Why would you want to play this for its multiplayer? The info we have shows that specific characters and karts are outright better depending on courses. It's literally p2w. At least with games like FEH and FGO, the better units are just for fighting NPCs.

I'm in the beta and I'm having fun with it, it's not meant to be played like a traditional Mario Kart, your focus is on getting a high score on each course and 5 starring them, a finish in the top spot isn't your ultimate goal in a race (though it does give you a nice chunk of points) your goal is to maximize your score through Character/Kart/Glider selection and actions taken in the race such as drift boosting, attacking other racers, taking out course elements like Goombas, Piranha Plants, Pipes and more
It's not bad at all for a free phone game, I'll definitely be playing it on official release.
And they throw enough free emeralds at you for playing that you wouldn't really ever need to buy them unless you have zero patience

I would buy a one purchase game. I bought the DQ1 port and it was a fun afternoon waster. I just wouldn't buy an endless runner.
