Because it's an adaptation of an action heavy plot which doesn't translate that well into animation. Gold Experience removes any tension from the fights because you're just waiting for the next asspull ability, doesn't help that the voice acting's weak in this part and because most of the characters have little-to-no personality all the emphasis is on the action. While Part 4's animation had many more errors there were still a few moments made memorable through the animation, like Cinderella/finding the lottery ticket. I can't think of any scene where the animation alone looked amazing to me, apart from maybe KC's reveal. I hated part 5 before the anime but I agree the adaptation is a step up, the OST has been the best so far too.

SO is definitely going to be animated. They got the ball rolling and part 5 is actually very successful, moreso than part 4 and is making money up the ass in japan especially in terms of merch/figurines.

I personally think some of the animation quality has looked pretty poor in part 5. But most of the parts have.
The episodes are usually at their best when there's not much movement and can focus on the voice acting, music, expresisons and color pallete.
But I don't think stand battles lend themselves to awesome displays of animation anyway.
They're much more about strategy and that pivotal moment when the tables turn because somene got outsmarted, which I think is easier to show in a comic than it is in animation.

I disagree with GE and disagree heavily with Part 5’s characters being boring.

But I see where you’re coming from with the other stuff. Some things the animation lends itself a lot better to than the anime ever could—parts that involve sound design, for example— others, it just falls short with, like voice acting. Now, I’m a fan of Narancia’s VA. He was pretty good. But some of Giorno’s Mudas, and definitely the Pistols’ voices definitely weren’t up to snuff. They’re getting better at doing Araki’s art justice, though, and all of the original anime scenes were pretty good.

Nah. Its ok but it's nothing special, mostly unique in that it's one of the few Jojo games that isn't a fighter and covers Part 5 which never really got a lot of attention in the west until recently. It's also a boss rush game, which works well for the format of the manga, but its EXTREMELY short (easily finished in under 2 hours) and doesnt have a lot going on gameplay-wise outside of having several playable characters.

The tag team villains are a neat idea but ultimately make the fights last about twice as long as they should, instead of making it twice as chaotic and dangerous in the same amount of time as a one-on-one.

Keep in mind a lot of what you think Araki was saying versus what he said in Japanese are different things due to different ways of translating it. It's not soul, as far as he said he intended it to be about mental fortitude, like two people's psyche punching one another. You have the aptitude to develop your mental state to a sense of clarity to obtain a stand depending on your circumstances. The virus basically accelerates you to that point asap.
