I think the tone of this game is shit. One moment you have the characters talking about death, the next minute; jokes. Viridi literally genocides a bunch of people and it's never fucking brought up again. The tone is all over the place and the game cannot be fucked for a second to just take a breather for longer than 3 minutes. The reason why humor in contrast to dark moments can work is because it balances it out. If you do it too soon, you completely fuck the tone and make the characters seem like fucking sociopathic bipolar dumbasses who can't stop joking around. You can say I'm autistic, but let me pose this; why the fuck even make the story so serious in the first place at points if you're just going to make jokes 5 minutes later? Absolutely retarded.

Shulk's power wasnt even his, it was Alvis's. And THAT power wasnt even his it was the conduit's. Which he could only use one time near the end of the game after shulk killed the big bad. If any jrpg protag could be able to solo smash. It would be Rex with Pneuma due to being able to make their imagination reality. Aka, do whatever the fuck they want. Sure her power comes the conduit as well, but she actually uses it for combat unlike Alvis.

It gives you some platforman, some light dungeon crawlan, a tiny bit of RPG stuff with how Pit "upgrades", and some light shooter elements.

Although KI purists/contrarians literally just exist to lurk in KIU threads to try to bait for attention.

You madman that mode is impossible. I always end up dying in the Pit fight where you have to use Magnus

you need defense +8. The hardest thing about 9.0 is the sheer damage output from enemies. Once defense gives you a buffer it's not too hard to learn enemy patterns

Also it's understandable, Gaol is definitely one of the harder boss fights.

It's not enough to just beat levels on 9.0; you have to keep doing chapters on 9.0 over and over until it basically becomes your default playing level

I got stuck on Arlon at first, then Pit's Body. Then the Heart, then the GST. If you can get to the heart though, then you can get to the end. Make peace with the fact that these bosses WILL end your streak at least once. Learn from your mistakes and try again.

Here's what used to beat it. You can my claws aren't optimal and they have no other abilities but they still get the job done.

As for powers, do you best to avoid using them. Keep all the brief invincibilities you can so you can cheese the GST because he doe NOT fuck around.

I'd also recommend Piscese Heal Lvl 4. You probably don't want it clogging space up on your final run but it's invaluable healing for your "training" runs.

Actually I should clarify; do you best to avoid using the orange powers. Save super Armor for the Heart and Invincibility for the GST. You get more from your healing from Health recovery when you aren't near death so space those out and use them when you're at about Half health.

Also you can try wiggling by with less defense. I didn't but I 'd say +5 is the absolute lowest I'd go for your weapon. And if you go +5 try to get 6* offense while you're at it. I used 5* claws and 6* claws on the first boss and the difference was only about 4 seconds worth of damage. But obviously every second counts.

Oh wait you were talking about Pit's Body, not Gaol. Yeah that one sucks. You just kinda have to keep 'foxtrotting' towards him so you can dodge on a moment's notice. He'll be vulnerable right after he fires so make sure you're facing the right way when you start swinging. The good news is if you beat him the next 4 bosses are piss easy until you get to Hades's Heart.

I'll try to remember where I used recovery but it won't be 100% accurate

>drink 1 before Medusa (on your best runs you can hold off on drink 1 until Arlon)
>drink 2 before Pyhron
>drink 3 after Pit's Body
>drink 4 before or the Heart
>drink 5 before the GST

I used 2 or 3 Health recoveries somewhere in between those spots. It's all flexible though, so just heal when you think you won't be able to survive the next boss.

It is my default playing level. I think i ever got stuck on Chapter 24. In fact, i think i can complete all achievements because the viridi ones i only got 5 left and the Hades ones 8. I can complete all except the viridi one you need streetpass. If i haven't used my feathers on dumb shit maybe i could have completed it. Maybe i just start another game file and replay it while trying to really 100% it.

well there's your first problem. You need to try and keep only one kind of star type on your weapon melee stars on a weapon like the Artillery claws are a complete waste. Also none of the abilities on your weapon are useful. Defense is the most important, but other abilites to consider are speed, evasion, and standing cont. fire. Pick defense and one of these other abilities and try to get them to +4 value. you'll have an easier time doing that if you don't waste points in melee stars.

As for powers, I can't imagine Mega Laser was too useful. Try a defensive power like Super Armor/Playing Dead. Or Pisces Heal so you get basically a 6th drink

damage wise each star adds roughly 15% of power for ranged/melee attacks

If your weapon has 5 ranged stars it deals roughly 190% damage on ranged attacks, and 205% for 6 stars

Weapons have a low value of 100 and a max value of 342. Meaning if you waste value points on stars it makes it harder to get high ability points on your weapon. You can get 6 stars in melee and ranged but you won't have room for good skills then.
