I close the ones I'm not using to save ram

Serious question, are Steam and GOG even competing with each other?

Aren't they like on good terms with each other since they don't eat into each other's markets?

Didn't they make like $8k in profits last year? Steam is finished.

If it's done correctly, it will open and close the launchers automatically when the game is closed.

thats splitting above even user, thats a path to profitablibity

>are Steam and GOG even competing with each other?
Yes because they're selling the same product in the same market. Steam is beating them hands down because they offer software security.

>Serious question, are Steam and GOG even competing with each other?
no

how is this different from having a folder with all your cracked games .exe?

Indirectly. GOG and Steam are good business partners (See GOG Connect). They are competing more from an ethical perspective.

Steam already has the perfect place to store my games

They would only win if they somehow get the blessing from Nintendo to sell their old ROMs.

Can I buy Wizardry now?

It's friendly competition.
More than willing to let their competitors grow alongside them.

So it's a launcher to launch launchers?

Ebin

Cracked games are free, you have to pay for these ones

>friendly competition.

I can't even

I also use Playnite, the only thing that is killing it atm is the lack of constant updates. If the dude released the Theme shit it would be 10/10

>acquire $34mil
>only $7,800 profit

>he thinks there's actually a war

LIFE IS A WAR YOU ARE IN A WAR NOW

Well, it keeps info from the launchers the other games come from. So you can actually check the achievements from your Steam games in Galaxy, as well as your Steam friends list and even talk to them from there. It also catalogues your console game info if you want, but you obviously can't launch any of those.

I think it's because they spent a ton on advertising that Witcher card game which flopped just as hard as Artifact.

Watch more Japanese cartoons

Bullseyes, it's because Gwent flopping like a motherfucker.

This
I get it if you pirate

>a launcher for fucking launchers
this isn't how you fix the core issue

It will be DRM-free in Humble Store, if that helps.
