Sisters, I don't like Ichiban.
0 > 2 > 5 > 4 > 1 > 3 > poop > 6
Can you have two sets of system data for Y3, Y4, Dead Souls, and Y5 on PS3? Will the game let you pick which one to load?
3 is kino but the combat is trash.
It's a shame the remaster won't be touching up anything but the graphics, honestly.
flip 3 and 6 and this is more or less accurate
I've been replaying Harvest Moon lately...
What made 0 so good?
They could actually make a story and weren't bogged down with their self-inflicted autism of every game after 3 having to involve every character somehow or making up some excuse
3's story was also really bad too though so it's not like it was guaranteed
Why the fuck was Kaoru ignored after 2? She was dupposed to be Kiryu's gf and Haruka's new mommy. At least kill her off or something.
No Haruka, so it could focus entirely on the crime drama.
Prequel, so they didn't have to come up with contrived reasons for Kiryu to get back involved with the Tojo clan again.
1 and 2 were written by a crime novelist. 3 onward had a new guy, who shipped Kaoru to Burgerland.
The writer is trash, 6 sucks and shin will be more of the same. Getting shot in the leg and shirtless fights.
What's wrong with 6? Never played it but heard from a lot of people that it's one of the few with an actually somewhat decent writing
Basically turns Haruka into a slut
Eh, Haruka has always been the weakest part about any game with her, who cares about her?
Yakuza 6 is Haruka's game
I finally realized what bugs me about the art style in Dragon Engine.
I really miss how your character literally gets on fire when your heat rises and starts glowing.
You don't get these DBZ tier anime moments anymore now, Extreme Heat Mode isnt the same.
But that still happens, it's just in particle effects rather than a fire on you now. They basically just need to make the Heat particle effects bigger and make it look more like a fire than an aura emanating off of you and there'd be almost no difference. Extreme Heat just enhances that effect.
What do you mean by that? System data isn't something you can make two of because it's just one special save file attached to an account that gets created automatically. Save files are tied to the User on the PS3 so I don't get how you'd make another one short of signing onto another account which means a whole different set of saves. If it's a game from a different region it just won't read your PAL save when on NTSC, the only thing that actually reads system data from other regions is when you start a new game it'll do a quick check so you can get stuff like the bell from Kenzan in 3 onward or the Nishikiyama Binding/that one other item due to 1&2 HD in 5.
>If it's a game from a different region it just won't read your PAL save when on NTSC
You can actually resign saves to different users and regions - I assume the person you are replying to wants to unlock the Ultimate Battles or some other main menu shit, as those modes are usually tied to system data rather than a proper save file.
Even if he was resigning one it would just overwrite the previous system data, not create a second one. That basically just handles your completion list unlocks for future playthroughs, if Premium Adventure/Ex-Hard/cutscenes/Ultimate Battles are unlocked, and various settings choices like subtitles, etc.
Can we agree Ishin is the best game the RGG team ever made?
how can you say that when his game isn't even out yet?
or are you just butt mad that they got rid of kiryu?
most people here haven't played it
this guy's got it right, I want to unlock the ultimate battles seeing as one of the melee ones is kicking my ass
Guess I will copy my own system data on a USB for safekeeping, remove it off the PS3, and plant in my friend's data after resigning it
come over and translate for me while i play
FUCK KIWAMI 2 ENDING
HOW CAN KIRYU JUST NOT CARE ABOUT HARUKA AND BE OKAY WITH DYING
FUCK KIRYU
From a gameplay perspective it's quite fun but has a lot of grind and the completion/virya lists are so grindy and monotonous for no real reason. It has some of the best gauntlets in the series and the Ultimate Battles are good too with some fun bosses but the boss problem is that so many of them are just Tennin Rishin with one new move.
Story-wise? Not a chance, Kenzan was way better than it and much more intriguing, it basically reveals the mystery half way in and then the rest of it is just trying to find solutions to another mystery which you already know the answer to, a majority of the people you meet will die within a chapter or two so you never really learn anything about them, and Ryuji/Katsura's friendship feels like it comes out of nowhere and goes barely anywhere even if you know the historical context.
English when? I want to play it again but properly.
just look that one you're stuck on up on youtube, they aren't impossible.
Are the Yakuza threads full of fujos like jojo threads?
It's up there with 0 and 2 for me, but I'm not sure if I'd put it above them. Ishin is just too damn grindy sometimes.
I kind of want to get the platinum trophy in 0 before Judgment comes out. On a scale from 1 to 10, one being Yakuza 6's platinum, and 10 being Yakuza 3, how much ass rape am I in for as far as the mini game requirements go? I recently did Kiwami 2, and didn't find it too bad, outside of mahjong, and some of Haruka's requests (fuck that poker one).
It's like a 5 when it comes to your metric, it's more busywork and waiting than anything else with a couple tough minigame requirements but they're nowhere even close to 3's level. Just be aware of the missable trophies during the story, get Real Estate and JCC done as quickly as possible, and then it's just a bunch of minigames. Baseball, Outrun, and Space Harrier are usually what trip people up, I know some people also have trouble with Super Hang-On and Fantasy Zone but personally I only ever had any trouble with Outrun myself, and then the rest is basically a freebie with mahjong being the only other difficult thing if you find that difficult because you need a mangan, an ippatsu, and a full straight.
A couple months back there was one person posting Majima/Nishitani and rarely Kiryu/Majima, but overall no, at least here it hasn't really been a problem. Even Kingdom Hearts threads usually aren't having to deal with the fujo problem despite them being a very vocal part of the fanbase.
Easier than 5 - a lot of the minigame requirements have been toned down, and you don't have to slog through the Coliseum with four characters (two of which are Akiyama and Shinada). The cat fight can be a bit of a slog, and Mahjong is tougher but you won't have too much trouble if you've gotten previous Platinums (apart from 6, not sure what went wrong there).
That seems pretty reasonable, thanks for the replies. Also, any particular tips for the dancing mini game? I had a lot of problems with the substories tied around it, so I imagine that the hard mode songs will be the death of me.
Don't use the L1 ability, this applies to Ishin as well. The reasoning is that if you are at a combo of roughly 15-20 the points you gain from all the missed notes vastly outweighs the 1000 or so points you get from the special, and you could potentially miss 10+ notes in the time it takes to finish which could be well into the 2000 point range or more. Feel free to do it if you just dropped a combo or you know that part of the song has a drought of notes, but do your best to stay away from it.
If it's about the regular gameplay make sure you don't try and do too many steps. Four steps is usually the sweet spot, sometimes you can get it to 6 or even 9, but don't even worry about it if you have to do multiples in succession and basically you just want to keep up a combo as much as possible. All the squares are based on the song itself, they follow a pattern, so if you listen to the song you should know when to hit it, all that you need to do at that point is get used to the pulsating effect and the blinding colors.
It'll take practice but it's not too hard. Ishin's is far worse because you have to split your attention between two sides of the screen and the leniency for hitting a note is much harder and it's just nuts is what I'm trying to say.

Damn, I had no idea. I'd use that shit as soon as it came up. That should definitely improve my score then, I think. Also, don't worry, I know what you mean with Ishin, I never even bothered with that 100%. The fan dancing and the food stall mini games just didn't seem humanly possible to me. Thanks for the tips. You know Moose, you always being so helpful in these threads has almost changed my opinion about tripfags. Almost.
>Damn, I had no idea. I'd use that shit as soon as it came up
Same thing happened to me until I tested it out on Ogita when I was doing it on PC and I went like 2000ish more points on him at which point I tested it on a couple of other guys and then went to Ishin to test it there and I found that out.
>and the food stall mini games just didn't seem humanly possible to me
I have very very poor memory despite everything in the series somehow sticking to my brain like glue and I was able to do it so you definitely can. Start on the 七 difficulty (It's the second choice in the menu) once you pick the うどん choice at the stall, it starts you at remembering the seven orders immediately but it also means you need less time to reach the goal. Ranking up normally from the default to that point is only like 3000文 or so so it's a better trade off to not take three minutes to reach that point and mess up again. The way I remembered it was in groups of 3 and then 4 or 4 and then 3. You obviously don't have a lot of time so you just have to do your best at remembering it, you only need to go to I think 12 successful orders at that difficulty to hit the 3両 (I think it was 3) mark.
Remember that you also have that one ability that sets everything to the same order so if something slips your mind jut use that and it'll recover again if you make a mistake (Which you will because once you get to like four successful orders in a row at that difficulty the speed increases and the time you get to remember decreases).
saejimas limited berserk made me want to rip my balls off. surprisingly never had much trouble with the coliseum outside of that.
Very accurate and based list, user.
Who here going to the judgement event in London?
>and I was able to do it so you definitely can
I-I'll try no to let you down.
I need more Yakuza fix lads. I haven't felt this way since Factorio or Black & White about a video game. Played 1 and 3 on Playstation. Want more on PC. Bought all the three ports.
Help me cope lads. Sekiro ain't doing it.
3 really had such basic combat when compared to the previous games. Story while still interesting wasn't on par with the previous crime drama.
Hit the nail on the head there. I really loved that blazing aura. Made fights so much more intense.
That thermal bottle looks really nice lad. I want one.
Can we all agree that it's a good thing that the enemies in Yakuza games don't really pose a threat and wait to be hit because it makes the games feel more like sidescrolling beat em ups?
Except the fucking Amon brothers
Haven't played OG Yakuza since 5 came out so might as well give it a go now to experience the dub properly since I stopped in chapter 4. Kind of conflicted about the dub to be honest, it's obviously so-bad-it's-good but they really did make some decent choices here and there.
Kiryu's good in the dub although some of his line delivery is hilarious, Date's okay but he doesn't really fit like in JP, Bender being Kashiwagi feels so off, good old Fuma Oyabun doesn't really fit, YOU FUCKING YAKUZA is just as good as his voice in JP, Kazuki is better than JP to be honest, Nishiki is even less intimidating than his JP counterpart, Sera fits, Shimano is 10/10 superior to JP, Reina and Yumi have amazing voices (Reina especially, holy shit that voice is like velvet to your ears), and Haruka is one of the worst voices I've heard in years. Majima Skywalker is also pretty hilarious since it's not even close to fitting but it's so silly.
Not to mention all the HEY YOU and BASTARD which is superior to the Japanese by a mile. How do you guys feel about 1's dub besides the obvious GET THIS MO THER FUCK ER?
As casual as it sounds, feeling so overpowered during fights, is part of what makes some of them so enjoyable to me. Imagine how much less fun Kiryu's rampage through the hospital in 3 or the construction site in 4 would feel if the enemies were constantly pushing your shit in.
Bender being Kashiwagi makes me laugh my ass off every time I play because I forget about it until he speaks
Made me laugh my ass off too because I wasn't expecting it and then for Quinton Flynn to immediately after tell Kiryu he's got a call.
You in London? I'm an hour away so gonna leave early to get that fucking bag myself.
>Puyo Puyo is needed for 100% in Judgment again
Fuck, I'm not getting this 100% am I?
>That feel when even JP players writing a guide about it despair at the mere thought of having to beat 30 in a row.
One of the recommendations is to learn how to do stairs and then pick the puffer fish guy so the only difficult opponent is the kendama kid and the professor, but it's still nuts.
>tfw juggling between the second playthrough of both Y0 and Kiwami 2 trying to 100% both
I'm going to burn myself out before Judgment, am I
>put around 150 hours in Y0 and had a completion rate of around 64%
>Yakuza Kiwami comes out, only put around 40 hours into it before finishing the main story and actually losing interest, only got around 46% completion i believe, not even past 50%
I don't know what the hell happened.
I've also been doing this (recently finished Kiwami 2's 100%), and also working on Fist of the North Star. I'm sure by the time I'm finished, I won't even want to look at Judgment for a few months.
Sleeping Dogs, Shenmue, Dead Souls
no
Where do people find the time to force themselves to 100% games when they aren't even enjoying the chore? There are already so many good games out there and not enough time to play them. I can't imagine spending hours on something annoying just to get a completely meaningless """trophy"""
All it stands for is a symbol to how much time you have to waste and how badly your life is going
Why not just play the parts you enjoy and be satisfied with that and then move on to the next enjoyable game?
is 2 only that high because you can play as Majima?
you can stop posting this now
But I don't force myself to 100% games if it means doing things that aren't enjoyable. Where's the projection? Are you saying I DO 100% games, including content I don't enjoy? Do you know what projection means?
@463300978
I think you should cut your losses and stop for now. That's enough embarrassment for today.
Autism, i just do the amon fight and call it complete
Maybe there are people who intrinsically enjoy the act of completing checklists, so to speak?
Some people are just wired that way. Like people who track train arrival and departure times or flight paths, or lego piece catalog numbers.
okay fair point
I just didn't like how your post made me feel so I grabbed the first image I had on hand
Stop ruining Yakuza threads with your shitty arguments.
Never understood this myself
I just play all the stuff in Yakuza games that I enjoy and move on to the next one. Keeps me from getting burned out
>enjoy
But that's my point, I'm talking about people who are forcing themselves to play parts of games they don't enjoy for hours just to tick that box. Even if the tick is enjoyable, the hours and hours of tedium and frustration aren't. They're kidding themselves. it's not "worth it" or an achievement. It's not even overcoming a challenge, it's just timewasting. Like reading a giant pile of newspapers which are all the same edition cover to cover and feeling like you've overcome a challenge. It wasn't hard to do other than the frustration and boredom.
>things women can't understand
Has Yakuza ever given you guys feels?
The ending of 2, before the twists pushed things a little too far
Tachibana and Makoto in 0, as well as Majima's closure in Kiwami 2.
I have been mocked in the past for not getting emotional during some of "the great" films and tv shows out there. (I'm a little autistic) But Yakuza and anime can make me emotional because the writing is melodramatic and it's always very clear what I should be feeling. The music helps, but mostly I like that the characters all say clearly how they are feeling and what they are thinking. This helps me understand them and I can feel myself getting emotional from the sad parts.
Same. I have no idea why this would annoy anyone. I guess they think because they made themselves suffer (for no reason) then they expect everyone else to as well.
this is probably why I like japanese media in general
not to mention waifus
the girls are idealized and not realistic, which suits me just fine
real women are ugly whores anyway, and annoying to boot
The honest answer is autism. It's thrown around here so much that it's easy to forget that a lot of people on Yea Forums are genuinely on the spectrum. Which only makes sense. Even if a lot of normies come here these days it's still a honey trap for people with social issues. So people like this being here should not surprise you.
Is this pasta? I've read this exact same thing yesterday.
There's barely ever 25 people in Yakuza threads these days. Even after Kiwami 2 just came out on PC. Is Yakuza dead on Yea Forums?
PC players only buy games to check to see how well they run, install mods, check the framerate, look for issues, and make troubleshooting threads. They don't actually play the games. The few that did found out Yea Forums had been overhyping these games for years.
While 5 has tons of content, I enjoyed 4 more, mostly because even though some story beats in that weren't that great, it didn't feel like writers were on drugs. Also, having them stretch the content to four cities made them feel pretty empty, compared to how packed Kamurocho was in 4 or any other game.
Anyway, even with the Kiwami 2 I feel that 4 is better. The game design is just very PS2 if that makes sense, with there being several parts where Kiryu is just sent on a goose chase to beat up a dude to get a key, to fetch a dude or whatever else. Not to mention that sub-stories really weren't too great.
The story is stupid, and they ditch the old cast to close Kiryu's story with bunch of bad new characters. Also, since it's the first game in the new engine things aren't really that polished yet.
you do know autism is a real thing right
>bad new characters
But Nagumo was actually a good partner and Yuta was alright once Kiryu finally beat fatherhood into him. I'm with you that it sucks they basically threw all the old characters barring Date and Akiyama to the side in Kiryu's final game, that was a really dumb choice on their part, but Nagumo and Yuta were alright out of the new crew. The other two literally who's were just there and they're definitely forgettable, I'm with you on that one. Kiyomi, Someya, and Korean Vergil were also enjoyable, Someya in particular.
