I had the same issue but I cleaned out the fan and it sounds fine now. Was a bitch to get open (I have the model with only one screw on the bottom so the case is on super tight) but it was worth it.

Both the PS3 and PS4 have very little worth for people that don't play ports or multiplats on consoles though.
I still own all of my PS1 and 2 games, and I have a computer that is much nicer than both the PS3 and PS4
