why would anyone pay Blizzard 15$++ a month for Vanilla filled with sharding, streamer cults and nu-gamer assholes when you can just play on private servers with great communities for free?
Why would anyone pay Blizzard 15$++ a month for Vanilla filled with sharding...
Paying 15 dollars to avoid the chinese hivemind is almost a gift
Because the private servers are inevitably shut down by Blizzard. Official servers won't have that risk associated with it.
*dabs*
Name 2 of these decent communities giving their take on classic.
nostalgia is a powerful drug.
I liked Vanilla, but I remember why I quit WoW in the first place: it gets boring.
It's only fun on raid days, and even then it gets monotonous very fast. It's also annoying when you have to repeat the same raids over and over to get the loot you want, and you start to feel like you're a hamster running on a wheel.
I'm gonna play Mordhau and maybe a good single player RPG will be announced at e3. Bloodlines 2 looks pretty promising too, hopefully.
because i don't want to play on a shitty eu hosted server with 140 ping, bad code, ivans and chinks shitting up the server with bots, and gms that sell gold for irl money.
also
>implying i'm going to pay 15 dollars a month instead of buying wow tokens with retail gold.
>great communities
maybe if your name is alexei or xiao
$15 is very small compared to the hundreds of hours you'll be sinking into leveling a character, unless you're a neet and your time is worthless. Spending a literal week of ingame time only to have your server shut down because the russians who own it decide it's much easier to just sell thunderfuries which causes mass exodus does not feel worth it. Blizzard is a shitstain company but at least i know classic will be around for a long as time and my effort isn't going anywhere. Besides, once it comes out that'll be the main sink for the vanilla community, and nobody wants to play on anything but the "big" server.
>chinks
>huge amount of bugs
>funserver adjustments to compensate for the funserver changes like ridiculous population caps
>everyone is in a different time zone, making it harder to find people to play with
>high ping
>shitty 1.12 client with broken fov, unfixable stutter, and bugs that will never get fixed
>I suck at pvp the post
Nice. Just go play BFA faggot.
>Because the private servers are inevitably shut down by Blizzard
do people really still believe this? entire projects have and do easily stay up for 4+ years which is longer than vanilla itself ever was around for...
fair enough, thats your view, i personally love the game and have been playing it on private for months, kind of like a persistent rpg you can come back to and the (non-discord) community is always filled with genuinely great lads and the occasional lass. the undead twink gankers that you get on Pservers just make it all the more spicy
Pure unfiltered blizzard shilling folks
Chang please go
pls donate for our """""""server costs""""" guys, we need it to keep the server running honest
The Chinese menace plagued actual retail vanilla too. $15 is chump change to the chinese m8, especially these days where the average citizen there is a billionaire.
I don't think you understand how much money they can make selling retail gold/items to lazy murricans.
>WoW pvp is hard
yikes.
I never played BFA I quit right before Cataclysm came out. my 2v2 and 3v3 arena teams were 2200+. Shit is so easy.
The best thing about vanilla was world pvp but it will never be the same and if you actually played vanilla people were hyped for Burning Crusade because vanilla got boring af
actually im not chinese buddy, your goal is to demonise the obvious and better alternative so that people will suckle at your master (Blizzard's) teat. Literally never donated either. Also most of the evil chinamen are actually people from south korea who are surprisingly very friendly
They arent real people, theyre shills for Blizz and this is their modus operandi
>bragging about being 2.2k in arena
kek
>$15 is very small compared to the hundreds of hours you'll be sinking into leveling a character
so you're saying what my time is so worthless that I should be paying to waste it?
highest was 2720 and it's near impossible to breach that and that's when I quit.
When the game starts feeling more like a job than a game it's probably time to quit.
i think they're just really dumb people. i had a friend that told me "nah private servers are fake, they're not real". fast forward and he's having a blast with me ganking. people are just retarded as fuck.
Most private servers aren't shut down by Blizzard. Besides, there's a question of how long you were planning to play in the first place: if you've had your fill already, any shutdown for any reason doesn't matter because you were going to pursue the next F R E S H anyway.
That being said, retail does have its share of advantages. For starters, private servers are just really poorly implemented. Say, most of RP events taking place in the world don't work, mobs don't patrol, mobs don't use their abilities, etc. Wrath emulation is a bit better for old world content than vanilla and then there's Netherwing TBC that actually does offer a relatively pristine experience (although I can still spot plenty of deficiencies), but I've leveled 20+ vanilla 1x equivalents worth of characters on private servers at this point (say, 1-80 1x Wrath would be about .8 characters) and it would be nice for a change to play on a server that Actually Works. Then there are demographic issues, stability issues, unblizzlike characteristics and tradeoffs like outrageous megaservers that on the balance probably are worse than what Blizzard is going to do etc.
Then again, while *I* care about things like random NPC in the middle of nowhere doing his RP, many people don't. I don't see retail offering them much. A lot of people allegedly didn't even "notice any bugs" having reached level cap on various private servers!
>n-no don't pay attention to the bugs those don't count
>there's nothing wrong with half of the server not speaking english
Cope detected
fuck streamer cults, for real
and sadly, even though they will bring vanilla back, they can't bring 2005 back.
it just won't be the same and i probably won't play it, maybe some dead realms without streamers and their cronies will be okay
Streamers are only going to be on pve servers.
Playing Nostalrius and later Light's Hope was genuinely some of the most fun I've had in a game in the last 5 years. Everything just feels so fucking good.
ive leveled to 60 on every major private server since nost. fuck chinks and fuck europoor welfare rankers. ill gladly pay 15$ to play with 30 ping and to dodge seething poorfags and the chink menace
