Doom has such a huge potential to be extremely powerful, but he's constantly gimped by shit writers. One day he's magicking elder gods into oblivion with his own power, the next he's getting beaten senseless by thugs and his attacks do nothing. And sometimes they write him like a cartoon villain to be hoisted by his own petard, every time.

If mcu uses doom, I hope they show his origins as a parallel to strange and keep that element of powerful trippy magic as well as showing how good he is with machines. Contrary to popular belief, the fantastic four are NOT integral to his backstory. It's only partnering with Reed in college and getting his face blown off, which can be rewritten as a different accident

I can't speak for modern Marvel and how they portray him but back when I was reading he was often Marvel's most fleshed out villain. He had understandable motives and sometimes even made you question who was right.
Marvel even at it's apex had a problem with making compelling villains. Outside of Doom, Magneto, and occasionally Venom Marvells villains were just your bog standard mustache twirling cookie cutter bad guys.

Where DC was the opposite. DC's villains are some of the best in all of fiction even their b-list baddies like Captain Boomerang could keep you engaged. They struggled with making any of their heroes other than Batman and Flash compelling.

So, basically Doom stood out because his competition was dogshit like Mole Man and Red Skull.

Spiderman still belong to Sony (But only film rights), however Marvel has been pretty cautious dealing with other franchises owned by rivals, they basically had an X-Men embargo because Fox had the film rights, so despite they could use them in games, comics, cartoons, etc... they decided not to.

Other property like Hulk and Namor are in a gray zone, they have the rights for them, but if they used them in a standalone movie, Universal has to distribute it.

Other gray zone is Defenders (DD, JJ, Luke Cage, Punisher and Iron Fist), basically they can't use them in media for 2 years after the series were cancelled.

She at least had the most developed at the start as she was the first Inhuman to make contact with humans in several thousand years or some shit, and basically became part of the Fantastic Four family. She was written the best during War of the Kings because the writers were clearly making her the underdog compared to her kind of asshole family.
But again, when the Inhuman push happened, they wanted Medusa and Blackbolt the face of things and just sort of pushed her aside. She's not a bad character, outside the awful cheating on Quicksilver thing.

It was completely dumb since it was so out of character as they'd spent so long building Crystal up as being the only one of the Inhumans who was a genuinely good person and had some grasp on human customs. Quicksilver going out of his way to try impress her family to gain their acceptance and yet still never really feeling like he was good enough (but having him be kind of oblivious to the fact she loved him unconditionally, at least as was originally intended) was enough to keep things interesting, but of course this wasn't selling enough issues so they had to inject some cheap character assassination infidelity drama into it.

That's pretty par for the course at Marvel. I don't think there's a single relationship that didn't get fucked up because of editorial interference.

It was definitely a big blow to it. Jeph Loeb's writing was just awful, and Ultimatum was nothing but shock deaths and out of character moments.

They tried bringing things back on track, but the spark was gone. Ultimate Spider-Man lasted a little while longer, the X-Men books got extremely grim (concentration camps and shit), and though Ultimates had evil Reed, a new writer had the worst ending for that story. Then they killed Peter for sales, introduced Miles, and by that point, Ultimate Spider-Man was the only Ultimate book left, so Secret Wars happened, Ultimate Universe went boom, and Miles Morales, Ganke, Miles' parents, and Bombshell were the only characters to come over to 616

I would disagree to a degree. Jeph Loeb was one of the better writers and his son's death really did affect his writing, but he has that same issue that Bendis has where they do the most bombastic and unsubtle character traits for characters. Like, a girl showing her tits to Hulk would make him stop in his tracks or how Wolverine is always treated like the smartest person in the room. They always came off as producers that saw how to market shit than actually telling a deeper narrative.

I always hated how they broke Matt and Karen up. They'd both lost everything thanks to Kingpin and Matt managed to pull Karen up from the brink, leaving them both together to pick up the pieces. Then two seconds later he's screwing around on her. Makes it doubly silly since he's religious.

THIS. The consistency of the Wolverine & The X-Men/Avengers EMH/UMvC3 cast through even MvCi for the characters that stuck around in that game is honestly really nice. The casting was really spot-on. You can hear that Tony is the same guy as EMH/MvC3 in another trailer. The only shame is that Spidey keeps getting new VAs when Josh Keaton (Spectacular Spider-Man & MvC3) is the best modern voice. Jeph Loeb fucked it up by making Drake Bell the voice of Spidey for a while, and then he's gotten a few other ones for other games/shows/movies since.

Not really. The X-Men stopped being affected by a ban in 2017. The Fantastic Four were the ones who got fucked, since Marvel still held them back for longer (hence why they were removed from Marvel Heroes along with Silver Surfer) so they could prepare their return in the comics.

As someone who actually enjoyed the first two games this looks awful. X-Men shilling aside it looks even shittier than the first game

The whole show barring the ~10-12 episode stretch where Loeb fucked them up in the latter half of S2 is phenomenal, and even then that stretch has only one truly bad episode, the rest just focus too heavily on the main guys instead of the secondary Avengers.

Stark, Cap, Hulk, Hawkeye, Panther, Wasp, Wolverine, Iron Fist & Luke Cage, Ultron, Pym, they totally nailed them all. Love that show to death. Maria Hill was really fucking hot in it.

I miss the X-Men TAS voice cast.

Back in the day when Ultimates was popular Marvel tried to make all the video games take notes from it at the time

I knew this and it hurts me. The shit they piled onto EMH for no reason leading to it being cancelled for that awful new Avengers show is so fucking sad. It could've been Marvel's DCAU and now nobody cares even though there's like 2 or 3 Marvel cartoons going on right now.
This I either didn't know or forgot about a long time ago. That's kinda neat. The team had so many ideas and plans that never happened, and that lead artist's drawings of stuff that wasn't planned but would've been cool (including fucking ROM SPACE KNIGHT) actually softened the blow of cancellation a bit.

The worst thing about X23 is that she never has a consistent personality. Every time someone else gets her she'll be basically a different person. In NXM she was an OH SO TORTURED AND SAD KILLING MACHINE, but now when people right her she's a LOL WACKY DANCE IN THE PARKING LOT HIP KID,

It was the height of stunt casting and Heimdall didn't do shit till the third movie. And Heimdall is literally called THE WHITEST OF ALL NORDIC GODS.

If there's any real complaints I have about the MCU is turning most of the magical stuff into mundane (Dr. Strange really dodged a bullet on that one). I miss the Thanos who decimated half the universe just to impress the incarnation of Death itself.

I saw an episode of the GotG cartoon and it was alright, but it was also a special anthology episode where every member is sent to a different pocket dimension with a different art style. I think I'd find the average episode boring (although Disney princess-style Gamora, old-school comics Drax, rubberhose Rocket, and Rankin-Bass Quill were all cool concepts; Groot was just CGI).

Man can you imagine seeing the Kirby or Starling stuff on the big screen.

You could play MvC Infinite's story, where he still has that motivation, and then Jedah from Darkstalkers cucks him so the post-credits scene is Thanos using the Satsui no Hadou to throw a Hadouken at her.
