I can agree that synergy bottlenecks like that are pretty cancer, but I'm more upset about them trying to give the tanking/healing jobs the exact same utility.
I've been playing since ARR. The problem is this game used to be what I was looking for and now it's becoming increasingly less so.

I wish abilities in this game weren't so overly flashy. The animations are fine but the effects are so overboard.

Something about this gun just doesn't sit right with me. It just looks too ornate somehow. Like it's a sculpted work of art. I think I prefer MCH guns that look more like pieces of machinery.

It also bothers me in general that MCH guns are the size of rifles but you use them with one hand.

While I don't really like it I'm not too torn up about it either. As it is tank stance is mostly a formality that you use for a max of 4 gcd's at the beginning of a fight before you drop it and never switch back. I would have preferred for them to embrace the stance dance and make fighting for aggro an actual thing tanks need to worry about instead of going full 'lol blue dps' but at least they chose one.

They should. This is where WoW tried, but sort of failed. Active mitigation is the real tank gameplay, where a good tank is able to dish out the same damage, yet take less damage than a mediocre tank.

Unfortunately, ffxiv is too slow for that kind of gameplay.

The 210 PvP sets look funny in general, like it was made to be in WoW. I can see why people like the gun but it's not for me either, the Garo pistol is probably my favorite PvP gun.

During progression of hard fights there are always situations where you'd want to break out tank stance. Sitting in DPS stance the whole fight is the goal, and tank stance is the punishment. Come ShB you'll have to worry about neither.

If they manage to sneak in some depth to make up for what we've lost I'll be happy. I just want to see them say "don't worry we're not simplifying things for the sake of simplification." Very sadly yes. Before level 50 all classes feel incredibly dull.

So dull it made be quite the game in 2.0 in the rial and then again in 2.2 when I tried the trial again.

As the game goes on you get off cooldown skills to insert inbetween and you get more rotations.

The problem is you have to slough through the MSQ to 50. And it's as you say boring as fuck.

EXP gain doesn't matter for new players when they have to sit through 100 hours of cutscenes before they get to heavensward and their job starts getting more than 1 new skill every 5 levels.

As someone who planned on playing DRK once unlocked and GBK, I'm a bit disappointed.

I'm worried that these changes are really going to show just how bad so many tanks are or make it difficult to tank properly thus causing people tonkot want to tank. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like keeping aggro is going to be based on if the tank is doing enough DPS for the target to keep focused on them. Enough bad tanks already have problems keeping aggro against a good DPS even with all the enmity building abilities they currently have. I can't tell you how many times I've seen BLMs get curb stomped by a boss because the tank couldn't keep aggro.

And just imagine how the 24 man raids will be now. You already know 2 of the 3 tanks will be in tank stance "because I'm a tank". Aggro is gonna be all over the place.

If AST is going full time wizard, here's my original idea for a spell.
It's a channelled spell like collective unconsciousness, the AST needs to stay in place for 1 second to complete it. While active time freezes, like how what Alexander does. Other party members can still move and act freely for this second, avoiding attacks and doing extra damage.

I've been playing since ARR and I'd say this happens at least 1 to 2 times out of 10 runs if a BLM is in the party. I once was in a farm party where the tank always lost aggro in the beginning of the fight. Needless to say that party didn't last long.

I don't main either BLM or any if the tanks so I have no idea what they did or didn't do. I'm just the healer trying to keep the DPS up until the tank grabs aggro again.

It differentiated bad tanks from the good ones as well and the ones that wanted brain dead gameplay could just stay in tank stance the entire time and spam their hate combo. Why remove it? Impact got reworked and is an AoE skill with less potency now. The old version is gone

Tank stance dance is not a thing, you just open with it and insta change to DPS stance, and stay like that until the end.

The difference being that the faces posted are literally just default faces with normal brown or white hair.

This is literally face 4 and 3 with no modifications done what so ever.

Losing the enmity combos is not a loss. In SB they were reduced to being used maybe 1-2 times per encounter. Now they won't be used at all and those combos will hopefully do something else now.
