PSP Go is still ultimate comfy for turn-based games. Controls are absolute garbage for anything action based, though.

PSP is ded, good riddance.

nah

go is shit

PSP is a dead shit of a console. At the minimum get a Vita and some dignity.

Go is nice because it's one of the last handhelds you could actually pocket without it leaving a giant, obvious bulge in your pants.

I love the go buttons(cuz clicky), i just don't play games that require the analog stick

i have tiny hands and the go is fine. its still no 3000, but i got it from a dude for 25 bucks so idc man

There's no reason to own a PSP instead of a Vita in 2019
Vita is basically a PSP Pro

already have a vita

Any GBA clones?

>not caring about better dpi

To be fair, PSP games have started getting resolution patches on Vita.

the vita has a shit d pad and worse battery life. the vita is only better for star wars battlefront 2, but thats one game

PPSSPP is black magic

>the vita has a shit dpad
nigga what?

its way too small and clicky. psp 3000 has the best d pad, then the snes.

You are literally the only person I've met that doesn't love the vita dpad.

sauce me fampai

No.

imagine not having a psp 3000,psp go and a psvita

>the vita has a shit d pad
You're weird, weirdo.

Attached: image.jpg (764x720, 66K)

homo

I'm so confused scrolling past this. It has the best d-pad since the damn Saturn. PSP was decent too. Its beyond weird these too machines that got so little love are the only ones since the mid 90s to have worthy dpads.

i get that the vita has zero games with gameplay so you dont have reference, but that d pad is shit for anything that isnt a VN or turn based rpg

You are absolutely insane, the Vita d-pad is one of the best I've used.

Attached: 7189d82ee9ac97ab1a355110ab5004b4.jpg (904x1200, 202K)

Both Dustforce and Sayonara Umihara Kawase are available on Vita, where I've played them. Your argument is invalid. Also, it's fucking sex for fighting games like BlazBlue and UNIST.

Not to mention a game like Muramasa.

And Tales games. Trying to finally finish up Hearts R and the D-pad is excellent

Attached: 25d29249e7f65b9ba63117e9cee8aed3.png (1091x1091, 553K)

Persona 1 is going to a black screen after the fmv intro, despite the iso running fine on PPSSPP. How the FUCK do I fix this?

Attached: 1519364607800.jpg (288x499, 23K)

I started gaming on the SNES, bucko and I consider the SNES d-pad to be absolute god tier but then I switched sides and became a Playstationfag. Their d-pads are alright but I never liked seeing the buttons separated from each other, it never really occurred to me how awful this type of d-pad was until I got a Vita. I fucking love it and I wish every game controller had similar d-pads.

github.com/TheOfficialFloW/GTANativeResolution

Game by game basis, but it's a thing.

As soon as I hacked my Vita I accepted that I'd never look at my PSP again. You PSP bros are cool, though. Any games I should look into for it? I never had a PSP growing up.

I spent more hours than I'd care to admit in Phantasy Star Portable 2, and I regret nothing but the fact that there will never be a third.

I always have a giant, obvious bulge in my pants

it has the best version of little big planet, ratchet size matters is decent, and if you like gta the psp ones are pretty good.

Have you tried with isos from other sites ?

>best version of LBP
LBP PSP? The best one?

Look, user, I was a bonafide LBP fanboy when I was younger. I'm talking "had the quarantine suit costume for bug-testing, and donated to LBPCentral" tier fanboy. I loved LBP PSP, but it's definitely not the best.

Not him, but LBP Vita was bretty good imo

Do yourself a favor and play Maverick Hunter X

I'm really not into Megaman, worth it even then?

LBP Vita was underrated. Mostly because most game journos missed the biggest fucking addition to the game. Shit like that is what got me into writing about games myself, desu.

Why would you need a psp when ppsspp works for pretty much everything? Even my shitty chink phone sd410 and 2gb ram can run games on it just fine.

I have the cartridge for Vita LBP and didn't really play it. What is that addition you speak of?

Buttons.

So, back when LBP was still big - one of LBP2's biggest additions was the ability to link levels. This was cool in and of itself, but a big inherent limitation to it was that nothing could transfer between levels, limiting the types of levels/games you could make.

LBP Vita introduced something called the "memorizer", which let you iterate things throughout an entire level chain. Say you wanted to make an RPG, and each level was a section of the map - well, without the memorizer you couldn't get a leveling system that persisted through zones. With it, however, you very much could. While it was eventually added to LBP2 on PS3, it first appeared in LBP Vita and was ground-breaking for the community.

I just recently worked on a beat-up PSP 2000 that a friend gave me. I love it. There were a lot of cool games that I missed out when the system was current, and it has the best ports of Parappa and Mortal Kombat Deception. I also like Persona 3 Portable more than the PS2 versions

So if you thought up a mechanic you can copy paste that now instead of doing it from the ground up every time? That does sound a good addition.

In my opinion people make too much of a big deal with removing 3D roaming. The additions make up for that for me. It would have been nice to also have The Answer though.

not the same user but i've held off on playing my copy of P3P since god knows i guess a year or some shit after it came out. should i say fuck the answer and just play P3P and get it done?

No, no - more than that.

Let's say you have it so a circuit in your level will iterate upon a "level up". Well, you can store how many times a character has "leveled up" to a memorizer, which will persist throughout levels. Let's say you have collectibles in each level in a chain - the memorizer can allow you to have players retread levels to search for them again, without forcing them to do everything from the beginning.

It's a big step in increasing the complexity of games/levels you can make using LBP as a platform. Unironically it was the biggest addition to the formula yet when it was introduced.

Tank controls on the Vita dpad feel amazing. Big fan of it.

Yeah, play it. It is good. Though to get the most out of every version even if time consuming you can play FES, then play FeMC on P3P and then The Answer. You would experience everything P3 has to offer that way.

>Thinking the 3000 is good
>Those fucking scanlines

Colour isn't everything. The Go was the perfect screen with the worst controls.

Vita is the king of PSPs.

Attached: 1378610198065.gif (285x212, 1.23M)

I see. It does look like this version gives way to better community levels. I will play the Vita version, thanks for the info user.

I'm playing Game Boy games on my PSP. I've never really emulated on it until now, but it seems like a great system for it. I've never played many Game Boy games, any recommendations?
I'm playing Metal Gear Ghost Babel now

>vita has a shit d pad
Been a while since I’ve seen bait this good. Have a (you)

Link's Awakening DX and Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons are mandatory.

Shantae and Wendy are good platformers with charming designs.

I LOVE MY VITA

The Vita is amazing, and so sad at the same time

It's ok Vita, forget about Sony. You're in a much better place now - we love you.

What a shitty life that must be.

I love the vita but it bothers me that there’s no ‘native res’ option for PSP games and everything just gets stretched out to fit the vita’s screen

Isn’t there a plug-in that fixes that?

>snoy handlhelds
soulless garbage/emulator machines

my psps x button broke, now i can't get past inputting the date.

I love hotline Miami but to me it’s just unplayable on console/handheld. My brain doesn’t work with twin-stick controls after playing it with m&kb

I have blue and pink 1ks. I can ignore the ghosting but the d-pad of this model is very flawed. Other than that it is the most robust feeling PSP I ever had and I have every model.

Is the screen as bad as they say compared to the 3k?

Because you asked so nicely, you fucking faggot.

Yes. To explain further compared to its competitors of that time PSP screen is great. Bigger than SP and DS fat, better than SP 001 and DS fat but not better than SP 101 and Game Boy Micro. Even 2000 is a big upgrade and Go is the pinacle of PSP screens. Vita on both models have screens better than anything PSP offers though.

Is there a complete English patch tag force 6 iso anywhere? I can't seem to find one

>all those vitas
I haven't seen this many dead consoles in one place since wii u clearance sales

Attached: wojak face on.jpg (252x300, 9K)

So many Vitas. I want them all.

Is the go screen better than 3k?

At least you have colorful ones.

I downloaded both of those. I played Link's Awakening many years ago but I never finished it.
I downloaded Wendy but I've heard the original Shantae hasn't held up that well. I liked the sequels though, so should I give it a go anyway?

Any new game that come out recently?
Like translation patches or something.

Depends. Do you notice the interlacing on 3k? If yes Go is better, if not they are the same.

Revelations 2, Va11 HallA and TxK, awesome. How is Coded Arms? I'm regretting selling my Vita.

I do, it's pretty clear that it's there but it's not that big of a deal as the ghosting on the 2k I owned and sold a few months ago.

Revelations 2 is actually enjoyable with overclocking, just a side note.

Coded Arms is great for what it is. It is pretty playable even if it is an FPS on PSP. For an early PSP title I think it is great.

If you don't mind then it doesn't matter. Go screen is the 3k screen but perfected with an added bonus of high ppi because of its size. Both don't have ghosting and Go has eliminated the interlacing but if that doesn't bother you 3k is also good.

ok thanks!

No problem.

cdromance.net/psp/?sorted=latest&filter_language=english-patched

I have Revelations 2 on the Switch so I probably wouldn't get it again for the Vita.
I'll give Coded Arms a shot though.

Is this even deader handheld more to your taste then?

Attached: IMG_20190524_204002.jpg (1008x756, 142K)

Theres a difference between consoles that died and "vintage" consoles
the vita legit makes me sad to look at as it died prematurly 100% due to sony being jewish as fuck

>i-i-it's not dead if Nintendo does it!

A dead platform is a dead platform.

What the fuck are you even talking about user

Yeah. You can force pixel perfect ratios with Adrenaline and do underscan/overscan and stretch/shrink screen size, basically whatever you want.

Some people have seizures at the mention of PSP or Vita. Weird, I know.

Yeah, try it. It's fun.

>The trade-off is ~20FPS (originally ~30FPS) and 16bit color depth instead of 32bit
Lmao.

Are those two SP's on the left side 101? Also the three of your GBA's are screen modded I think. You are a dedicated handheld fan, I like you faggot.

Attached: 7d8ffcca691d4802b08ff99e5b084e09.png (284x177, 92K)

Stop smoking crack, retard.

I'd give it a shot still, it is 'free' after all.

And though it's a port of a PS1 game, try Tales of Eternia.

Brave Story is very nice turn based RPG.

Attached: 1517166044-3754254580.jpg (1280x1024, 303K)

Brave Story? More like best girl loses: the game!

I've had this skin on my Vita for years now. Too aesthetic to remove desu.

Might re-embroil myself in Muramasa again, but I GOT to finish up ToHR first.

I mean, yeah. But it's still fun. Also the 4th stage of the sword looks stupid.

Oh yeah, Crisis Core is a nice little experience as well.

Attached: 0524190416.jpg (2328x1164, 985K)

Lemme get your input;

How worth it is a 2000 being an owner of a 1K model?

Attached: 2019-05-16-034905.png (960x544, 732K)

Not him but I've got both. Do you want a thinner and lighter Vita and not take issue with a slightly worse screen? The 2K is your jam. I've got both, I think I like my 2K more mainly by virtue of comfort.

PON PON PATA PON

Adrenaline Bubble Creator is 100% worth grabbing.
Yeah alright, calm down fag.
It's become my favourite way to play it. Perfect for riding the train, music blasting in your headphones, controls feel great once you get used to them. I don't usually like touch controls, but pulling on the screen to see ahead feels really satisfying, kinda makes you take a little tactical pause. I like it.

Attached: Vita1.jpg (2048x1152, 158K)

You can improve the 2ks screen colors with a simple registry edit. The difference is night and day.

Yeah, I'm using the reg edit myself. In theory you can do it on the 1k as well but then you'd really risk blowing out colours completely that're calibrated for the limited RGB mode.

Guys the battery of my 3000 got really fat recenrly, any good replacements?

I tried it on my launch 1k model. It didn't have any noticeable effect.

My dick got really fat in your mom’s ass.

Alright, thanks. I've always considered it since my current battery seems to have odd issues here and there, also computers refuse to recognize my Vita when it had no problem in the past.

PATA-PATA-PATA-PON

I ought to look into that myself. It's easy enough right?

Attached: PS_Messages_20190516_045443.jpg (960x544, 137K)

Literally install the vpk and it'll basically do the rest for you. You can set background colours and stuff so they can match your backgrounds/theme your icons/etc. Feels a lot nicer than booting into Adrenaline every time.

Attached: Vita3.jpg (2048x1152, 114K)

ofc if you take more than 2 minutes you are literally retardo.

Either play a gamble with Chinese batteries or do a battery mod. Healthy original Sony batteries for PSP are harder to come by nowadays.

I change my "warning" boot screen to
Flat is NOT justice!
Fuck Sony

i want a street for the novelty of it but they all sell for more than a better model and have scratches because people used them unironically as daily drivers

Attached: 1517593290704.jpg (715x720, 83K)

if you have memory stick speedup enabled in CFW settings disable it

I changed mine to "You have once again entered...The world of survival horror".

Attached: Vita2.jpg (2048x1152, 123K)

what's even good on the fat PSP besides MHFU?

So how come Sony never made a bigger deal out of PS1 compatibility on PSP/Vita? It's an absolutely amazing feature, especially for when they were doing it. Vita's still the best option for PS1 on the go.

Some people just put bullshit prices since they only know that it is the last released model and think last=best. If you are living in a EU country follow PSP Street listings online. You might find very cheap deals. If you are in another country then it will be harder to come by and seller will probably ask more money than it is worth. It is a good model to have if you liked the bulkiness of 1k but wanted something with better buttons and screen.

It's also because people think if something's 'collectable' they can basically name their price and retire on it. Have you seen how much Gameboy Micros go for?

They must have tried with PSP but for Vita murrican Sony just advertised Vita as an accessory for PS4 and never mentioned Vita ever again

Why push PS1 ports when you have tonnes of remasters in the works? It's a cynical thought, and they probably just didn't care that much maybe, but I think it has some relevance.

Forever GOAT

Attached: Patapon2cover.jpg (640x1103, 129K)

Who has Hatsune Miku PSP here? What about Miku Vita?

>Miku Vita
Man I missed that entirely. Sucks it is the 1000 because I love Miku. Always wondered why we never got a full colored cyan vita.

Alright. Might get on that later today. For now, I just realized I could play AvP on the go.

Attached: PS_Messages_20190524_051411.png (960x544, 152K)

Without even looking, I'm pretty sure the Vita got a Miku edition, might be the 2K but I'm pretty sure it happened

True, I was lucky to find Micro with a flash cart for very cheap back when they weren't this expensive. To add I don't think PSP got to that nostalgia pricing you see with other consoles but out of all the models Go and Street would be in a situation similar to Micro solely because of their sale numbers.

Just bought a brand new Vita 2000 2 days ago. After I'm done with P4 what do I play???

It did. I just said it was a shame it was a 1000.

On Vita? Bloodstained, Hotline Miami and the MGS collection are all really great on it.

Tales of Hearts R

Well shit, I can't read. Anyway why is it a shame that it's a 1k? Looking at the prices, it's fucking nuts how much it costs, but still.

Attached: 392dc5e86605a58845d007c2c777eb85.jpg (851x1200, 104K)

I like the 2000 Vita more.

Well the thing is they're not 'ports', they're the original game running natively. Plus this was before the remaster craze really took off. Lots of games on there that're never getting modern ports too, stuff like Xenogears.
I paid a hair too much for one recently but I justify it since I actually needed/wanted something that compact. It's great for when even a Vita or DS or something would be too big to carry.

>tfw still waiting for the Persona 2 Eternal Punishment english translation to finish
I just want to play IS and EP together.

I choose Go as my compact but can do lots of stuff handheld.

Same here, after playing the PSP IS I don’t wanna go back to the ps1 version is EP

Hmm, fair enough.

I vaguely remember it being mentioned that there was PS1 hardware built in but I thought that was just the PS3

Attached: b4428fcc521f5f4992211a750f85529b.png (976x1505, 951K)

The Vita/PSP emulate the same packages as the PS3. It's why you can make custom eboots with whatever games you like. The games aren't ported but they aren't running natively either. It's pretty accurate emulation though while maintaining good performance, utterly astonishing for the hardware.

Shame that Sony is done with handhelds, they truly made two marvelous machines. Granted, each game with a general setback.

UMDs were fragile, and the proprietary memory was outrageous.

Oh yes, speaking of which, I want to look into the SD2Vita cartridge. Could I treat it as a normal game card and swap it out, or is it something that's designed to remain in the system?

Attached: 6e2479f69262a4b98f844eac83c9a9d1.jpg (1614x2228, 571K)

>decent gaming rig
>300+ games on steam
>200+ games on emulators
>just people Space Invaders Extreme/Lumines in PPSSPP
Best

The sd2vita isn't like a DS flash cart, it's an adapter so you can use a microSD cart as system memory instead. In theory you can swap it out but you lose access to anything on it when you do and it just gets messier than it's worth. You're generally giving up on physical games when you go for one. There's another option if you have a 3G 1k Vita, where you can swap out the modem for a board called a psvsd that does the same thing. Leaves the game card slot free, but requires internal modification.

Vita's d-pad is one of the kinoest you'll find on any console ever. You are factually mistaken.

It's a shame, really. I can understand the idea behind the UMD. No other storage solution was going to give devs 1.5 gb of space to play around and be affordable at the time but their memory card shenanigans are inexcusable.

You will need the internal storage or a Sony memory card if you want to use your physical games or don't use sd2vita as ux0 (the directory Vita instals its games) and use it as some other directory. This limits your usage of this on something like Adrenaline and Retroarch but it will also let you easily pull it out and put a game in.

I think PSP just came out too early for it to be as big a deal as it should've been. If Sony had digital distribution of PS1 games ready at launch it could've been a huge selling point, but it took a few years until it happened so they missed their chance.

Ah, bit of a shame, though I somewhat expected as much. I have 21 physical carts and I'm not interested in selling them off, though in theory, I could sell them and just get a big ass Micro SD, but I frankly like having physical games. I currently have a 32GB card, I might look into 64GB one, though I'm sure it'll be at a ridiculous premium.

I appreciate your input on this.

In my mind, I was planning it use it for emulators, PSP and the odd Vita game.

Attached: 19ac7f4182ea61713530069768bf0199.jpg (1200x780, 305K)

anyone else spend an endless amount of hours with this game? when i first got a PSP i got this game with it when it came out. it's got to be one of the top 3 games in terms of hours played for me.

Attached: index.jpg (194x259, 12K)

I didn't play it religiously, but I certainly did enjoy it. I'm looking forward to the new one on Switch. I miss Yu-Gi-Oh

Just a heads up. If you have a 1k and decide to get rid off all your Sony cards, 1ks are depending on firmware impossible to hack without having a Sony card. You can however unlock the internal storage with no risks. IMCUnlock Lite unlocks a 150 mb partition that is plenty for hacking purposes. It will also future proof your console if any freak accident happens to your hacked Vita.

As for second part, I do it like that for my Vita with my real account. Use the sd2vita as uma0 and redirect Adrenaline to there while my 8 gb card is being used as ux0. Vita games gets installed on the Sony card while PSP games reside on the sd card. Retroarch can also access uma0 so rom files are also in there. Basically I use that as a supercharged Vita that plays my official games while uses plugins and has the PSP part fully unlocked. My 1k is used for pirating shit and it has a dummy account.

Thanks for the heads up, I already hacked the machine itself, so it should be good to go, but alas, I only own 1 Vita. Though considering the sheer number of PSP ISOs I have, it could be worth aping your setup. The main card will basically be business as usual and the sd2vita could basically act as an outright substitute for a PSP.

A bit of a tangent, but I bet the Zero games are phenomenal with the Vita d-pad.

Attached: IMG_20190521_215820.png (450x900, 682K)

Yup, there are no performance issues either. Everything runs just fine with this setup. Use Autoplugin to install StorageMgr, recommended sd2vita plugin to configure which card will do what and it will work out. Autoplugin also gives you a gui to choose those options first time you install StorageMgr so if you know even a little bit of what you are doing you can't mess up.

Gimme a shooter.

Neat. And the cards themselves are like 10 bucks right?

>tfw using a hacked Vita with no account at all
I hate having to have an account for everything. This alone was reason enough for me to hack it.

Back in 1995.

There's no point to buying 2 unless one is a replacement.

>So how come Sony never made a bigger deal out of PS1 compatibility on PSP/Vita?
Because it was a common feature.
>PSP Thread

My bad, was side-tracked.

Maybe Pursuit Force? Not overly focused on shooting, but the closest thing I can think of.

Anyone here prefer handheld gaming compared to console gaming? I'm thinking of transitioning. I don't care much for modern games so for PC I only really need Doom and retroarch really.

sd2vitas? They are like 4 bucks if you buy from Aliexpress and wait. A bit more if you buy from elsewhere. I bought the ones with smiling faces on them back when they were the latest and they all work great. Newest one looks completely like a Vita game card. The white ones are the current recommended ones, the ones says 5.0 version.

It's a nice complement, but I don't think it's a replacement. Although with a capable PC, consoles tend to become obsolete.

Last month I’ve done strictly handheld gaming and been loving it. I do jump on the pc for ror2 and once in a while play rdr2.

Crisis Core is garbage though.

The only thing I really see consoles being good for these days is for exclusives and even then there isn't like there is much to actually care for. It seems to me that this industry should seriously just transition to PC gaming, handhelds and phones. Phones though only because the casual shits are so deeply into it that there is no way the industry is pulling out of that market otherwise I don't care for phone games. Its looking more and more to me that this industry should start to go more towards the handheld gaming market and just ditch these piece of crap under powered home consoles that long outlived their usefulness.

Ordered the repair parts online it's gonna be something new and fun for me to do. The first one is going to this lady friend I've been talking to since she's really into retro gaming. Then I'm going to flip the other one and get a PSP Go for ultimate comfyness. I hope she likes it

I've always enjoyed both really. Some experiences are just a bit nicer on a handheld, others on a console/TV. Part of why I like the Switch, though the joycons generally suck to use period. I really wish Sony could take the lessons from the previous two machines and make a great handheld. I think the biggest hurdle are smartphones though. I myself love dedicated handhelds, but most people are content with on screen buttons(speaking if which, my favorite titles are ones where you could tap on menus for menu navigation, and other small gameplay elements like in Dragon's Crown)coupled with the variable price range of the mobile market.

Damn that's good pricing.

Fair enough, what about Hexyz Force?

I remember making a Pandora Battery and hacking Vita's left and right. Good times.

switch zoomers will NEVER know the greatness of real, god-tier handhelds like the ds and the psp.

Hexyz Force is good turn based RPG, though that I'm not a big fan of weapon durability system.
The game have 2 main characters that you can choose, each of them have their own story & party members.

Yeah. I haven't loved a console since my PS2. Vita scratches that itch for creative, gameplay centric lower budget titles that I miss. My PC is an RE2R/fighting game machine and my PS4 basically collects dust.

I've played it, just never finished it. I recall getting a lion/beast dude for the party?

Undead Knights is pretty good too. Not anywhere near $40 good, but good.

amazon.com/Handle-Joypad-Trigger-Handel-(Black)/dp/B0776CVLK9/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=ps vita remote play assist&qid=1558707825&s=videogames&sr=1-7 is this a good one? Seems to be pretty decent and even comes with an L3+R3 support. Can't find any other ones with that for the 1000.

>console warring handhelds

Wipeout 2048 is still pretty amazing to me. It and Killzone are some of the most 'how the fuck is this on a handheld' games I've ever played. The Switch gets close with some stuff like Xenoblade 2, but it's dealing with much more advanced hardware.

>Wipeout 2048 is still pretty amazing to me
Pure is better, but I respect that. Killzone is pretty impressive by 2013 standards.

Been a fan of WipeOut since Pure on PSP.

2048 was glorious.

You're a real purist aren't you?

bump. Are L3+R3 even mandatory?

For most games, no.

I'm not getting into which is better, just which I found more mindblowing on a handheld technically. If we're talking PSP then Ace Combat X is up there, it's straight-up a mission pack for AC4 with essentially zero compromise. Still kind of salty that the 3DS got an AC and not the Vita, AHL would've been way better if it wasn't held back by it.

Top game. Why did they have to fuck up the console game so badly?

how am i "console warring" by praising the ds AND the psp?

Nice youtu.be/-jdKzDWmNPA

Having the whole of Liberty City AND Vice City in your pocket was pretty big.

its perfect but you really must have in minds that the controls are SHIT ( even worse if you have big hands)
I love the go but i cant play a long time on it.
There was a time i could find a gba micro for 40$, im absolutely mad at myself because i thought i could just buy it later now they cost almost 100$

That's cute, good luck user.

I never finished Liberty City Stories. Might pick that back up some time.

>I haven't loved a console since my PS2.

Got to say same here for me. I mean I liked PS3 and 360 but that is more for the games on it. Not the consoles nor the business practices at all. Sixth gen was the last great gen.

Kys

Consider suicide

I've primarily used my Vita for the past few years, since I decided not to play games on my PC anymore. Aside from the free Wii U I got, I haven't gotten any new consoles. I don't see it happening, either. Home consoles aren't cutting it for me anymore. Not to mention, I have so many older games that I wouldn't even consider picking up a new console.

Is 7th Dragon series any good?

If you don't mind the chibi art style it is good.

KZ mercenary is fucking amazing, it's the most fun I've had with anything in the series

Just get a Vita instead

Don't play P3P as your first playthrough of P3, plays FES first since P3P is fucking shit

>P3P is fucking shit
I strongly dislike P3, but is P3P that bad?

dissidia 012 is the best ff game
playing it at 60fps on ppsspp is incredible, the particle effects and the animations really pop

Not really.

Are the oled screen for the 1000 on aliexpress and ebay legit. im having burn-ins

Reminder Rengoku II is peak PSP kino and you all should play it
2020 II is pretty good if you want a grindy dungeon crawler, yeah.

I don't think anybody's even bothered making reproduction screens. I bought a 2K one recently and it was clearly an original part they had lying around.

So I've been playing Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and really, it's just making me wonder why Pokemon games are so damn iterative if the less popular and by far less funded franchise can churn out something this ambitious and polished. Multiplat with cross-saving, too.

That's what i thought but they cost like 10 to 20$ on aliexpress, its very cheap

legpiss sold 10 million even without japan's support. game freak doesn't need to try, it's as simple as that. plus digimon was always more ambitious to begin with.

Why bother when your dual release sells like 15-20 million every time?

What's the point in having a Vita in 2019

Yeah, I paid about $25 Australian for mine and the seller even threw in a screen protector and sd2vita.
Makes sense, when you're so far ahead you don't really need to try. It's just been kind of striking as someone that's generally passed on most similar franchises to pick up Cyber Sleuth and get such a 'real' game out of it, for lack of a better description. Only two-ish hours in so far but I'm really enjoying it. Music's great, art's great, story seems interesting and it's giving me some Persona-y vibes, both mechanically and in presentation. A very pleasant surprise at this point.

make sure to check out the midquel, hacker's memory, after you finish cyber sleuth.

PSP was comfy but I fucking hated people who used it as an MP3 player. I never met someone who did that who wasn’t a total autist or mentally ill.

>Yeah, I paid about $25 Australian for mine and the seller even threw in a screen protector and sd2vita.
kek, well i think i will give it a try, the burn-in marks annoys me (its only visible when i play in the dark for the blacks and grey but i know it's there)

At least they didn't use a DS for it like me.

If I'm still as positive on it once I'm done with it I'll absolutely be checking it out. Not sure I'd be enjoying the game as much on PS4 but it's perfect for portable play.
Sounds like you might be seeing the mura rather than burn-in, that's just part of how OLEDs work. Blacks won't be 100% uniform, especially on an earlier OLED like the 1000 uses.

Why would you use a game handheld for music?

Just to be sure is it really burn in or mura effect?

Because I did have a flashcard but I didn't have an MP3 player.

It's that magical blend of technical excellence with some plain really good game design. The former's no good without the latter but it's a great stab at taking that big console experience on the go with minimal compromise. Most changes like the shorter levels just make it work better for the platform.
2006 was a different time. Back then you might not even have a phone that did it super well. A big selling point for the PSP back in the day was its multimedia capabilities.

>vita
>shit dpad
i honestly think vita is absolute shit tier but come the fuck on m8, that dpad is glorious

Ah shit thanks, i just looked at mura effect because i never heard of it before and it's actual that. Some spot are darker than rest of the screen with dark colors

Attached: mura.png (1200x672, 726K)

user i did that back in 2005 when i was at middle school. Top comfy and better than having a mp3 player usb stick.
Also put a shitload of .mp4 early youtube/dailymotion videos on it to show them to my friends.
Good times.

>used to own an original crisis core psp
>fucking beautiful
>sold it
i don't really like to hoard things and keeping things stashed away without use but goddamn sometimes i'm just a full blown turbo retard

I believe everyone used PSP to look for porn at some point in their life if they were a teenager around 2004 to 2010.

My PSPs screen keeps going black and flickering. I’m kind of annoyed, I’m going to see if it can be repaired

Digimon Cyber Sleuth is the first Digimon game I ever played. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Wish I had tried out Digimon games sooner.

>he doesn't play music over games
Missing out.

PSP are so fucking easy to repair (outside the GO)

Same, if they were anything like this I would've loved them when I was younger. Same with the Megaman Battle Network games I picked up recently on GBA. The handheld landscape is full of hidden gems in a way I don't think console games ever are.

>leave it on standby for 5 weeks
>turn it on
>battery at 70%

Attached: E4B3585B-5824-4C8A-92EC-E25CF432EA83.jpg (1200x800, 106K)

The Vita's the best handheld ever for that battery life and standby time alone. What good is a handheld that you can't play when you want ot play it?

Just a causal Frazier and Red Dead Redemption 2 sess.

>best handheld ever
>no games worth playing outside p4g

Attached: doubt.jpg (268x160, 5K)

>Bunch of interesting exclusives and portable ports, not to mention the entire digital PSP library and PS1 classics without need for CFW
>Nothing to play
That's more on you by that point.

>Sayonara Umihara Kawase
Don’t make up words!

im buying a vita for a plane trip and im gonna softmod it.
already looked into the process so what homebrew games and custom shit should i get?
and maybe some hidden good games?

Are you a weeb or are you a based&redpilled pc autism player?

>are you a based&redpilled pc autism player?
yes
only weebshit i plan on getting is p4golden

My psp 3000/go lasts for literal months

bonus

Attached: p5aznvkg.jpg (3648x2736, 700K)

The Tag Force games were amazingly fun. I can't even go back to that cramp as fuck UI and menus from the gameboy and DS yugioh games

How complicated is it to pack up your entire PSP existence and move it over to Vita?

Literally just copying and pasting files. Be sure to get a sd2vita card adapter after you mod your vita.

But...I have a 64GB card. That wasn't cheap and it was a gift.

then you can skip the sd2vita if you want
it's just a really good idea for most people

What's the best/lastest GBA emulator for psp right now? gpsp has like a shitload of forks and I've lost track, hell I don't know if any of them is still being worked on

Which Vita version should I get, 1000, or 2000? Pros and cons?

1000 pros: oled
2000 pros: 1gb internal makes it slightly easier to hack, micro usb charging

I miss my PSP Go, bros. I want to play Resistance: Retribution again.

2000 if you never seen the 1000's screen. 1000 if you've seen the 1000's screen compared to the 2000.
