I knew of WOW ever since it came out (born in 98) but I didn't have a high end pc to play it so I didn't bother in the 2000s.

I would probably probably consider it but wasting a year in overwatch has me weary of blizzard

An MMO is a genre that sacrifices everything: gameplay, graphics and plot for the sake of having a ton of players, and there's nothing to do than endless grinding.
Not to mention they were pioneers in cancerous concepts such as "games as a service" , microtransactions and endless DLC.
