pcgamesn.com/metro-exodus/sales >In other words, direct game sales through the Epic store brought in more money for THQ Nordic in the quarter than sales on Steam, PlayStation Network, or Xbox Live. That can be partially attributed to the higher revenue cut developers receive through Epic, but it takes more than a few percentage points to compete against the big install bases on console.
It's over bros, steam is dead. We can't deny it any longer, sell your accounts while you still can
n-n-noooooo! this wasn't supposed to happen! they didn't want to talk about epic sales! nooooo epic is shiiiiiittt!!!!!
Colton Gonzalez
>game not for sale on steam >game for sale on epic >game doesn't sell as well on platform it was removed from really gets the ol' noggin joggin' also >the “absolute majority” of those sales were on console
Easton Jackson
What will you say when they inevitably come back to Steam?
Ryan Lewis
Somethin something better epic cut something something china numbah one
Blake Perez
Steam will be literaly closed in a few months. Only Gog(as number one) and epic will remain
Angel Cook
>>game not for sale on steam It was on sale on Steam. Sold 200-500,000 copies. How do people not fucking know this?
Benjamin Garcia
What is the Yea Forumserdict on this game?
On The Dead City and have been immensely enjoying it. The writing isn't particularly strong but 4A really out did themselves with the graphically fidelity and beautiful world.
Isaiah Reyes
Yeah before they yanked it with little warning That DEFINITELY affected sales Good to hear because the gameplay looked boring. I'll buy it for 10$ when the epic embargo is over
Austin Morris
It's really worth the money, most of Yea Forumsirgins will deny it because of egs.
Hunter Rivera
>earns more money one store than a store it's not even on Absolutely shocking
The game would have seen the same amount of, if not even more, success if it launched on both EGS and Steam
James Murphy
>Yeah before they yanked it with little warning >That DEFINITELY affected sales That's missing the goddamn point. A game selling 200-500k is pretty damn solid. The Epic Store has made MORE money than that. Meaning the game has sold more than 200-500k on the Epic Store. Meaning the game is doing fine and asshurt Steam fans need to get over themselves.
Benjamin Ward
D-d-derete this!
Elijah Gomez
I got it for free with my video card, it's pretty good. I wouldn't pay full price for it, but then again that's true of every game. Single player games like these are good any time, even years later. Pick it up on sale, when it comes to Steam, or whenever, it's definitely worth a play.
Jaxson Martin
HAHAHAHAHA GET BURNED FAGGOT I'll never buy another game from this faggot company. I'll pirate all of it's games
Connor Nguyen
I still think it was profitable, even if epic sales were low. Epic is throwing millions at some unknown indie dev exclusivity. They must have paid a shit ton for metro.
Alexander Gomez
That tweet doesn't really make sense because we later learned Satisfactory sold totally fine and THQN are happy with it. I think some people are just intentionally misunderstanding the weird CEO and his weird habit of understating stuff. Metro could have sold 10 million copies and he'd make some bland remark about how its sales were in line with expectations.
Hunter Brown
>Satisfactory sold totally fine It was a flop
Aiden Fisher
No it wasn't.
Chase Jones
8 copies
Jackson Walker
They were trolling, you retards. How can you people be such a cliche?
Alexander Smith
>comparing the sales of a store that actually sells the game to a store that doesn't this really doesn't paint a good picture as much as he hoped
Ethan Hughes
>autist can't tell when someone is joking
Blake Taylor
No stop it, can't you see that a random nigger posted on twitter that it was a flop? He's for sure a better source than company CEO. Steam is the best. Epic can't compete, r-right?
Tyler Foster
Do we have a better number than that?
Caleb Jones
where the hell are you getting 200-500k from?
Evan Fisher
SteamSpy's revised algorithm.
Mason Watson
of course not, they never release numbers for a good (((reason))), same with metro exodus, they completely silent about PC sales in their latest meeting with investissors and now they says "all is fine !", i have hard time to believe it until i the sotre numbers like on SteamdB
Adrian Williams
Swamp level is a good not-stalker map. The dead city is another great level but the tunnel bit is so fucking stupid and obnoxious. The actual story missions aren't very good and everything else is mediocre. Ranger hardcore was not balanced whatsoever for open world gameplay. Good overall but alot of missteps
Why don't they release actual numbers instead of giving a vague response?
Kayden Russell
There is literally no sources on the news. That site is totally no name They said the company CEO said it, but haven't said were or how
Here is some equally solid news: >Epic games CEO told me in private he is taking all the chink money and fleeing to Mexico
Alexander Perry
Yeaaah it made more because it was advertised more. The previous entries were niche as fuck, the only reason they made any money at all is because of steams huge userbase. This one was less niche, advertised way more, and thus sold more. In any case, if they were really just trying to maximize profits, it wouldn't make sense to remove it from any platform, you would sell it on both.
Jace Moore
>PC GamesN >No name news outlet >Somehow got a direct answer by the CEO HIMSELF Something doesnt check out
Matthew Powell
>There is literally no sources on the news. That site is totally no name >They said the company CEO said it, but haven't said were or how
>That site is totally no name What, it's a pretty big one.
Also, Papa epic himself tweeted this news. It's not fake as far as we can tell. But if it's really fake then this is going to be fun
Liam Peterson
I'm skeptical of those numbers because EPic was already parading around World War Z's 250k as some grand accomplishment. If the game sold almost half a million Epic would have been spraying those figures from every orifice for weeks.
Noah Flores
I would assume their numbers were shit before the sale. No one can deny exodus at that price is a great deal
Aiden Allen
He means it sold that much on Steam according to steam spy, not epic.
Michael Flores
NOOO THIS IS FALSE THEY ARE AFRAID TO GIVE OUT NUMBERS BECAUSE IT'S SO LOW!
>Metro sold the vast majority of its units on consoles Oof. Reminder that this is a series originally developed by ex-STALKER devs that had a huge foothold in Eastern Europe and on PC. That's sad as fuck.
Jordan Kelly
>exceeded expectations That's such a cop-out nonanswer that it just makes it sound even more suspicious.
Carson Rodriguez
>The game would have sold more if it was released on St-
Vg247 however is more popular and offers sources, none of which actually support OP's article. Im just saying that i find it very odd a small news outlet got such an important information through a private method while larger news outlets wouldn't get the same answers in the public Q&A
Christopher Green
this article doesn't mention anything about EGS being the leading digital platform?
Josiah Roberts
>all time peak = sales Whant to know why I know you're a retard?
Luis Lopez
well of fucking course it's gonna sell better on epic because IT'S NOT FUCKING AVAILIBLE ON STEAM any sane person was waiting for reviews before jumping on the game via steam, but nope, they stopped selling it before that. so obviously steam sales are gonna be lower. fucking retards
Camden Cooper
Source? The line is the same as OP, but the site is different.
Caleb Kelly
>user's unironically shill for Epic to 'troll' even though Epic gaining a large foothold in the PC space will only be negative for the PC as a platform
Absolutelydisgusting.png.jpg.tiff
Ryan Lopez
fz.se The biggest gaming "news" site in Sweden.
Lars Wingefors said this to them in a message.
Levi Walker
Dude, it stopped selling like weeks before launch, and there was no proper alert or time limit, one day it just wasn't there anymore. Only pre-order cucks got it.
Comparing sales against in a store that doesn't sell that product anymore is just fucking pathetic, that is the level the cockroaches that shill for Epic have arrived.
Evan Adams
They're heavily correlated when talking about games released in the same year, yes. Unless there's some big sale or the game is given away for free, there is no better publicly available predictor for overall sales figures. Reminder that WWZ, the game that Epic bragged about hitting 250k sales, hit 70k peak concurrent players on all platforms combined, and based on overall sales, ~17k peak concurrent players (maybe 20k if they're lucky) on PC. If it were on Steam it'd be the least popular game in that image outside of Rage 2 and Far Cry New Dawn.
Brayden Hall
>there is no better publicly available predictor for overall sales figures.
Even with the changes to the API, Steamspy is still more accurate
Mason Edwards
Okay, now why wouldn't it do even better on both egs and steam
Luke Reyes
Of course it would be the least popular game. It's fucking shit
Angel Jenkins
No, it's not. And the main issue with the change is that profiles are now set to private by default, and they're not getting that data no matter what they do.
Steamspy says it sold from 1kk to 2kk on steam alone, this numbers are fucking dumb. There is no way it sold even 1kk copies on steam much less 2kk
Hudson Cooper
Yes, DMC 5 easily sold 1M (the fuck is kk?) on Steam. Capcom has gone on record saying that PC is their second-largest platform.
Joshua Barnes
Steamspy already confirmed he is an Epic shill... Why don't you kill yourself, anyone with a brain can see - literally no one except Yea Forums has mentioned the game since release, and game is literally worse than previous titles, epic, short, and lacking in atmosphere.
Wyatt Gray
>Capcom has gone on record saying that PC is their second-largest platform. It's not so hard when it was only released on 2 platforms... And yeah Xbox1 does not count.
Jose Walker
>the fuck is kk newfag I was wrong there, it's actually 2,1 millions overall. not 3
Levi Smith
>>the fuck is kk >newfag
Not him, but I've been here since 07 and I have no fucking clue what retarded shit kk is
Xavier Richardson
It's a Eurotard thing, as is using a comma as a decimal place instead of a period.
Jace Miller
Some third worlders use it to say million in MMO's. They don't understand that k stands for kilo which stands for thousand. I always seethe when I see people typing kk here.
Camden Powell
yeah dude, remember when activation said sekiro sold 2 million copies (on all platforms) and shortly after according to steamspy it sold between 2-5m on steam alone pc accounting for the majority of the sales? really now?
>Capcom has gone on record saying that PC is their second-largest platform. pc is monster hunter's second largest platform, not all of capcom's games in general you probably confused it with dmc5 is capcom's second largest launch on steam
Leo Sanders
>single player games are dying no matter how good (see Hitman 2 and Prey) >there is a lot of concern over pirates on the PC platform >epic games is overing a bigger share, even bigger if you're already using their engine >these deals are still new so no one really knew how big the backlash would be >by the mentality of people who aren't loyalists its just another free application you have on your computer >>now epic games comes with you a fat check for exclusivity
Huh, fun stuff: pcgamesn copied the fz.se article and claimed it was their own. Real trustworthy people, huh?
Assuming the sweden website is saying the truth, why didnt mr CEO tell the truth at the investors meeting, and instead said it in a particular response to a locals news network? Isnt he supposed to give all the info to investors? Dunno, pretty sly. I think its more probable for him to be lying to the reporters than to the investors.
Alexander Long
Still waiting for those amazing numbers, Sergey.
Isaac Gutierrez
EGS is the only digital platform
Andrew Gomez
k=1000 kk=1000000 kkk=1000000000
It's not even stupid
Adam Nelson
>it's actually 2,1 millions overall. not 3 Its 2,1M by march 31, 3 weeks after game release. By now it must be 2.5-3.5M
Alexander Butler
PSN and the Xbone store are also digital platforms. The article in the OP says EGS sold more than the digital versions for consoles. The VG247 article doesnt say anything.
Brandon Miller
If only there was already a letter to use for these numbers....
Jaxson Gomez
a thousand thousands (as represented by kk) is a million, whiteoid
Tyler Barnes
>yeah dude, remember when activation said sekiro sold 2 million copies (on all platforms) Dude, that was in 10 days. The game launched 2 months ago and FromSoft's games are HUGELY popular on PC, I could easily see it hitting 2 million units in 2 months.
