The most complex part of tanking was knowing when the big damage was coming out so you could position/hit the proper cooldowns to not die. For 90 percent of the time you are simply a blue DPS. This changes fucking nothing, you're still going to have to cool down and position correctly.

This was the only natural way to make tanks better without bloating their gameplay.
Tank stances as a whole are archiac and pointless.
Tanks were just essentially "spam dps combo when you're at max enmity" now they can actually open up tanks to have complex rotations with hopefully more substantial GCDs with actual mechanics behind them.

Taking things out without having anything to replace them is bad and cheering for it is dumb. If they replace the aggro combo with a combo I'll actually be doing more often I'll be happy, but if it's just, "we took out the little bit of improvisation you might have to do and gave you the benefit of defense buff and attack buff without having to worry about it at all" is just boring. It also effects casual content, since managing stances is done more often in dungeons than anywhere else. The more the skill ceiling is lowered the more boring the pissbaby easy content is going to get.

GL4 is probably not gonna be the new GL3, aka the entire point of playing the class. I imagine it'll be more like DRG's red gauge, a temporary thing. Every other job has one now, apparently, a normal gauge which you's supposed to keep up at all times or as long as possible (GL3) and a special Super Sayian gauge (GL4).

There are no such thing as tanks anymore.
They are glorified dps with high HP and holds aggro.

Also healers are upset they have to actually heal and no emphasis on them doing damage.

this was always their goal though. They always wanted classes to feel different to play, but not actually differ from each other all that much.

The alternative is that every class has a niche, and you must bring x class to y encounter. While you might prefer this, this always leads to an extremely polarizing metagame, where a few classes are "must bring" and others are "this is only useful in zero to two encounters so why bother".

The classes are diversified in gameplay, but their actual effects are homogenized. This is what the game was designed to do.

In a way yeah considering AST is now all about DPS buffs and that tanks also carry a few that can be shared too. They only had one choice. Either make BRD more song based which would lead to something closer to bowmage again or make it more selfish ala SAM. The way I saw their action demonstration was that you have your songs and gauge. Each song will have a special action when once filled lets you execute it. Saw like three to four new moves. Apparently tho BRD will still have foes requiem, tromb, and refresh so in a way they will still be a bit of support base. You just now can be more selfish in terms of damage instead of baby sitting the tank, healers, and dps while making sure you did your fair share of damage. Now all that goes to DNC.

Dancer is going to make parse autism rankings completely irrelevant because you won't be able to even hit 90+ without being catered by a Dancer.

It serves as a punishment for bad tank/dps aggo management or recovering from tank deaths. Simply having that punishment there is technically less braindead than making everything do itself.

I'm pretty sure you need to do each role quest line only once per role, but every job has an unique level 80 quest to get its final skill.
I'd say the change is fine if the role quests are significantly higher quality than the usual job quest

I always play tank for MSQ and for my first-time run through of new dungeons. And that's not going to change. Paladin is my class for that and it always will be.

Raiding is DPS and has always been and always will be. I'd like to continue to main Red Mage for raiding, but Dancer may be too good to pass up.
