You can play music to cap, some events give out shitton of vouchers, it's what I do. Also there's a free level up potion in the free daily wonder and most likely another one when the update hits.

It's not like old-skool Maple and so it has no audience. People who like nu-Maple are playing Maple 1, people who don't like it aren't going to play Maple 2 because it's not in the old style.

It's just basic product differentiation.

Game was plagued with RNG gates, daily chores, no real content til now. Devs took too much time figuring out what went wrong and coming up with fixes. If more testing was done for endgame progression and if some of the RNG changes they did was applied earlier, there would be way more people still playing.

I just want a comfy grinding game with rare drops and platforming. I dont want to solo quest to cap. I dont want to cap in a week. I want a long, slow burn of comfy grinding in areas with super relaxing music with some platforming and exploration

There's a reason why those types of MMOs don't exist anymore and those that still do are rampant with third worlders.

There's this thing in business I call "suckerism" and it kind of applies here. Basically, most businesspeople believe in right and wrong ways to do things. If you do things the "right" way, you're smart. Anything you do is right. If you fail, it's not your fault. If you succeed, it's because you're smart. If you do things the "wrong" way, you're a sucker. If you succeed, it's for some other reason. If you fail, it's because you're a sucker. What is right and wrong is essentially determined by a combination of precedent, groupthink, what's currently successful, a pinch of greed, and a sprinkle of laziness.

Businesspeople believe that old sandboxy games failed. Therefore, new sandboxy games make no sense. Businesspeople are all in on the hip new trend of crafted player experiences, like in mobile games - they want you to sit there clicking shiny buttons and getting bigtime rewards. Businesspeople are stupid, and think that getting you to the endgame faster will make you think you're better at the game and therefore more likely to shell out. Businesspeople are lazy, and crafting an engaging sandbox takes work. The market leaders are doing things this way, so it MUST be the right way - any other way makes you a sucker.

So that's part of it.
