Take your bets bros, will they drop the project fast enough or will the owners of the 007 franchise come first?
Danjaq didn't seem interested in GoldenEye: Source. GoldenEye 25 isn't using any assets from the original game. Even the soundtrack is merely sound-alike. The chances of them getting in trouble are fairly slim.
console trash, who cares?
RARE
neat
I bet you're an underage who never played Thief.
The remake's soundtrack hews closer to Serra's film score than the videogame's. youtu.be
the only people praising this trash game are retards who only played con consoles.
Reddit is that way champ
Name a single spy FPS on PC that was comparable to GoldenEye.
lol, plebbit loves this game, go back there you consolecuck
when i was a kid i always thought the AK in this was a giant pencil
NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN
The only people more braindead than Goldeneye fans are devs who think remaking it in current day isn't a recipe for bankruptcy.
Quake II
unreal
hexen II
Blood
Shadow Warrior
Make me faggot
This is what happens when Valve takes too long to get the Source 2 SDK out to the public damnit.
He said spy shooter jackass. Learn to read you fucking mong. Also not one of those except maybe Blood is even comparable in quality.
Yeah fuck console trash.
Here’s some awesome Pc games bro!
Does GoldenEye seriously only get hate on here for being on a console? Aren’t there mouselook mods now anyway? GoldenEye actually holds up well for having open ended objectives and additional objectives on harder difficulties.
Should have been Perfect Dark instead
>not one of those is even comparable in quality.
I see, you have shit taste, that explains everything

Fuck whoever these people are. Loved Goldeneye, but nobody is going to play this antiquated shit, just like the other two mods that already exist.
Dude Quake 2 was trash compared to 1, you’re the one with awful taste.

>Should have been Perfect Dark instead
Perfect Dark already has the fairly decent XBLA remaster. The problem is that GoldenEye's XBLA remaster called Project Bean that was in development at Rare was shitcanned.
OH my fucking god stop it with these Goldeneye remakes trying to win the nostalgia crowd. You're going to play it for maybe just a few minutes and you'll move on. It's going to be another generic FPS game. Goldeneye will not be any different you fucking mongoloids.
BASED
I really really don’t get why Yea Forums despises GoldenEye.
>>forcing player to walk slowly, a hallmark of Goldeneye
GoldenEye never, ever reduces your movement speed for cinematic story moments. It's about player freedom and agency.
but still miles ahead of goldeneye.
If it's so generic, name three FPS games on the current market with the GoldenEye formula. Also, what do you mean by "another generic FPS game". FPS is the best game genre, obviously, and they're kinda rare. It's not like heaps of FPS games release every year.
Honestly surprised it took them so long to start work on this but I suppose it's much easier to just make some multiplayer maps then re-creating a bunch of single player levels with objectives, NPC AI etc
Goldeneye and Perfect Dark play really well on an emulator with mouse and keyboard. It's different enough from PC shooters at the time that it makes it still worth playing.
Goldeneye doesn’t even have cutscenes does it? Besides the opening and ending animation for the levels.
It just makes you walk at a snails pace during the actual gameplay. It also does do cinematic moments.
Deep Silver are likely working on TimeSplitters 2/3 remasters, as well. TimeSplitters 2 is basically GoldenEye except poorly balanced and with incredibly obtuse objectives.
You guys are fucking idiots. Who cares about this shit when Fortnite HD is coming out
>2022
fucking kek
TimeSplitters has unironically the best MP between it GE and PD though
was a great game on console, revisit it with mouselooks and you´ll realise how cheap it is, is the manual definition of nostalgia googles, has aged like milk, looks like ass even compared to other contemporary games, run even worse on the original hardware, and the list goes on.
Dude. Goldeneye is a GOOD game. It was far superior back then because it was utilizing the Nintendo 64 technology. As time went on we've had far more superior FPS games that paved way for far more better FPS games. Goldeneye is and WAS good at it's time but you nostalgia fucking retards make Goldeneye so overrated and you try so hard to make it the godsend of FPS games. It was a fucking game based off some movie no one gives a fuck about.

you don't seem to be the biggest fan either. else you would mention that there have been many other remake projects of this game already
I think it’s aged better than pretty much every other FPS released in the late 90s.
I think people should stop accounting fan projects before they are ready for release.
Quake2 is a brown repetitive piece of shit Quake is way better and so is Goldeneye.
>Goldeneye doesn’t even have cutscenes does it?
GoldenEye tells almost its entire narrative ingame. You meet characters, they talk to you, you talk to them, scripted sequences play out. Half-Life did the same thing again a year later, and people acted as though they'd just invented cinematic game storytelling.
Yet in GoldenEye, you enter the bottling room, Bond and Alec exchange remarks about luck and fate, and then the alarms go off. Russian soldiers led by Ourumov flood into the room and surround Alec, who surrenders. Ourumov begins counting down, and shoots Alec (OR DOES HE?). In the meantime, the player has full control over Bond. The events play out in realtime. You fight Alec aboard the Cradle and instead of having cutscenes every time you shoot him, he shoots at you, you shoot back, he leads you on a chase across the structure, and Bond and Alec converse as they do so. GoldenEye hugely innovated when it came to telling a story without taking control away from the player. Perfect Dark is largely the same. It has a handful of mid-mission cutscenes but almost everything takes place from Joanna's perspective with brief cutscenes bookending missions.
Stop trying to fit in
That is true.
Goldeneye unlike half life too actually doesn’t railroad your way through the game either. People back in the 90s praised both and often, but Yea Forums only talks about half life now. I wonder why.
>you don't seem to be the biggest fan either. else you would mention that there have been many other remake projects of this game already
What remake projects.
>As time went on we've had far more superior FPS games that paved way for far more better FPS games.
Yea, Perfect Dark. But FPS games got increasingly focused on mindless killing. GoldenEye is a different breed of FPS. It's a thinking man's shooter focused on completing objectives in constrained sandbox environments. It heavily inspired Thief, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, that kinda thing. There aren't many FPS games that focus on the experience of being a spy. Of using gadgets and disguises. It's like looking at Chaos Theory and arguing that we don't need it anymore because we have Ghost Recon: Wildlands. It's colossally missing the point of what makes the likes of Thief and GoldenEye/Perfect Dark such good games. They're slow paced. Methodical. Intellectual. They're not about murdering gazillions of dudes with twitch shooting skills. In fact, Perfect Dark went to great lengths to humanize its enemy NPCs in a manner I've only ever seen in Metro: Exodus.
>Yet in GoldenEye, you enter the bottling room, Bond and Alec exchange remarks about luck and fate, and then the alarms go off.
Eurocom were a good dev, and TWINE is a great companion game to GoldenEye, but I disliked how their GoldenEye game scrapped every single line of dialogue from the film. GE is an amazing film, and they butchered it. Rare's game tried to keep as much film dialogue as possible.
Oh my fucking god the biggest hipster of all time. Like my previous statement still stands. It was a good game for it's time and yeah it made objective-based gameplay a thing and kinda paved way for less "mindless killing" fps games but bringing it back isn't going to revitalize the franchise back to its Goldeneye roots. It's more of a historical landmark in FPS genre than anything else. We've already had its sequels and remakes. It's done. I just think people need to fucking calm down about Goldeneye.
>It's more of a historical landmark in FPS genre than anything else.
It's a genuinely excellent spy FPS that people play on a regular basis.
>We've already had its sequels and remakes.
Rare's remake/remaster was shitcanned thanks to Nintendo, so no.
Also, all games should be natively on PC, and GoldenEye has no native PC version.
Are you also annoyed that Half-Life has a remake in the form of Black Mesa?
The problem is nobody will make any shooters like it anymore
GoldenEye was never good.
All garbage
NINTENDO

It says it won't have that shit
we can hope something comes from it, maybe not
but in the meantime ms should port rare replay to pc
