Ace Attorney is probably the only series where I can’t get upset or angry with the quality.

Just give me murder mysteries and great interactions and I’m good. And because of this I love every single game regardless of the case due to variety where I’m bound to like something about a case.

Justice for all, AAI, and Apollo even, fucking love them. Turnabout Corner, Airlines and Reunion were fantastic

There’s something about the second cases in Ace Attorney

I don’t know how to explain it, they tend to feel comfy but have one of the better twists in the entire game.

I think it’s the fact that they try to make you comfortable at the usual investigation tutorial but then throw a fucking curveball

I unironically enjoy the second cases as my absolute favorite Filler/Not final every single game and it hasn’t stopped.

3-2 might be the most underrated case in the trilogy. At first you feel like they're trying to do something different, then you get that solid 8/10 twist, and Luke Atmey has probably the best break down in the entire series

If you get got by Farewell My Turnabout, there's almost no better narrative moment in games than when Matt reveals himself to you. When I started playing the AA games a couple years ago I remember thinking after 1-1 "this series is going to suck if Wright is lucky enough to be defending innocent clients all the time." And even with that thought staying with me throughout the first two games, I never considered Matt to be lying until he tells you.

Ever since AAI2, Case 3’s started being God Tier, 6-3 was tense as fuck

Sugimori or Horiyama in charge of all compositions. The game can be whatever it wants after that.

I played that case for the first time and when he reveals himself and flips his hair back I literally had to stop playing for a few minutes and pace around the room for a while to collect myself.

2-2 had the biggest shock for me. 2-4 obviously was surprising, but didn't hit me like 2-2.

Nah this one is good, a lot more dynamic than the other trial themes

I somewhat feel the opposite.

The pacing is kinda slow, and it retreads the same ground of a new nervous novice attorney who has to face himself on what it means to be in court, and have your mentor die along the way but I enjoyed solving the mysteries regardless. I will say that I do enjoy how slowly Ryu is coming into his own on his journey the most so far.

Investigations 3 with Gumshoe as the MC and Ema as the assistant. A portion of the game will be a unique minigame where you help Gumshoe actually give effective testimony on the witness stand.

Uh the secret agent in question was literally an assassin, they even said "I can kill rebels with impunity".

Biggest crime is her getting sidelined in the game. They spent all that time with DD giving her a SINGLE backstory and drives. I would have liked it if they fleshed out that case to at least have an investigation, but that's really because the Blackquill banter was amazing. Also, it would be really cool to see her step in for a Mood Matrix segment in the last case trial (despite the fact Pheonix said that Blackquill told him not to put her on the case) and have her be like "You guys took care of me when I needed it the most so I'm going to return the favor" or something and have her growing a spine.

The first case is (imo) the best in the game even with the unsatisfying conclusion. The rest of the cases are pretty mediocre and there's no satisfying conclusion to any of it. Apparently the second game actually fixes all this.

I liked Case 5. It didn’t wrap everything up but it satisfied what was at hand. It had a good defendant, a good culprit, a good twist, and the jury bullshit was practically nonexistent or constantly shut down by the end of the second act and they were basically treated as semi helpful peanut gallery, which is a good thing because the jury gimmick is ass

The magatama isn't really much of anything. You're just presenting evidence against testimony. I don't think its 'bad' or 'good', its just a lens of truth that lets you know if someone's hiding something. Most of the gimmicks in AA have been stupid. I thought Apollo's was alright I guess. My personal favs are:

Since we aren’t getting DGS in the West (I’m aware of the fandub) I would want AA7 to be a fresh start, like what Apollo Justice would’ve been if DD didn’t being Phoenix back full force

Since T&T the series kinda gets a bit worse, I still enjoyed AJ but felt Phoenix was forced in, DD was much less likeable, and SOJ I hear was good but just never beat

Bringing Phoenix back after a completed character arc and in the middle of Apollo’s, and not only that but also adding Athena kinda ruined it for me.

Dunno if I’m alone here and sorry for such a lengthy post but I’d like to see a fresh take and hopefully a mainline game that can compare to the finale that was T&T

I watched the anime and the plot is garbage even by anime standards. Everything about the mystics is the absolute most retarded setting breaking shit I've ever seen. Like I've legit watched isekai better written than this.

The anime is utter trash. The games are solid gold, in part due to having far, far more content in each case and being much more difficult to solve.
