From a market perspective, this is a much better idea than ouya was. Ouya was cheap crap that was meant to compete with xbone and ps4 while being vasgly inferior. It also mistakenly assumed people want to play phone games on their tv. This on the other hand is offering customers a contrast to the norm. People are overstimulated and crave a return to a simpler time. This low tech offering could give people that type of feeling. Its quirky, eclectic, and cute, and the price reflects its elevated status over ouya. My only gripe is that its manufactured in malaysia (something prominently stamped on the back of each unit) that seems super incongruous with the core concept.

What about the sleek, industrial design?

I like Steam for the most part and respect their position.
