Untold 1 is superior to vanilla 1. The grimoire system sucks in it but aside that its very well balanced. Untold 2 is miles ahead of vanilla 2 but is slightly bogged down by having way too much DLC content, almost all of which isn't necessary. Honestly you should do 4 first, then Untold 1, then either U2 or 5. Both feel different enough from previous entries and each other to be their own experience.

I won't judge, but I personally feel a lot of the charm and fun of the series is making your own parties with your imagination playing into how they act or their personalities affecting their decisions in the labyrinth. But that might just be my autism, have fun regardless user.
