Microsoft still updates windows 7 so if they put spyware in 10 they probably put it in 7 too. In fact, from what I've heard, 10 is more transparent about it's telemetry with an option to turn it all off literally popping up during install, while with win7 you have to dig deep into the settings to turn it off. And if win7 isn't spyware yet, it certainly will be in 8 months when it goes OOS.

my advice is start small. I started with 2 small boxes ~55sq feet and now I've got a bunch more boxes and just general growing areas on the edge of my yard at the woods line.
also grow from seed as much as possible. Last year I bought a random tomato plant from the farmer's market and then got infested with tomato hornworms

I have a lot of experience gardening, mostly with plants native to my region.
I just haven't gotten around to it. It's a bit of an undertaking, and if you're not committed to it, it can quickly become an eyesore instead of a cool place where food grows.

yeah but goddamn does it feel rewarding.
I think it is also a fantastic complimentary hobby since if you put in some effort weekly then it only takes up a lot of time during planting and harvesting leaving a lot of time for another hobby like vidya
plus at least for me there's nothing to grow in the winter so I just hibernate
